Abstract

In general, negative binomial regression is used for univariate discrete data that is overdispersive and follows the Poisson distribution. In the real world, a case is often influenced by two discrete variables that are correlated with each other. Therefore, in this paper we will examine the regression that is influenced by two independent variables, has overdispersion properties and follows a bivariate Poisson distribution. This regression is called bivariate negative binomial regression with model parameters estimated using the Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) method and Newton Raphson iterations. The formation of this model is based on the Famoye method, while in general it uses the Cheon method. Furthermore, the results of this study were applied to data on the number of maternal and infant deaths in South Sulawesi Province in 2020. The results obtained were the number of puskesmas that had a significant effect on the number of maternal deaths and the proportion of handling obstetric complications, the proportion of pregnant women implementing the K4 program, the proportion of deliveries in facilities health services, the proportion of postpartum mothers implementing the KF2 program and the number of puskesmas have a significant effect on the number of infant deaths.

Abstract

This study aims to test the mediating effect of profitability on the COVID-19 pandemic crisis toward dividend policy in Indonesia. The study was conducted between 2014 and 2020, with samples selected from real estate, property, and construction companies using a purposive sampling technique with pre-determined criteria. Furthermore, covariance-based structural equation modeling was used as the statistical analysis tool to test causality, and a robustness test was conducted on two empirical model approaches. The results showed that the COVID-19 pandemic crisis had a positive effect on profitability, which in turn had a positive effect on dividend policy. In the mediation test, the crisis positively affected dividend policy significantly mediated by profitability. This shows that real estate, property, and construction companies in Indonesia tend to reduce dividend levels during the crisis. Therefore, the management needs to pay attention to the mediating effect of profitability to determine dividend policy during a problem optimally. Investors also need to consider the mediating effect of profitability to obtain optimal returns in the form of dividends, specifically for real estate, property, and construction companies.

Abstract

Geostatistik merupakan suatu metode dalam ilmu statistika yang digunakan dalam distribusi keruangan. Geostatistik memuat  korelasi antar sampel data yang di dalamnya terdapat variabel teregionalisasi yang disebut kriging. Kriging mampu memberikan taksiran yang sangat baik dengan meminimalkan variansi kesalahan melalui korelasi antar sampel titik bor. Identifikasi model dalam semivariogram diperoleh model terpilih yaitu model eksponensial untuk lapisan limonit, model spherikal untuk lapisan saprolit, dan model gaussian untuk lapisan bedrock. Model tersebut terpilih yang menunjukkan nilai RMSE untuk lapisan limonit sebesar 0.13, untuk lapisan saprolit sebesar 0.52, dan lapisan bedrock sebesar 0.15. Penghalusan model pada kurva dideteksi oleh ordinary least square (OLS) yang meberikan hasil yang sangat baik. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan model yang sudah mendekati sill secara asimtotik dan range sama dengan jarak dimana model kurva sudah mendekati 95% maksimum. Dengan demikian, studi ini secara meyakinkan membuktikan bahwa dengan pemilihan model yang tepat dalam semivariogram eksperimental maka memberikan hasil prediksi kadar Ni yang baik dan akurat.

Abstract

Value at Risk (VaR) is statistical method used in risk analysis in stock investments. Stock returns that are not normally distributed cause the risk calculation to be less precise, so to overcome this, the copula method can be used. Copula is a method based on dependencies between variables. The most commonly known copula family is the Archimedean copula which consists of the Clayton, Frank, and Gumbel copula. VaR is expected to be a feasible method to use, so it is important to perform backtesting. In this research, we use data on the daily closing price of PT. Adaro Energy Tbk and PT. Bukit Asam Tbk May 11, 2020 until June 15, 2022. The best copula based on the smallest Empirical copula value is Frank copula. VaR estimates for the 90%, 95%, and 99% confidence levels respectively were 2.688%, 3.545%, and 5.014%. The higher the confidence level, the VaR value is also higher. Based on backtesting results, VaR with Frank copula method is valid at 90%, 95%, and 99% confidence levels.

Abstract

Cluster analysis is a multivariate analysis technique that aims to cluster the observational data or variables into clusters in such a way that each cluster is homogeneous according to the factors used for clustering. This study used the Centroid linkage algorithm that was useful for forming groups based on the distance between centroids and the K-Medoids algorithm that was based on the use of the most centered object (medoid) to group districts/cities and obtained comparison results based on the education indicator data in South Sulawesi. The implementation of the Centroid Linkage Algorithm and K-Medoids on the education indicator data in South Sulawesi in 2018, showed that the grouping of districts/cities in South Sulawesi produced 2 clusters with cluster 1 of 21 districts/cities, and cluster 2 of 3. To determine the best method, it was seen from the value of the Standard Deviation ratio in the cluster 〖(S〗_W) and Standard Deviation between Clusters 〖(S〗_B) showed the same standard deviation ratio (S) in the Centroid Linkage algorithm and K-Medoids that was equal to 104,967.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Multicollinearity is one of the assumption violations in regression analysis. The existence of multicollinearity causes the standard error to increase. Ridge regression is one of the regression analysis approaches that can overcome this problem. Besides multicollinearity, another problem that often occurs is outliers. The existence of outliers causes the data not to be normally distributed. Ridge Robust Least Trimmed Square Regression is a method that can be used to overcome multicollinearity and outlier problems in the data simultaneously in the regression analysis model. The purpose of this study was to obtain the estimation results of the least trimmed square ridge robust regression model on the Health Profile data of South Sulawesi in 2017. From the results and discussion it was found that the least trimmed square ridge robust regression method has an Rsquare value or ?2 which is 88% and an MSE value 1.96, thus indicating that the ridge robust least trimmed square model fits better in dealing with data containing multicollinearity and outliers. Abstract

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease which is still a public health problem in the world.Indonesia is a country with the third highest tuberculosis burden after India and China. South Sulawesi isone of the provinces that contributes to the high number of tuberculosis cases in Indonesia in 2020. Linearregression analysis can be applied to tuberculosis data to determine the variables that affect the numberof tuberculosis cases in South Sulawesi. Problems that often arise in regression analysis aremulticollinearity problems and outliers in the data. One method that can be used to solve multicollinearityand outlier problems is the LASSO LTS regression. The LASSO LTS regression is a modification of theLASSO regression method based on the LTS estimator of joint regression. The variables in the tuberculosisdata in South Sulawesi have multicollinearity problems and there are outliers, so in this study an approachwith the LASSO LTS method was used to overcome them. The results showed that the LASSO LTS methodcould overcome multicollinearity and outlier problems in estimating regression parameters as evidencedby the highest coefficient of determination of 89.41%.

Abstract

Teori Peluang adalah salah satu dari beberapa mata kuliah, yang wajib untuk diajarkan pada program studi Statistika Departemen Matematika. Kenyataannya, terlihat bahwa mata kuliah Teori Peluang bagi sebagian mahasiswa masih dianggap sulit dan membutuhkan pemahaman matematika tingkat tinggi, sehingga mahasiswa sering kurang yakin bahwa dirinya mampu untuk menyelesaikannya. Kuat duagaan hal ini disebabkan dari karakteristik mata kuliah Teori Peluangyang membutuhkan pemahaman Statistik Dasar yang kompleks. Dalam mengatasi adanya mahasiswa yang sering kurang yakin bahwa dirinya mampu untuk menyelesaikan tugas-tugas mata kuliah Teori Peluang, adalah dengan meningkatkan keyakinan diri mahasiswa. Keyakinan diri adalah suatu sikap atau perasaan yakin atas kemampuan diri sendiri. Suatu keyakinan seseorang terhadap segala aspek kelebihan yang dimilikinya dan keyakinan tersebut membuatnya mampu untuk mencapai berbagai tujuan di dalam hidupnya.Salah satu kemampuan yang terkait dengan ranah afektif di antaranya adalah self proficiency yang merupakan salah satu komponen dari kemandirian belajar (self-regulated learning). Self proficiency merupakan kecakapan diri seseorang yang berpengaruh terhadap tindakan, keyakinan diri, maupun upaya, serta ketekunan, dan fleksibilitas dalam perbedaan terkait realisasi dari tujuan individu. Terlihat bahwa dengan meningkatnya self proficiency mahasiswa maka mahasiswa akan yakin bahwa dirinya mampu menyelesaikan tugas-tugas mata kuliah Teori Peluang, berdasarkan indikator statistika.

Abstract

Development of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) a learner needs guidance, help from adults or peers with a higher skill set in order of achieve a higher level of development. The level of knowledge or gradual knowledge is called by Vygotsky as scaffolding. Scaffolding means giving learners helps during the early stages of learning, then reducing the quantity of help and giving the learner opportunity to immediately take on the greater responsibility, after being able to do tasks on their own. One in the statistics Lesson program is Statistical Method, which requires high-level thinking since the students are hoped to be able to analyze statistics inference. In this case, students need help during the learning process in order to understand the concept of Statistical Method material optimally. The help could be in the form of guidance, encouragement, outlining problems into other forms that enable students to be independent. By implementing the ZPD process in the form of scaffolding stage, students are able to understand concepts of Statistical Method material optimally.
