Abstract

This study aimed to identify whether gender, financial income, and religiosity influenced Indonesians' donation behavior during the 2021 Covid-19 pandemic. Besides that, its purpose is also to determine which religiosity dimension significantly correlates to the Indonesians' donation intention during the Covid-19 outbreak. The research questions whether gender, financial income, and religiosity influence Indonesian people's donation behavior in the 2021 Covid-19 pandemic era. The data was collected through questionnaires to 334 respondents in 34 provinces in Indonesia that were then analyzed using Partial Least Square (P.L.S.); it was found that financial income, gender, and religiosity significantly influence donation behavior. The religiosity dimension significantly influences donation behavior is the sincerity of Zakat (Islamic charity tax for wealth) paying routine behavior. In contrast, the religion literature study behavior significantly negatively influences the respondents' donation behavior. This study successfully proves that there are influences of gender, financial income, and religiosity on the respondents' donation behavior. This is very important for many stakeholders, like the government, N.G.O.s, and Zakah Institution, so they can formulate policies and strategies to increase the participation of Indonesian in donating.

Abstract

The gig economy phenomenon has increased work pressure among Generation Z ShopeeFood drivers, making work-life balance and burnout important factors affecting performance. This study aims to analyze the role of job satisfaction as a mediating variable in the relationship between work-life balance, burnout, and the performance of Generation Z ShopeeFood drivers in Semarang City. A quantitative approach was employed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM–PLS) method. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire from 137 respondents. The results indicate that work-life balance and burnout have a significant positive effect on both job satisfaction and performance. Job satisfaction also has a significant positive effect on performance and mediates the relationship between work-life balance, burnout, and performance. These findings suggest that the performance of Generation Z ShopeeFood drivers is influenced both directly by work-life balance and burnout and indirectly through job satisfaction. Therefore, maintaining work-life balance, managing work pressure, and improving job satisfaction are important factors in enhancing driver performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of waqf as an instrument to support fiscal policy in the Islamic economic system, especially in disaster management. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with secondary data sources in the form of classical and contemporary literature in sharia economic law. The data were analyzed thematically to identify the distribution mechanism and implementation of waqf in the disaster management cycle. The results of the study show that waqf is an instrument of Islamic philanthropy that has significant potential as a source of public income other than zakat, infaq, and alms. In contrast to zakat which is mandatory, waqf is voluntary but has a sustainability character through the management of productive assets. The status of waqf is included in the category of al-milkiyyah al-'ammah, although in certain practices it can be al-expert. In the context of disaster management, waqf can be implemented in three main stages, namely mitigation (reforestation and environmental conservation), emergency response (provision of shelter, health services), and rehabilitation (reconstruction of public facilities such as hospitals, madrasas, and mosques). These findings confirm that waqf has a strategic position as a sustainable alternative fiscal instrument in strengthening sharia-based socio-economic resilience. Therefore, it is recommended that there be the integration of waqf in national fiscal policy, the strengthening of nadzir institutions, and innovations in productive waqf management to be optimal in supporting an effective and sustainable disaster management system.

Abstract

This paper examines IMRAD, synthesis, and hedging within expert academic writing to encourage a world discussion platform and to enhance manuscript writing for internationally reputable journals. The research utilized 25 Quartile-1 Scopus-indexed articles from 25 scholarly journals from 2022 and 2023 publications across different subject areas. Through online searching, observation, and interpretive techniques, the patterns of IMRAD, its synthesis, and the use of hedging within the synthesis were analyzed and identified as crucial elements for creating a manuscript that serves as a world discussion platform. Based on the systematic observation and interpretation of the 25 data sources, the research findings were discussed across three aspects: the IMRAD pattern, synthesis, and hedging. The findings revealed that symmetrical IMRAD patterns were rarely employed by authors of Quartile-1 Scopus-indexed journals, with various patterns being applied and the largest proportion focusing on different aspects. Synthesis was utilized by all authors of the 25 journal articles, and hedging or cautious language was used by most authors. Authors worldwide may benefit from the results of this research when writing manuscripts to be submitted to internationally reputable journals. Additionally, academic writing teachers can use the proposed interpretive model and research results to teach expert academic writing to their students, thus enhancing the quality of student academic writing and enabling the publication of their papers in internationally reputable journals.
