Abstract

Introduction: One way to determine whether a slope is stable or not is by using the safety factor criterion. The method to determine the safety factor using the limit equilibrium method. Administratively the research area is located in the village of Salubomba, Central Banawa District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The results of the study are also expected to be used as one of the basis for planning the design of stable slopes in the area Method: The methods used in this research were qualitative and quantitative. The process in this research was carried out with each method. The process of collecting secondary data and primary data is carried out by Geology and Geological Engineering methods both qualitatively and quantitatively. Results and Discussion: Observations in this study were made in the field in the form of observations of bridging on road slopes. The bruises in the study area are grouped on the basis of their shape and genetics. Through the results of observations and measurements on rock slopes at the research site. Based on data processing on the GEOSTUDIO 2018 R2 software application. Then, the value of the slope safety factor at observation station 1 is 2.316. Conclusion: Based on testing and analysis of the Hoek & Brown collapse criteria method, it can be concluded that the value of the slope safety factor at observation stations 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 is 2.316; 2.029; 1.765; 1.658; 2.622 respectively. At station 4 the level of vulnerability is medium (Landslides can occur), at station 3 is at a low level of vulnerability (Landslides rarely occur), while at stations 1,2 and 5 are at a very low level of vulnerability (Landslides very rarely occur).

Abstract

The distribution of non-volcanic geothermal energy is widely found on the island of Sulawesi, one of which is in Lompio Village, Sirenja District, Donggala Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. It is important to study the geothermal potential in the village in order to learn how the geothermal system works. This study aims to identify the distribution pattern of temperature distribution in shallow soil depths as a manifestation of the geothermal system below the surface and its relation to geothermal manifestations that appear on the surface. This research was carried out through a series of field observations and direct soil temperature measurements in the study area using a thermometer. The results show that the distribution pattern of land temperature distribution in the high-temperature zone is associated with the presence of geothermal manifestation points on the surface (hot springs). The association of temperature and manifestation is possible because the presence of hot springs is an indication of a weak zone for the release of hydrothermal fluid from the geothermal system, which is correlated with the geological structure in the research area.

Abstract

The Kawatuna area has a complex geological structure and lithological condition of metamorphic rock, which is estimated to be a weak zone for hydrothermal solutions to rise and then accumulate as mineralization of veins in the metamorphic rock. Based on this, it makes this area interesting to research. This research aims to identify metal ore minerals and the mineralization characteristics of ores in the research area. The method used is a geological survey of the surface and laboratory analysis through ore microscopic as well as mineral chemistry tests. Based on the results of the research study, it was found that in metamorphic rocks in the Kawatuna area, sulfide metal ore minerals were found including argentite (Ag2S), pyrite (FeS2), chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), sphalerite (ZnS), galena (PbS), and covelite minerals (CuS), Native elements ore minerals include gold (Au), silver (Ag), electrum (Au, Ag), and Oxide ore minerals in the form of hematite (Fe2O3). The mineralization formed is controlled by structures that produce fractures in the rock, which then produces mineralization as the veins of metamorphic rocks. The ore mineralization in the research area occurs through a hypogene process (the formation of a formation zone from primary ore minerals) and a supergene process stage (the formation of a formation or enrichment zone from secondary ore minerals).

Abstract

Disaster education activities on flash floods were carried out in Pulu Village, Dolo District, Sigi Regency as an effort to increase community knowledge and preparedness against the threat of flash floods. The method used was a participatory approach involving the direct participation of the Pulu Village community, the Village Government, community leaders, and Disaster Response Youth. The stages of this community service activity included location observation, preparation, and implementation. The implementation stage was conducted through a socialization or outreach scheme in the form of a lecture. The purpose of the education was to introduce signs of flash flood hazards, risk knowledge, and emergency response planning. The educational activity received positive responses from the community, who actively engaged during the presentation, as well as appreciation from the village government. The presentation of materials accompanied by a simple simulation further enhanced the community’s understanding of self-rescue actions during a flash flood. The results of this activity indicate that interactive disaster mitigation education can effectively build community awareness and preparedness in facing flash flood threats.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the field of education, particularly in the use of software such as Microsoft Word as a learning tool. This study aims to analyze students' understanding of basic and advanced features of Microsoft Word, identify obstacles faced in its academic use, and provide recommendations for effective mentoring strategies. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, using a Likert-scale questionnaire and semi-structured interviews involving 20 students from grades VII–IX and 2 teachers at MTS Muhammadiyah, Bima Regency. The results indicate a notable improvement in learning outcomes among students who actively used Microsoft Word compared to the control group, with the majority (70%) giving highly positive responses to its implementation. In addition to enhancing material comprehension and text processing skills, Microsoft Word has also proven effective in creating a more engaging and interactive learning environment. However, limitations in the use of advanced features were still observed due to insufficient guidance. Therefore, structured training for both teachers and students is essential to optimize the use of Microsoft Word in 21st-century digital learning
