Abstract

Zakat has an important role in economic and social aspects. On the one hand, zakat helps reduce poverty and fosters social awareness for the rich. On the other hand, zakat prevents the accumulation of wealth in a handful of people. Therefore, the role of the Zakat Agency is very much needed so that its distribution is right on target. This study aims to analyze the productivity of zakat funds through the house renovation program by BAZNAS Pinrang Regency. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with observation, interview, and documentation techniques for beneficiaries. The results of the study show that zakat funds are distributed through field parties who work together with BAZNAS, then organize the implementation of house renovation. Supporting factors of the program include a) Availability of definite funds, b) Transparency in reporting, and c) Good coordination between parties. While the inhibiting factors encountered are time issues, such as delays in the process of building houses for aid recipients.

Abstract

The year 2020 marked a significant global impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic, affecting various sectors of life, including agriculture in Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the food estate program as a national food security strategy in Labuha Village, South Halmahera Regency, and its alignment with the maqasid sharia concept. Using a juridical-empirical approach, this research incorporates primary data from interviews with local residents and secondary data from relevant sources. The findings reveal that the food estate program, designed to address food crises during the pandemic, received a positive response from 75% of Labuha Village residents. The program supports various economic and social aspects, with 45% of the population engaged in farming utilizing vacant land for hydroponic cultivation, which also helps reduce the spread of COVID-19. From the perspective of maqasid sharia, 80% of government policies are in line with sharia principles, particularly in safeguarding life and providing halal food. This study underscores the importance of integrating food security policies with sharia values to achieve sustainable welfare amidst a crisis

Abstract

This study explores the potential of gamification as an adaptive educational strategy to improve Islamic financial literacy among Generation Z learners. Drawing upon key theories from educational psychology, Islamic pedagogy, and digital learning design, this research aims to synthesize conceptual frameworks and empirical findings through an integrative literature review approach. A comprehensive review of forty-three academic sources from 2013 to 2024 was conducted using databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect. Thematic coding and comparative analysis were applied to identify core mechanisms of gamification—such as points, badges, leaderboards, and adaptive challenges—and evaluate their alignment with Generation Z’s digital engagement preferences. The findings show that gamification significantly enhances learner motivation, behavioral change, and ethical comprehension when designed with cultural and religious sensitivity. Specific applications in Islamic finance education demonstrate increased retention, improved decision-making, and value alignment. The study concludes that gamified tools, if integrated with Islamic ethics and local wisdom, can bridge the gap between traditional Islamic education and digital learning expectations. These results suggest a new pedagogical direction for educators and policy-makers aiming to cultivate financial literacy in Muslim youth through interactive, ethical, and technology-enhanced learning environments.
