Abstract

This research aims to examine and analyze the role of tolerance education in the world of education, especially for students. The method used by the authors in this research is the library research method, which is a series of activities related to library data collection methods. According to Abdul Rahman Sholeh, library research is research that uses methods to obtain information data by placing existing facilities in libraries such as books, magazines, documents, records of historical stories or pure literature research related to the object of research. The results of this study indicate that tolerance education has a central role in the world of education, especially for students in developing their social life.

Abstract

The interaction between culture and religion in Toraja brings social changes in various aspects of life. The cultured Toraja society gets new spiritual content, while religion gets new means to introduce the richness of its faith. This study examined the forms of religious and cultural interactions expressed in Toraja’s houses of worship, namely the Great Mosque of Rantepao and the Church of St. Theresia Rantepao, as the object of this research. In this case, two things that became the main study were how the acculturation of Islam and Catholicism in Toraja at the place of worship of the Great Mosque of Rantepao and the Church of St. Theresia Rantepao is as well as the difference between Islamic and Catholic acculturation in the Great Mosque and the Church of St. Theresia Rantepao. The interaction process between religion and Toraja culture has succeeded in forming a distinctive religious society in Toraja society, which carries out spiritual teachings well, but also upholds the cultural values in society. The Great Mosque of Rantepao and the Church of St. Theresia Rantepao are a form of acculturation of religious teachings about houses of worship and architecture of the Toraja society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggali lebih dalam upaya inkulturasi yang dilakukan oleh Gereja Katolik di Toraja dalam perayaan Dedikasi dan Peresmian Gereja Katolik St. Petrus Nanggala. Penelitian ini berusaha melihat lebih jauh makna dari simbol-simbol dari budaya lokal yang masih dihidupi terus menerus oleh masyarakat Toraja, termasuk mereka yang telah memeluk agama Katolik. Perpaduan kedua unsur tersebut disebut sebagai Inkulturasi. Inkulturasi adalah salah satu amanat Konsili Vatikan II kepada Gereja Katolik agar terus dipelihara dan dikembangkan. Upaya tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan mengakomodasikan simbol-simbol budaya lokal dengan unsur agama yang sesuai dengan nilai-nilai Injil sebagaimana yang terjadi dalam perayaan dedikasi gereja Katolik St. Petrus Nanggala. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Inkulturasi adalah tugas yang diamatkan oleh Konsili Vatikan II kepada Gereja Katolik agar terus dilaksanakan dan dikembangkan. Inkulturasi merupakan sebuah bentuk penyisipan yang mendalam di mana Gereja ikut terlibat dalam lingkungan masyarakat atau suatu kebudayaan demi untuk pewartaan Injil.

Abstract

Indonesia adalah negara multikultural karena terdiri dari berbagai suku, budaya, agama, dan ras. Namun demikian, Indonesia memiliki semboyan untuk menyatukan perbedaan tersebut yaitu “Bhineka Tunggal Ika”. Salah satu suku bangsa Indonesia adalah suku Toraja. Suku Toraja mendiami Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dan sebagian besar berdomisili di Kabupaten Tana Toraja dan Kabupaten Toraja Utara. Toraja merupakan salah satu tujuan wisata di Indonesia. Saat ini kawasan Toraja sudah banyak dihuni oleh masyarakat dari berbagai daerah di luar Toraja. Namun masyarakat Toraja masih memegang teguh semboyan yaitu "Misa' Kada Dipotou, Pantan Kada Dipomate" (Bersatu kita teguh bercerai kita runtuh). Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode literature review. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah moderasi beragama sangat penting untuk ditanamkan di tempat yang multikultural atau heterogen, khususnya pada masyarakat suku Toraja. Moderasi bukanlah hal baru dalam masyarakat Toraja, namun sudah dipraktikkan sejak lama. Hal ini terlihat dari semboyan “Misa’ Kada Dipotuo Pantan Kada Dipomate” (Bersatu Kita Teguh, Bercerai Kita Runtuh). Padahal semboyan ini merupakan bagian dari moderasi beragama yang dapat dihayati oleh masyarakat Toraja secara turun temurun untuk menjaga kerukunan antar umat beragama yang diwarnai oleh banyak perbedaan namun semuanya menjadi satu.

Abstract

Humans are the most noble creatures of God of all God's creatures. Humans have the rights that provide freedom to obtain protection and a sense of security from any kind of violence. With this human rights, violence in any form cannot be justified. The Sikka tribe is one of the tribes in Indonesia that has a peaceful tradition that descended from generation to generation. Peace tradition which are one of the efforts to prevent violence in the community called Bura Dame customs. The Bura Dame custom can provide a deterrent effect to the perpetrators of acts of violence for the sake of safety and peaceful life. The research method used in this study is a qualitative research using interviews. The custom of Bura Dame which contains anti-violence values has been lived by the Sikka tribe in Lilimori Village.

Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural country because which consist of various ethnic groups, cultures, religions, and races. Nevertheless, Indonesia has a motto to unite these differences, namely "Bhineka Tunggal Ika". One of the Indoensian tribes is the Toraja tribe. The Toraja tribe is live in South Sulawesi Province and mostly domiciled in the Tana Toraja and North Toraja regencies. Toraja is one of the tourist destinations in Indonesia. Currently, Toraja area has been inhabited by many people from various regions outside of Toraja. However, the Toraja people still adhere to the motto, namely "Misa' Kada Dipotou, Pantan Kada Dipomate" (United we stand, divorced we fall). The data collection in this study used the literature review method. The conclusion of this study is that religious moderation is very important to be implanted in a multicultural or heterogeneous place, especially in the Toraja tribal community. Moderation is not a new thing in Toraja society, but has been practiced for a long time. This can be seen from the motto "Misa' Kada Dipotuo Pantan Kada Dipomate" (United We Stand, Divided We Fall). In fact, this motto is part of religious moderation that can be lived by the Toraja people from generation to generation to maintain inter-religious harmony, which is coloured by many differences but all in one.

Not all of the prospective priests of the Makassar Archdiocese, especially those at the Anging Mammiri Higher Seminary, have good writing skills. So it needs to be accompanied intensively through the PkM which we will implement. The hope is that by providing this writing training, prospective priests will become more proficient and skilled and more motivated in producing writings based on their thoughts and reflections.
