Abstract

Environmental problems are a technical, ecological problem and environmental theology, seeing how the relationship between the environment and God through the pesantren. This study aims to examine the theological understanding, awareness, and role of the Al-Faaruuq and Bahrul Hidayah Islamic boarding schools in the environment. Christian's research method is descriptive-qualitative to describe several variables relating to the research problem. This study's data sources, namely primary data sourced from information derived from Kiai or Ustaz caretakers of Al-Faaruuq Islamic boarding school and Islamic boarding school Bahrul Hidayah. Meanwhile, this research's secondary data sources are documents (journals, academic research, articles, books, and magazines). This research aims to understand the environmental theology in Islamic boarding schools al-Faaruuq and Islamic boarding school Bahrul Hidayah through the basic principles of ecological theology, namely; 1). Understanding God's unity and His creation (tauhid) are used as guidance and foothold in environmental doctrine, 2). Seeing God's signs (ayat) anywhere through contemplating nature as God's creation, 3). Become a guardian (caliph) on earth by forming the character of his students who are responsible for being caliph. 4). Maintain God's trust (amanah) and care for the environment because it is a mandate and held accountable later 5). Striving to uphold justice ('adl) limiting the use of nature according to needs, 6). Live a life in balance with nature (mizan), namely through harmonizing the human-God-nature relationship.

Abstract

AbstrakIlmu pengetahuan dengan pelbagai metodenya, telah menempatkan manusia pada jurang keterasingan yang dalam nan gelap. Tak hanya itu, ilmu pengetahuan yang mulanya dipahami sebagai ikhtiar bagi pemuliaan hakikat manusia, malah bergerak mendekati tubir-getir krisis kemanusiaaan multi dimensi. Manusia menjadi teralienasi akan dirinya. Berangkat dari kegagalan manusia kontemporer dalam memahami makna eksistensi manusia dalam proses menuju kesempurnaan diri.  Faktor paling besar penyebab kesalahan  perjalanan manusia saat ini dalam pandangan Misbâh Yazdî karena, ketidakjelasan dan ketiadaan perhatian terhadap hakikat manusia,  manusia lupa akan kemengadaannya. Sehingga manusia alpa bahwa ia punya potensi  untuk menjadi manusia sempurna.Persoalan fundamental ini telah menyebabkan manusia meninggalkan fitrah yang benar dan terjerumus ke lembah kesesatan.  visi manusia hari ini merupakan sesuatu yang tidak alamiah sekaligus menyimpang dari alur penciptaan sang Khaliq. Oleh karena itu, Misbâh Yazdî berusaha memfokuskan diri dalam merenungi secara mendalam sejumlah hasrat-hasrat fitri dan tendensi-tendensi (kecendrungan) alamiah yang berperan penting yang dalam pandangan Misbâh Yazdî bersifat mendasar dan prinsipil dan terdapat pada manusia. Pada terang ini, Misbâh Yazdî mengembangkan suatu skema konseptual yang menarik. Hal itu dapat ditahbiskan dengan usahanya menelusuri hakikat manusia melalui filsafat wûjud  kemudian bergerak melalui analisis epistemology. Ziarah menyusuri apa yang direnungkan Misbâh Yazdî, penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dan heuristika, dengan penelitian ‘studi kepustakaan’ (library reseach), guna melingkupi persoalan: a) Bagaimanakah konsep Manusia Sempurna dalam diskursus Filsafat Islam?;  b). Konsep Manusia sempurna seperti apakah yang dimaksud oleh Misbâh Yazdî?. Adapun sumber rujukan dan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah karya Misbâh Yazdî, beserta berbagai sumber lainnya yang dapat mendukung dalam pembahasan. Berbekal pada konsep ontology Mullâ Shadrâ tentang harakah jawhariyyah, Misbâh Yazdî, menyimpulkan kesempurnaan manusia sebagai evolusi dan gerak menyempurna (harakah istikmâliyah). Melalui prinsip hudûrî sebagai induk semua pengetahuan,  namun pengetahuan burhânî yang di dasarkan pada silogisme-demonstratif dan pengetahuan hushûlli . Akhirnya, apa yang ditelusuri Misbâh Yazdî, merupakan bagian penting dari perjalanan ikhtiar manusia dalam menggapai kesempurnaannya yakni untuk memahami asal dan tujuan manusia. Melalui ilmu dan iman, dan  iman mesti diikuti oleh amal perbuatan. Jika seseorang dapat menyaksikan hakikat kediriannya, maka ia akan menyadari bahwa kediriannya  ditopang oleh Illah-nya.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami metode dakwah mujadalah. Riset ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitik. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis berbagai literatur dan fenomena dakwah kontemporer. Melalui studi ini, disimpulkan bahwa dalam konteks majelis taklim, metode dakwah mujadalah dapat diaplikasikan melalui berbagai media komunikasi modern seperti televisi, radio, internet, buletin, majalah, dan buku. Dalam era perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, media-media ini dapat menjadi sarana efektif untuk menyampaikan pesan dakwah kepada masyarakat. Secara keseluruhan, penerapan metode dakwah mujadalah di majelis taklim dapat meningkatkan religiusitas umat, membangkitkan pemahaman yang lebih dalam, mengembangkan kecerdasan, serta memberikan sumbangsih dalam pembinaan dan peningkatan kualitas hidup umat Islam. Metode ini relevan dengan perkembangan zaman dan memberikan alternatif yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat yang semakin kritis dan beragam dalam berpikir.

Abstract

Kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang pesat telah menciptakan sebuah era di mana pengetahuan, teknologi, dan informasi menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari pendidikan. Evolusi ini mengharuskan lembaga pendidikan tinggi Islam untuk mengadopsi praktik manajemen pembelajaran yang efektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui metodologi tinjauan literatur. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa mengintegrasikan teknologi digital ke dalam Pendidikan Islam secara signifikan meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan keterlibatan mahasiswa. Dosen memainkan peran penting dalam membina keterampilan dan pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan. Inovasi dalam pembelajaran berbasis teknologi digital melibatkan penemuan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran aplikasi teknologi digital. Komponen-komponen utama seperti konten digital, desain kurikulum, pelatihan dosen, dan infrastruktur pendukung sangat penting untuk keberhasilan penerapan teknologi digital dalam pendidikan. Meskipun teknologi digital meningkatkan keterlibatan mahasiswa dan efisiensi pembelajaran, peran dosen tetap penting sebagai fasilitator dan manajer proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Environmental issues have become an integral part of Muslim life. When Islam looks at ecological issues, environmental ideas emerge based on a form of constructive theology with a focus on the relationship between humans, nature and God. Religious doctrine has shown great concern for the environment. Humans, in their relationship with God, also relate to nature as fellow creatures of God. In dealing with God, humans need nature as a means to know and understand God. Pesantren as an Islamic educational institution cannot be separated from environmental issues. Based on the researcher's observation, it was found that in the pesantren environment there was still a lack of awareness in managing the environment. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative method with a religious phenomenology approach in analysing the awareness of environmental theology in Al-Faaruuq salafi pesantren and Bahrul Hidayah Cicalengka pesantren. The stages in this research are; orientation, exploration, and member check. The data sources taken are purposive sampling, namely figures who are considered important such as kiai/ustaz, santri, environmental activists, and the surrounding community. While the data collection process is done through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation. The findings in the first study, humans as God's representatives (khalifah), therefore humans must preserve nature. Because nature is His entrustment. Second, God must be used as the centre of the cosmos. In this case, it is the centre of teaching (tawhid), all human actions must go to God. Third, in Pesantren Al-Faaruuq and Pesantren Bahrul Hidayah, preserving the environment is obligatory, because it aims for the safety, welfare and sustainability of humans, even for the implementation of prayer rituals requires water to wash (wudu) and put nature as a theophany

Abstract

This research aims to comprehensively investigate the implementation of the 21st-century independent learning curriculum, with a specific focus on critical thinking literacy, life skills, and mastery of tools for work. A qualitative research approach was employed, enabling in-depth description and elaboration of the implementation process and educational competencies associated with 21st-century learning. Data collection for this study was conducted through a thorough analysis of relevant literature sources, utilizing library research as the primary method. The research findings demonstrate that the implementation of the independent learning curriculum (KMB) within the context of 21st-century education represents a viable and promising approach to enhance the overall quality of learning in educational institutions. Through the strategic implementation of KMB, educators can effectively facilitate a more interactive, enjoyable, and efficient learning environment, thereby fostering meaningful educational experiences for students. Furthermore, KMB proves instrumental in nurturing students' ability to engage in autonomous learning, collaborative endeavors, and the cultivation of critical and creative thinking capacities

Abstract

Contemporary education is increasingly co-opted by a neoliberal logic that emphasizes standards, productivity and compliance, to the exclusion of the transformational role of education. Paulo Freire and Jürgen Habermas offer philosophical frameworks capable of restoring education as a liberatory practice through the development of critical consciousness and communicative action. This study aims to synthesize the thoughts of Freire and Habermas to design an emancipatory curriculum design framework that fosters critical consciousness, democratic participation, and transformative agents in the educational context. This research uses a qualitative-philosophical approach based on conceptual analysis and critical hermeneutics. Data were collected through the study of primary texts, secondary discourses, as well as interviews and focus group discussions with educators from different levels of education. Results show that Freire's dialogical pedagogy and Habermas' communicative action can reinforce each other in creating reflective, democratic and transformative learning spaces. Participants reported increased student engagement, development of an ethic of discourse, as well as strengthening of social awareness. However, structural barriers such as rigid curriculum and evaluative pressure hinder the full implementation of this approach. The synthesis of Freire-Habermas philosophy shows significant potential in curriculum design that supports learner emancipation. Systemic reform and teacher professional development are key to realizing a more just, reflective and democratic vision of education.

Abstract

In the face of increasingly complex educational challenges, there is a growing demand for leadership models that integrate ethical and humanistic values, particularly in Islamic elementary schools. This study explores the operationalisation of kindness-based leadership at MI Fitrah Insani, Leles, Garut, as a strategic response to the limitations of performance-oriented and hierarchical leadership paradigms. This study addresses the gaps in the literature regarding the implementation of ethical leadership grounded in Islamic values by examining how empathy, participatory communication, and ethical responsibility shape school culture and educational quality. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and a document analysis. Triangulation of these methods enabled a comprehensive understanding of institutional dynamics, leadership practices, and their impact on school climate, teacher motivation, and student engagement. The findings reveal that kindness-based leadership at MI Fitrah Insani fosters an emotionally safe and inclusive school environment. Through participatory decision-making, structured communication, and consistent appreciation practices, the leadership model contributes to improved teacher loyalty, pedagogical innovation, and heightened student participation. Despite structural, cultural, and operational barriers such as bureaucratic rigidity and limited professional development, adaptive strategies, including ethical leadership training, policy reform, and digital communication platforms, have enhanced the effectiveness and sustainability of this model. This study concludes that kindness-oriented leadership is not merely a normative ideal but a transformative practice that aligns with Islamic ethical traditions and addresses the academic and moral dimensions of education. The findings offer practical implications for Islamic schools seeking to cultivate character-driven and ethically grounded leadership.

Abstract

The rapid development of globalization has posed significant challenges to Muslim identity, particularly among the younger generation. Along with the intensification of global cultural flows, the erosion of Islamic moral values has become increasingly apparent. This study explores the educational reconstruction efforts needed to preserve Islamic civilisation by analyzing the educational philosophy of Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas. This research employs a qualitative library approach by analyzing Al-Attas’s major works and relevant secondary literature. Data analysis includes thematic categorization, interpretative reading, and structured descriptive synthesis of Al-Attas’s epistemological and pedagogical frameworks. Findings indicate that Al-Attas’s philosophy of education emphasizes the purification of knowledge through Westernization and the restoration of adab (ethical discipline) as the foundation of education. He criticizes Western epistemology as secular, dualistic, and skeptical, and proposes a tawhid (unitive) epistemology rooted in Islamic metaphysics. Al-Attas’ model integrates the disciplines of fardhu’ ain and fardhu kifayah, and suggests methods based on tawhid and metaphorical reasoning. This offers a transformative educational paradigm relevant to global society. Al-Attas’s adab-centred concept of education provides a comprehensive alternative to Islamic educational reform, harmonizing knowledge, ethics, and spiritual goals in addressing contemporary moral crises.
