Abstract

Menopause is a natural event to be experienced by every woman and appears to be associated with increased risk for developing type 2 diabetes mellitus. It has been postulated that a diet high in legumes may be beneficial for the prevention of glycosuria. These unique components of soy have been shown to have beneficial effects on glucose and insulin homeostasis. The objective of the present study was to examine the possibility of an association between soy food consumption and risk of glycosuria in postmenopausal women. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 94 postmenopausal women attending Mampang Prapatan Health Center, Mampang Prapatan subdistrict, South Jakarta. Anthropometric measurements were taken using standard instruments and dietary intake was assessed with a validated food-frequency questionnaire. A dipstick semiquantitative assay for urinary glucose was used to define glycosuria (positive). The results showed that 12.8% of postmenopausal women had glycosuria and mean isoflavone intake was 69.5 ± 61.4 g/d. Intake of isoflavone was inversely associated with risk of glycosuria. Compared to women in the lowest quintile of isoflavone intake (Q1), postmenopausal women in the highest quintile (Q5) had a lower risk for glycosuria of 0.30 times that of Q1, which risk was however statistically not significant (OR = 0.30; 95% CI = 0.02 – 3.14). In conclusion, isoflavone may play a role in the prevention of glycosuria (an important indicator of diabetes) among postmenopausal women.

Abstract

Public service tends to be a basic right of citizens and an entry point for the government because it has become its obligation to prosper its citizens. For this reason, this study aims to describe the cultural strategy proposed by David Osborne in seeing the quality of public services in Polongbangkeng Selatan District, Takalar Regency in South Sulawesi Province through the approach of changing habits, touching feelings, and changing mindsets. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews with several informants and field observations. To strengthen the argument this research also uses documentation studies sourced from books, articles, and journals relevant to the topic of this research. The results showed that the three approaches in the cultural strategy have not been implemented optimally. To improve the quality of public services in Polongbangkeng Selatan Sub-district; it is imperative to implement organizational culture strategies, stop unproductive habits, improve service attitudes that arouse awareness, and adopt innovation and technology. Thus, it is expected that public services can become more effective, and efficient, and provide better satisfaction to the community.

Abstract

The strategic achievement of firms, even especially hotel industry is monopolized by the quantitative measures in financial reports. This study advances the neglected conversation of strategic profitability by the perspective hotel managers in recorded responses. They fill the questionnaires regarding the service-based resources, the strategic entrepreneurship capacity in established business, and finally the strategic profitability. 329 managers provide responses by the 5-point Likert scale, and the data serves as the basis for partial-least-square structural-equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings indicate the acceptance of all relationships as service-based resources are critical to build the strategic entrepreneurship, and measurable performance. The mediation test is also supported. This study establishes the critical importance of building a specific strategic measure for service firms, with which policy is catered.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, the role of instructors at training institutions, particularly at the Makassar Religious Training Center, has undergone a significant shift. Instructors no longer function solely as conveyors of material, but also as learning facilitators who integrate innovative approaches to produce competent and adaptive learners. The concept of organizational ambidexterity, encompassing both exploitation and exploration, is particularly relevant in this context. Widyaiswara is required to balance the delivery of standard material with learning innovation. This study aims to describe how widyaiswara delivers ambidexterity-based learning material. The method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive study design, collecting data through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results show that widyaiswara develops learning strategies that combine conventional and innovative methods and utilize digital technology. They also prioritize a learner-centered approach by understanding the characteristics and needs of the participants. Learning evaluation is conducted holistically, covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessments. These results provide practical contributions to the development of a more effective learning model that is relevant to the competency development needs of the civil service. This study is expected to serve as a reference for other training institutions in implementing ambidexterity-based learning. ABSTRAKDalam era transformasi digital, peran widyaiswara di lembaga diklat, khususnya di Balai Diklat Keagamaan Makassar, mengalami pergeseran signifikan. Widyaiswara tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penyampai materi, tetapi juga sebagai fasilitator pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan pendekatan inovatif untuk menghasilkan peserta didik yang kompeten dan adaptif. Konsep ambidexterity organisasi, yang mencakup eksploitasi dan eksplorasi, menjadi relevan dalam konteks ini. Widyaiswara dituntut untuk menyeimbangkan antara penyampaian materi standar dengan inovasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana widyaiswara menyampaikan materi pembelajaran berbasis ambidexterity. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi deskriptif, mengumpulkan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa widyaiswara mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang menggabungkan metode konvensional dan inovatif, serta memanfaatkan teknologi digital. Mereka juga mengedepankan pendekatan yang berpusat pada peserta dengan memahami karakteristik dan kebutuhan peserta. Evaluasi pembelajaran dilakukan secara holistik, mencakup penilaian kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotorik. Hasil ini memberikan kontribusi praktis dalam pengembangan model pembelajaran yang lebih efektif dan relevan dengan kebutuhan pengembangan kompetensi aparatur sipil negara. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi lembaga diklat lain dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran berbasis ambidexterity.
