Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of Social Skills Training (SST) on improving social interactions and reducing psychological symptoms in individuals with schizophrenia by comparing pre-test and post-test scores of control and experimental groups. The quasi-experimental research, using a static group comparison design, involved five male post-hospitalized schizophrenia patients aged 19-40 in Nganjuk Regency. The experimental group received SST, while the control group did not. Results from paired sample t-tests indicated no significant change in the control group but showed significant improvement in the experimental group, with post-test scores significantly lower than pre-test scores (p < 0.05). Independent sample t-tests confirmed no significant difference in pre-test scores between groups, but post-test scores revealed significant differences, affirming SST's positive impact. The SST intervention, comprising sessions on communication, friendship, joint activities, handling difficult situations, expressing opinions, and family psychoeducation, significantly enhanced social skills and reduced negative responses. These findings highlight SST as an effective intervention for individuals with mental health issues, promoting better social interactions and reducing relapse rates, thereby supporting its integration into therapeutic practices.

Abstract

The occurrence of turnover begins with the intention of employees to resign from the company or in the world of industrial psychology it is called turnover intention. One of the strongest factors that can influence turnover intention in employees is work engagement, where when work engagement is low, the level of employee turnover intention increases. This study uses a quantitative research method with a sample of 30 respondents. The criteria are: gender, age, length of service. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation and Likert scale questionnaire with a reliability value of 0.911 and for turnover intention with a reliability value of 0.980 in the form of a google form. While data analysis uses a non-parametric correlation test tested with the Spearman's rho test. This test is assisted by the help of SPSS 30. The results of the study are a moderate level of work engagement of 24 respondents (80.0%), followed by a low level of 4 respondents (13.3%) and a high level of 2 respondents (6.7%). The turnover intention level was also dominated by the medium category, with the same number of respondents (24 people, 80.0%), followed by the high level (4 respondents, 13.3%), and the low level (2 respondents, 6.7%). Hypothesis testing of the relationship between work engagement and turnover intention revealed a significant negative correlation, with a correlation coefficient of 0.397 and a significance value of 0.030 (p<0.05). This indicates that the higher an employee's work engagement, the lower their tendency to have turnover intention, and vice versa. The significance of this relationship indicates a low strength.

Abstract

The absence of a father, both physically and psychologically, has a profound impact on the emotional and social development of children, particularly increasing aggressive tendencies in those lacking the support of both parents during upbringing. This study employed a quantitative approach, utilizing questionnaires to measure levels of fatherless and student aggression. Data were collected from 60 students and analyzed using Chi-square tests to determine the relationship between fatherless and aggressive behavior. The findings revealed that the majority of students experienced moderate levels of fatherless. Validity and reliability tests of the questionnaires indicated that the data were trustworthy. The primary outcome of this research is the significant influence of father absence on both verbal and nonverbal aggressive behaviors in students. The Asymp. Sig. value in the Chi-square test was 0.001, indicating a significant relationship. The predominant form of aggressive behavior identified was verbal aggression, such as swearing and insults, while nonverbal aggressive behaviors, like hitting and pinching, were found at lower levels.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a project-based learning strategy in entrepreneurship courses to foster independence and Islamic work ethics among Islamic Psychology students. The background of this research stems from the need for a learning model that not only develops entrepreneurial competence but also integrates Islamic values into students’ work attitudes. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with the subjects of fifth-semester Islamic Psychology students enrolled in the Entrepreneurship course. Data were collected through classroom observations, interviews, and documentation of individual business plan projects, as well as an industrial visit to CV Nugraha Jaya, a small-medium enterprise producing various types of chips. The results indicate that project-based learning encourages students to be active, creative, and independent in designing applicable business ideas. Through contextual learning experiences in the field, students were able to connect entrepreneurial theories with real-world practice while internalizing Islamic work values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and diligence. This strategy not only enhances students’ entrepreneurial skills but also strengthens their Islamic character as future professionals with integrity. Therefore, the project-based learning strategy in entrepreneurship education can serve as an effective alternative to integrate intellectual, professional, and spiritual development within Islamic higher education institutions.
