Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the development of Islamic economics at the grassroots level through the case of Ranting Muhammadiyah Gading, a local branch of the Muhammadiyah organization located in a rural communit. Ranting Muhammadiyah Gading exemplifies this shift by initiating and managing various sharia-based economic activities, including the establishment of Islamic cooperatives, the operation of local Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT), development of community-based micro-enterprises, and the facilitation of Islamic entrepreneurship training. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with local leaders and economic actors, field observations, and documentation of economic programs initiated by the ranting. The findings reveal that the development of Islamic economics in Ranting Muhammadiyah Gading is driven by a combination of strong visionary leadership, active community participation, institutional support from Muhammadiyah's charitable arms (such as local mosques and schools), and collaboration with external Islamic financial institutions. These factors contribute significantly to the growth of local sharia-compliant economic institutions that prioritize justice, mutual benefit, and ethical business conduct. The economic programs have not only improved the economic resilience of the local community but have also strengthened social cohesion and religious awareness among its members. However, the development process is not without challenges, including limited capital, inadequate managerial skills, and uneven levels of Islamic financial literacy among members. In conclusion, the case of Ranting Muhammadiyah Gading demonstrates that grassroots Islamic economic initiatives can serve as effective instruments for community-based economic empowerment.  The experience of this local Muhammadiyah branch offers valuable insights into how faith-based organizations can play a transformative role in developing a sustainable and ethical economic system. This study recommends the enhancement of institutional capacity, continuous education in Islamic economic principles, and expanded cooperation with regional and national sharia financial institutions to further strengthen the impact of Islamic economic practices at the local level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy and religiosity on people's decisions to use Islamic banking services. This study examines the influence of financial literacy partially, religiosity partially, and the influence of both simultaneously on the decision to use Islamic banking services. This study uses a quantitative approach through a survey data collection method. The research sample consisted of 100 respondents from the Kebayoran Lama Selatan District community. The number of respondents was determined using the Slovin formula. Data were obtained through a Likert scale questionnaire instrument and then analyzed using linear regression analysis. First, the data were confirmed for their feasibility through validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests. The results show that financial literacy and religiosity have a positive and significant impact on people's decisions to use Islamic banking services simultaneously (F = 138.482; sig = 0.000). The Adjusted R2 value shows 0.735, explaining that both variables are able to explain 73.5% of the variation in decisions, while the remainder is explained by other factors outside the research model. Partially, financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on the decision to use Islamic banking services (t=3.186; sig=0.002). Religiosity also has a positive and significant effect on people's decisions (t=13.469; sig=0.000). This indicates that religiosity dominates the influence on decisions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has contributed to changes in consumer behavior, particularly through the use of e-commerce and digital financial services such as PayLater. The convenience offered by digital payment systems is assumed to influence consumer consumption patterns. This study aims to examine the effect of PayLater usage, financial literacy, and understanding of Islamic economics on consumer consumption patterns in e-commerce in Colomadu District. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents selected using simple random sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression preceded by validity, reliability, and classical assumption tests, as well as hypothesis testing using t-test and F-test. The results show that partially, PayLater usage and understanding of Islamic economics do not have a significant effect on consumer consumption patterns. In contrast, financial literacy has a significant effect on consumption patterns. Simultaneously, PayLater usage, financial literacy, and understanding of Islamic economics have a significant effect on consumption patterns. These findings indicate that financial literacy plays a more dominant role in shaping consumer behavior compared to the convenience of digital payment systems and the understanding of Islamic economic values.
