Abstract

The cosmetics industry is experiencing significant growth, with halal cosmetics emerging as a critical segment driven by religious considerations. This study investigates the factors influencing halal cosmetic purchase decisions among Muslim consumers using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The research explores the complex interplay between product attributes, price, promotion, religiosity, and halal labeling in shaping consumer purchasing decisions. Employing a survey method with 120 respondents, the study reveals that halal labeling is the most dominant factor in purchase decisions, with religiosity playing a crucial mediating role. Product attributes significantly influence religiosity, while price and promotion demonstrate minimal impact. The findings highlight that spiritual considerations and religious conformity far outweigh conventional commercial factors in halal cosmetic purchasing. This research provides valuable insights for marketers and manufacturers in understanding the nuanced decision-making process of Muslim consumers, offering both theoretical contributions and practical implications for the halal cosmetics market.

Abstract

Due to changes in consumer behavior and the development of technology, the acceptance of digital signage in Indonesian society has increased significantly in recent years. This study, focusing on variables such as self-efficacy, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, intention to use, substance norms, self-creation, and actual system usage, examines the factors that influence the adoption of virtual screen technology. The data were collected qualitatively through questionnaires distributed to the Indonesian mobile app users, and a semi-structured meta-analysis (SEMPLS) was used to analyze the samples. The results of this study show that consumer intentions are governed by perceived usefulness and ease of use, and religiosity is a moderating factor. Furthermore, self-efficacy, intention to use, and actual system use were not significantly influenced by anxiety.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Islamic business ethics in enhancing the operational quality and sustainability of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), with a case study of Warteg Grand Bahari in Sawangan Lama, Indonesia. Islamic business ethics—rooted in principles such as honesty (ṣidq), justice (ʿadl), trustworthiness (amanah), social responsibility, and avoidance of riba—are not only normative values but can be applied practically in daily business operations. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the business consistently applies ethical principles in various aspects, including halal food management, fair pricing, employee welfare, and transparent customer service. Moreover, ethical conduct is reinforced by the owner’s entrepreneurial competence, spiritual motivation, and the formation of a value-based organizational culture. Despite financial and competitive challenges, the enterprise remains sustainable through adaptive strategies grounded in Islamic values. This study contributes theoretically by offering an integrative model of ethical entrepreneurship and practically by providing a replicable framework for MSMEs seeking value-based business practices. It is concluded that the integration of ethics, competence, organizational culture, and spirituality fosters business resilience, customer loyalty, and long-term sustainability in a sharia-compliant context. Keywords: Business Ethics, Islamic Entrepreneurship, Halalan Tayyiban, MSMEs, Spiritual Business

Abstract

Waqf is a key Islamic philanthropy instrument for socio-economic empowerment, yet its realization remains far below its potential. This study examines how altruism (X1), waqf literacy (X2), and trust (X3) affect waqf awareness (Y), with religiosity (Z) as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey was administered online to 147 Muslim respondents in Indonesia using a 5-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed with SEM-PLS (SmartPLS) through measurement-model evaluation (outer loadings, reliability, AVE) and structural-model testing (R², bootstrapping). The model explains 73.8% of the variance in religiosity (R²=0.738) and 76.8% in waqf awareness (R²=0.768). Altruism significantly increases religiosity (β=0.575; p0.001) and waqf awareness directly (β=0.218; p=0.002), and also indirectly via religiosity (β=0.275; p0.001). Waqf literacy has a significant direct effect on waqf awareness (β=0.245; p=0.001), but its effect on religiosity is not significant (β=0.116; p=0.068), resulting in a non-significant mediation path (β=0.055; p=0.092). Trust significantly strengthens religiosity (β=0.284; p0.001) but shows no direct effect on waqf awareness (β=0.032; p=0.658); its influence emerges through full mediation of religiosity (β=0.136; p0.001). Religiosity is a strong determinant of waqf awareness (β=0.478; p0.001). These findings imply that strengthening religious-based framing, improving waqf literacy, and enhancing institutional credibility are critical to increasing waqf awareness. Keywords: altruism; religiosity; trust; waqf awareness; waqf literacy

Abstract

The selection of specialization within the Islamic Economics Study Program is a crucial stage in students' academic journey, significantly impacting their competence development and career prospects. However, many students face challenges in choosing a specialization that aligns with their interests and professional aspirations. Therefore, this community engagement initiative aims to provide a structured socialization program introducing the three available specializations: Islamic Economics, Islamic Finance and Banking, and Islamic Business. The socialization was conducted through lectures and interactive discussions, featuring faculty members as key speakers. The results indicate that students require clearer information and more intensive academic guidance in selecting their specialization. This socialization program has helped students understand the curriculum structure, course distribution, and career opportunities associated with each specialization. Based on these findings, it is recommended that periodic socialization sessions be conducted, accompanied by the development of a specialization guide and integration with internship or field study programs to enhance students' understanding of the practical applications of their academic knowledge in professional settings. Keywords: Specialization Socialization, Islamic Economics, Islamic Economics Specialization, Islamic Finance and Banking, Islamic Business, Community Engagement.

Abstract

Keywords : Keputusan Pembelian; Produk Halal; Kesadaran Merek Halal; Kepercayaan; Religiusitas; Statistik Deskriptif

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of promotion, price, celebrity endorsement, brand image, electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM), and halal fashion design on Muslim fashion sales through TikTok Shop in Indonesia using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) involving 150 purposively selected respondents. Results reveal that promotion (β = 0.446, p = 0.006) and halal fashion design (β = 0.361, p = 0.003) significantly drive sales, while celebrity endorsement and e-WOM show no direct impact, challenging traditional e-commerce assumptions. Halal fashion design significantly mediates the price-sales relationship (β = 0.336, p = 0.002), demonstrating Muslim consumers' willingness to pay premium prices for religiously compliant designs, with the model explaining 95.4% of sales variability. These findings suggest halal fashion businesses should prioritize consistent promotional campaigns leveraging TikTok's live streaming features, invest in authentic design excellence showcasing Islamic compliance, and focus on community-driven marketing rather than expensive celebrity endorsements. This research provides the first comprehensive framework for halal fashion marketing in social commerce environments, revealing how traditional e-commerce success factors require adaptation for visual-first platforms where authenticity supersedes conventional trust mechanisms.
