Abstract

The provision of quality feed is the most important factor determining the success of vannamei shrimp farming. The aim of this study was to evaluate the growth performance, survival rate and water quality of pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei after dietary administration of combination of calcium, magnesium dan vitamin D3.  Shrimp were fed a control diet (without combination of calcium, magnesium dan vitamin D3 supplement) and four levels of combination of calcium, magnesium dan vitamin D3 supplementation i.e 0; 0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1.00 mL Hyperol Kg-1 of feed. Larvae were reared in tank with a dimension of 40x25x30cm containing 4 L of disinfected seawater at a stocking density of 100 larvae m-2. In conclusion, the present study demonstrated that dietary supplementation of combination of at the concentration up to 10 mL Kg-1 could significantly improve growth and survival rate of Pacific white shrimp

Abstract

Udang vaname merupakan biota perikanan yang tidak memiliki kekebalan tubuh spesifik. Sehingga dalam teknis pembudidayaan udang lebih menerapkan prinsip pencegahan terhadap serangan penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat peningkatan respon imun udang vaname melalui penghitungan jumlah total hemosit dan pengamatan perbedaan jenis hemosit yang dipelihara selama 60 hari. Pengujian dilakukan dengan perlakuan kombinasi vitamin D3, mineral Ca dan Mg (Hyperol) pada pakan antara lain kontrol (pemeliharaan udang tanpa suplementasi Hyperol) dan pemeliharaan udang dengan penambahan suplementasi Hyperol pada pakan sebanyak 0,25 mL/kg pakan (A); 0,5 mL/kg pakan (B); 0,75 mL/kg pakan (C); dan 1 mL/kg pakan (D). Hasil terbaik yang didapatkan adalah perlakuan dengan penambahan suplementasi Hyperol 1 mL/kg pakan dengan jumlah total hemosit 65,41±1,90 x 106 sel/mL. Hal ini menunjukkan penggunaan Hyperol 1 mL/kg pakan dapat meningkatkan respon imun pada udang vaname. Vannamei shrimp is fisheries commodity who doesn’t have specific immunity in their body, so principle of prevent against disease was the most important thing to be applied in shrimp farming techniques. The aims of this study is to see an increase in the immune response of vannamei shrimp through counting the total number of hemocytes and observing the different types of hemocytes maintained for 60 days. Tests were carried out with a combination treatment of vitamin D3, minerals Ca and Mg (Hyperol) on the feed, including controls (raising shrimp without Hyperol supplementation) and rearing shrimp with the addition of Hyperol supplementation to feed as much as 0.25 mL/kg feed (A); 0.5 mL/kg feed (B); 0.75 mL/kg feed (C); and 1 mL/kg feed (D). The best results obtained were treatment with the addition of 1 mL/kg Hyperol supplementation with a total hemocyte count of 65.41 ± 1.90 x 106 cells/mL. This shows that the use of Hyperol 1 mL/kg of feed can increase the immune response in vannamei shrimp.

Abstract

The present study aims to determine the best technique of Guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) supplementation to improve retention of added GAA after immersion in water on the growth performance of Pangasius catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus). Pangasius catfish juveniles with a mean body weight and length of 16.05 ± 0.47 g and 12.42 ± 0.30 cm were randomly distributed into 9 pond units (2 x 1 x 0,6 m). Three experimental diets were formulated to contain (0,5% kg-1 GAA) with different technique of GAA supplementation, i.e. control, pelleting technique and spray-coating technique fed to the fish for 60 days of culture. The results showed that average body weight and biomass of fish fed diet with by GAA supplementation with the pelleting technique was higher (p<0.05) than that of spray-coating technique and control. In conclusion, the consumption of diets containing GAA with pelleting technique resulted the best growth performance of Pangasius catfish (Pangasius hypophthalmus).   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan metode terbaik dalam suplementasi Guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) pada pakan untuk meningkatkan retensi penambahan GAA setelah perendaman di air dalam meningkatkan kinerja pertumbuhan ikan patin (Pangasius hypophthalmus). Benih ikan patin dengan rata-rata bobot 16.05 ± 0.47 g dan panjang 12.42 ± 0.30 cm dipelihara di dalam 9 unit kolam dengan ukuran (2 x 1 x 0,6 m). Ikan diberikan pakan selama 60 hari pemeliharaan tiga perlakuan yaitu; kontrol (tanpa penambahan GAA); perlakuan pelleting (penambahan 0,5% kg/GAA); dan perlakuan spray coating (penambahan 0,5% kg/GAA). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan penambahan 0,5% kg/GAA dengan metode pelleting memberikan rata-rata bobot ikan dan biomasa paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan lain dan kontrol (p<0.05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah suplementasi GAA pada pakan ikan patin dengan metode pelleting menunjukkan kinerja pertumbuhan terbaik jika dibandingkan dengan metode spray coating pada ikan patin.

Abstract

Kalsium, magnesium dan vitamin D3 adalah komponen yang penting untuk pertumbuhan udang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kinerja pertumbuhan, tingkat kelangsungan hidup dan kualitas air media pemeliharaan udang Litopenaeus vannamei setelah pemberian pakan dengan suplementasi kombinasi kalsium, magnesium dan vitamin D3 pada dosis yang berbeda. Udang diberi pakan dengan perlakuan yang berbeda yaitu kontrol (tanpa suplementasi HYPEROL yang berisi kombinasi kalsium, magnesium dan vitamin D3) dan empat tingkat suplementasi kombinasi HYPEROL yaitu 2,5 mL kg-1; 5 mL kg-1 ; 7,5 mL kg-1; 10 mL kg-1 pakan. Selama penelitian udang dipelihara dalam akuarium dengan ukuran 40x25x30 cm3 yang berisi 25 L air laut yang didesinfeksi pada kepadatan tebar 100 larva m-2. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi kombinasi kalsium, magnesium dan vitamin D3 pada konsentrasi hingga 10 mL kg-1 secara signifikan dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan udang vaname. Kombinasi kalsium, magnesium, dan vitamin D3 yang terkandung dalam HYPEROL memiliki peran sinergis untuk memastikan keseimbangan kalsium yang optimal, sehingga berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan udang vaname.Calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D3 are vital feed components to support shrimp growth. Larvae were reared in the tank with a dimension of 40x25x30 cm3 containing 25 L of disinfected seawater at a stocking density of 100 larvae m-2. The present study demonstrated that dietary supplementation of HYPEROL concentrations up to 10 mL kg-1 could significantly improve the growth of Pacific whiteleg shrimp. Combination of calcium, magnesium, and vitamin D3 contained in HYPEROL has an important role in ensuring calcium balance, which affects to the growth of Pacific whiteleg shrimp.
