Abstract

This study aims to analyze the mediating role of work motivation in the influence of the work environment and work-life balance on the performance of teachers and employees. The research was conducted at SMK Santa Monika Sungai Raya using a quantitative approach and survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to teachers and employees and then analyzed using WarpPLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The research results show that the work environment and work-life balance have a positive and significant effect on motivation, with path coefficients of 0.493 (p = 0.001) and 0.501 (p < 0.001), respectively. The work environment also has a significant effect on performance (β = 0.438; p = 0.004). This research also indicates a weak significance for the mediating role of the motivation variable (β = 0.229; p = 0.092). In this mediation model, it was found that work-life balance does not have a direct effect on performance (β = 0.183; p = 0.148).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work discipline and emotional intelligence on teacher performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and Structural Equation Modeling analysis with SmartPLS 4.0, data were analyzed from 39 respondents. The results showed that work discipline had a significant effect on job satisfaction (β = 0.771; p < 0.001) and teacher performance (β = 0.538; p < 0.001). In contrast, emotional intelligence did not show a significant effect on job satisfaction (β = 0.038; p = 0.729), but directly affected teacher performance (β = 0.346; p < 0.001). Job satisfaction made a positive contribution to performance (β = 0.315; p = 0.006) and partially mediated the relationship between work discipline and performance (β = 0.242; p = 0.006). This model explains 84.5% of the variance in teacher performance. These findings confirm that work discipline is an important personal resource for improving performance, both directly and by increasing job satisfaction. At the same time, emotional intelligence serves as a direct driver of performance. Practical implications recommend improved discipline, performance-based emotional intelligence training, and improved working conditions to support optimal job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of work–life balance (WLB) on proactive work behavior (PWB) mediated by employee engagement (EE) among employees at Credit Union Semarong Head Office in Indonesia. Using a quantitative, descriptive-correlation design, data were collected from 49 employees using a structured questionnaire based on validated scales. Data analysis was conducted via Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. Results indicate that WLB significantly enhances both EE and PWB, with EE partially mediating the relationship between WLB and PWB. These findings demonstrate that balanced employees possess higher motivation and engagement, which stimulate proactive behaviors. The conclusion affirms the importance of fostering work–life balance and engagement to build resilient, proactive workforces in resource-constrained organizations. This study provides practical and theoretical insights for organizational leaders seeking to promote adaptive and innovative employee conduct.
