Abstract

Technology such as smartphones is growing rapidly. Development of applications such as instant messengers, social networks even easier for everyone to communicate, the distance is not an obstacle now. In addition to ease of access, the smartphone can also give confidence to users, in addition to models of smartphones increasingly stylish, applications that can be installed therein can make smartphone users are always updated with the latest news. The psychological impact caused by the use of smartphones on individuals and society in general about changing behavior and habits before and after use. Nomophobia (no-mobile-phone-phobia) is a type of phobia characterized by excessive fear if someone loses or does not exist near his smartphone. People who experience nomophobia always live in fear and are always anxious to put or keep his smartphone, so always take it anywhere to go. The questionnaire used to nomophobia is an adaptation of the questionnaire Yildirim (2014), composed of 4 dimensions with 20 statements. As for the questionnaire confidence, based on the theory of Justice (2002) derived into 3 dimensions with 46 statements. Results of the reliability values obtained for instruments confidence of 0.944, while the result of the reliability values for nomophobia instrument amounted to 0,939. The results of the data analysis of the correlation between nomophobia and confidence showed a p-value = 0.626> α = 0.05. This shows that there is no relationship between nomophobia with confidence. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the humor in the salesperson at Auto 2000 in Jakarta based on a review of Indigenous Psychology. Research instruments using open-ended questionnaire that is based on the results of focus group discussion. Answers were analyzed using thematic analysis method. Number of subjects , 134 people from five Auto 2000 branch office in Jakarta . The results of the data showed that most subjects utilizing humor as a way of reducing stress . Humor is used mostly quite aggressive humor and enjoy aggressive humor television scene. Aggressive humor is like mocking and bullying on someone. There is also the use of humor as a way to maintain relationships with others, such as negotiate with customers, which is associated with affliative humor . Keywords : Humor , salesperson , Indigenous Psychology

Abstract

The purpose of study is to look at the relationship between self-efficacy and public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University. Bandura (Warsito, 2004) defines self-efficacy is an individual belief that he managed to do something in a certain situation. Bandura (1986) explaines that there are three components, self-efficacy magnitude, generality and strength. Muchlas (in Ghufron & Risnawita, 2011) defines that the term anxiety as a subjective experience of mental distress tensions and pressures that accompaied by conflict or threat. There are three components of public speaking anxiety expressed by Dacey and Fiore (2002), psychological, physiological and social. The subject of this study were Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University force from 2008 to 2011. The study was conducted using quantitative methods. The data was collected by spreading questionnaire. Based on research results, obtained by the correlation coefficient of -0.658, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between self-efficacy with public speaking anxiety in Psychology students of Bunda Mulia University Study, is accepted. Abstract

Humor has become part of Indonesian society . The emergence of humor in almost every aspect of people's lives due to the role of humor in the life of a society that has a central role in human life, namely as a means of entertainment and education to improve the quality of human life. One of the benefits of humor is humor can play an important role in helping the learning process . The purpose of this study was to determine the teachers' humor in Jakarta based Communal Psychology Review . The research method used in this paper is a descriptive qualitative research method using the approach of Communal Psychology . This study begins with a Focus Group Discussion ( FGD ) and will be examined by using the Open -Ended Questionnaire ( OEQ ) . Based on the results of the study found that teachers tend to enjoy aggressive humor . However, in its application , teachers tend to use self -enhancing humor . In accordance with the results of the study found that the teachers also tend to not like to be used by the humorous material by another and vice versa . With a knowing sense of humor , the benefits of humor , humor style , one must know when the right time to catapult humor , so as not to hurt the feelings of others . With the penilitian about humor at teachers based on a review of Communal Psychology is expected to enrich the literature on Communal Psychology as a reference for subsequent indigenous research . Keywords: teachers , humor , psychology customary

Abstract

The process of aging is a natural process of the human face. In this process, the most crucial stage is the stage of aging. In this stage, the human beings are naturally occurring decline or change in the physical, psychological and social which interact with each other. Deterioration in the elderly occurs because cells aging process that can result in organ weakness, physical deterioration, the onset of various diseases, especially degenerative diseases. Eldery is also seen as a time of biological degeneration accompanied by suffering with various diseases period and the awareness that everyone will die, the death anxiety would be an important psychological problems in the elderly. This study uses a qualitative design with the case study method. Qualitative studies as a process trying to get a better understanding of complexity in human interaction. Case study method allowed the researchers to gain a complete understanding of the interrelationships and integrated many facts and dimensions of the particular case to be studied. Keywords: elderly, death anxiety

Abstract

Inmates have a great potential to generate pressures that make them unhappy. This can lead to stress and tend to have a desire to commit suicide. To minimize this they need the ability to look for happiness in order to reduce the negative impact arising from the situation in prisons. There are two factors that affect happiness is internal and external factors. Internal factors, there are 3 (three), namely the satisfaction of the past, optimism about the future, and happiness in the present. External factors are 5 (five), namely social life, religion or religiosity, marriage, money and health. This study used qualitative techniques in analyzing the data. Data were obtained through interviews and observations. The number of research subjects are four people according to specified criteria. The results showed on the subject C supporting factors of happiness comes from internal and external factors likely to be achieved, on the subject W and D tend to be achieved on the factors supporting the happiness derived from external factors alone. On the subject of A tends not achieved the supporting factors of happiness derived from external and internal factors. The conclusion from this study is only one subject that is the subject of C which tends achieved in supporting factors of happiness derived from external and internal factors, the remaining three subjects achieved only on external happiness factors alone, or internal only. If the views of external and internal factors supporting factors of happiness, of 4 subjects only 3 subjects tend to be achieved in the happiness of external factors, while the source of happiness internal factors, of 4 subjects only one subject that tends to be achieved.Keywords: Happiness, Women Prisoners

Abstract

Students can be motivated by many ways dan the most ultimate issue is to understand how and why students are motivated for academic achievement. Self regulated learning (SRL) is defined as a concept about how a leaner becomes the master of his own learning process. The aim of this research is to obtain the decription of self regulated learning of Psychology students of “X” University. SRL in this research was measured by using a questionnaire named Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire (MSLQ). MSLQ is constructed by Self regulated learning by Pintrich, Smith, Garcia dan McKeachie (1991). The research method in this research is descriptive quantitative research. Total subjects in this research were 71 Psychology students who engaged studying in 2012/2013 term. The realibility of this research was 0.953. Data analyzed by Z-score and the result revealed that 34 subjects (47.88%) had low SRL, 26 subjects (36.61%) had moderate SRL, and 11 subjects (15.49%) had high SRL. Thus, this research concluded the description of SRL of Psychology students of “X” University was in low category. Keywords: Self Regulated Learning (SRL), Motivation, Learning Strategy

Abstract

The goal of this research is to see the role of remedial teaching in increasing reading capability on children with mild intellectual disability. According to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR), intellectual disability is individuals with intellectual functions significantly below average, with IQ score about 70 or lower, suffering disorders in adaptive functions in at least two areas, with onset surfacing before 18 years of age. Academically, children with intellectual disability generally suffer delays in reading, writing, and simple arithmetic. Remedial teaching can be used as one of the method to increase reading capability on children with mild intellectual disability. There are two subjects in this research, male and female. Data is collected from observations, interviews, and psychological examination. The result of this research suggests that remedial teaching is able to increase reading capability of children with mild intellectual disability. There is an increase of 27 syllables in reading capability on the first subject, while the second subject have an increase of 24 syllables, comparing between pre-test and post-test data. Keywords: children with mild intellectual disability, reading capability,remedial teaching.

Abstract

PP No. 30 of 1990 on Higher Education defines that the student is enrolled learners and gain knowledge on a particular college, the institution aims to prepare students to be members of the community who have the academic ability and or professionals who can apply, develop and or create science knowledge, technology, and or art. College world is a new world, different from the high school days. Although some teenagers will still live with parents, self-reliance becomes absolutely necessary in managing studies in college. The problems faced by students, especially new students are varied, ranging from adjustment problems, problems in relationships with fellow students, problems with assignments, problems with teachers, and so forth. All kinds of problems faced by students can influence acquisition performance index achieved during one semester. Counseling is one of services that can be provided for students with low GPA. The method in this study is qualitative. Based on the results obtained with the sample number as many as 70 students, obtained a picture of the problem is as follows: 45.7% for introspection disability issues, 21.4% self-concept and family problems, motivational problems 18.6%, 8.6% learning time management issues, and issues of interest by 5.7%. Counseling include steps proposed by Brammer and MacDonald (2003) covers the determination of problems and goals; problem solving, decision making and planning and behavior change. Keywords: mapping problems, low GPA, counseling

Abstract

The number of diseases in the world has many types and varieties, ranging from severe to mild. One of the diseases that are classified as severe and deadly cancer. Cancer is one of the diseases that are very scary for everyone, both in Indonesia and in the world, one of which is breast cancer. Breast cancer not only affects women, but can be attacked by men. In the world, breast cancer experienced by 99 % of women and 1 % of men. The aim of this study was to see how the image psychological well-being in middle age women with breast cancer who have a mastectomy. Psychological well-being itself has several aspects and factors that can be used in patients with breast cancer. The aspect is self-acceptance, positive relations with others, autonomy, environmental mastery  purpose in life, and personal growth. As for the factors that are owned psychological well-being is of age, gender, socioeconomic status, education , and culture.Keywords: breast cancer, middle age, psychological well-being.
