Abstract

Real Work Lecture (KKN) is an important component in higher education which aims to develop student competencies. KKN in Bintang Meriah Village is a program that provides opportunities for students to interact directly with the people in the village. This study aims to reveal the role of KKN as part of developing student competencies in Bintang Meriah Village. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The results of the study show that KKN in Bintang Meriah Village makes a significant contribution to developing student competence. KKN gives students the opportunity to interact with various levels of society in Bintang Meriah Village. This helps students develop social competencies, such as the ability to communicate, work in teams, and understand cultural differences. Through direct experience in Bintang Meriah Village, students can understand in depth the social and environmental issues faced by the village community. This helps them become students who are more concerned about these problems. KKN provides valuable practical experience for students outside the academic environment. This can help them develop job skills relevant to their field of study. This study concludes that KKN in Bintang Meriah Village has an important role in developing student competence, both from a social, academic, and moral perspective. Therefore, KKN programs in villages should continue to be supported and improved so that students can make a greater positive contribution to society and develop themselves holistically.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui anyaman tikar daun mengkuang, dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana manfaat ekonomis usaha anyaman tikar daun mengkuang dan apa saja penghambat dan pendukung dari usaha anyaman tikar daun mengkuang di desa Bandar Sono Kecamatan Nibung Hangus Kabupaten Batubara. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif deskritif. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini adalah teknik wawancara terstruktur, wawancara mendalam adalah dilakukan dengan kasi kesejahteraan dan ketua pengrajin anyaman tikar. Sebagai pendukung penelitian ini yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan teknik observasi dan dokumentasi. Dari penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa Pemberdayaan Masyarakat melalui anyaman tikar dengan melakukan pelatihan kepada masyarakat di mana pelatihan berupa penjelasan tentang bagaimana cara pembuatan anyaman tikar daun mengkuang agar masyarakat ikut serta untuk membudidayakan atau memberdayakan anyaman tikar agar mampu meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat, bisa memberantas pengangguran, menciptakan lapangan pekerjaan, memanfaatkan daun mengkuang dan memanfaatkan waktu sengang masyarakat. Terbukti dengan adanya kerajinan anyaman tikar daun mengkuang ini bisa mencukupi kehidupan keluarga dan sedikit lebih membantu para suami.

Abstract

One of the main problems in Indonesia is waste. Piles of waste are an inseparable part of life because waste will continue to exist along with human activities. This research aims to explain the strategies implemented by the village government to increase community awareness in managing waste and the obstacles faced in implementing the strategy in Pematang Johar village, Labuhan Deli sub-district. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The place of this study was Pematang Johar Village, Labuhan Deli Sub-district. Data collection techniques were observation, interview and documentation. The data analysis technique was carried out by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Based on the results of the study, it shows that one of the effective strategies to increase public awareness in managing waste is through the establishment of waste banks. The existence of waste banks can encourage community participation in the waste management process, starting from collection, sorting, to the transformation of waste into materials that can be reprocessed with economic value. In addition, there are several obstacles faced in the implementation of waste banks in Pematang Johar Village such as time constraints due to daily work and financial constraints in running the operations of the suka mulia waste bank, including operational costs, equipment acquisition, and employee payroll. The conclusion of this research is that one way to increase the awareness of Pematang Johar Village residents about waste management is to implement a waste bank program. The existence of a waste bank in this village can encourage active community involvement in activities. However, there are several obstacles in the implementation of this program in Pematang Johar Village, such as financial constraints. In addition, many residents have difficulty managing their time to participate in waste bank activities.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the da'i's communication techniques in preventing the promiscuity of Muslim youth in the Sijambi sub-district, Tanjungbalai city. This research uses descriptive qualitative research with observation techniques, interviews, and document review studies. The location of this research was carried out in the Sijambi sub-district, Datuk Bandar sub-district, Tanjungbalai city, North Sumatra province with four informants. In this study, it can be concluded that the causes of promiscuity in the Sijambi sub-district are lack of parental attention, having a family that is not harmonious, getting influence from peers, and the influence of social media. Several communication techniques used by preachers to prevent promiscuity are persuasive communication techniques and interpersonal communication such as sharing, venting, or preaching. The obstacle of preachers in spreading preaching about promiscuity in the Sijambi sub-district of Tanjungbalai city is that there are parents who are overprotective, teenagers are less enthusiastic, preachers deliver boring material, and there is often competition between preachers. The solution to this problem is to provide direction to parents, preach with slang or current words, and strengthen relationships between preachers.

Abstract

Lingkungan awal bagi seorang anak adalah keluarganya, yang terdiri atas orang tua dan saudara kandung. Setiap keluarga memiliki cara tersendiri dalam membesarkan anak-anak mereka, sering kali dengan melanjutkan pola pengasuhan dari generasi sebelumnya. Cara orang tua berinteraksi dengan anak dalam mempengaruhi kemandiriannya disebut sebagai pola pengasuhan. Anak-anak yang mandiri menunjukkan perilaku eksploratif, kemampuan mengambil keputusan, percaya diri, dan kreatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pola pengasuhan yang mendukung pengembangan kemandirian remaja dalam hal pengambilan keputusan, pengendalian diri, serta tanggung jawab. Riset ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Ayah, ibu, dan remaja di Desa Sumbul, Kecamatan Sinembah Tanjung Muda Hilir, bertindak sebagai informan penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi, wawancara, dan observasi, menggunakan sumber data primer dan sekunder. Analisis data dilakukan dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan validasi data. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa pola pengasuhan orang tua dapat membantu remaja menjadi lebih mandiri dalam berbagai aspek seperti pengambilan keputusan, pengendalian emosional, dan tanggung jawab. Pola pengasuhan demokratis terbukti mampu meningkatkan kemandirian pada remaja.

Abstract

Social media is increasingly familiar in Indonesia today and is used in various activities such as entertainment, creativity, business, and so on, including being used as a da'wah medium. Ustadz Muhammad Eko Marpaung is one of the ustadz who uses Instagram as his da'wah medium. This research analyzes the da'wah strategy by Ustadz Muhammad Eko Marpaung through the Instagram account. This research approach is qualitative, with instruments of observation, documentation, and interviews. The subject of this study is Ustadz Muhammad Eko Marpaung as a key informant, then several of his followers who were taken by snowball sampling, and other Instagram users who are seen as able to add information to the needs of this research. Data analysis techniques are done through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawn. Confirmability, credibility, and dependability tests carry out the data validity assurance technique. The study results show that: Ustadz Mhd Eko Marpaung's da'wah strategy through @_Saifullah Instagram account has proven effective in reaching and influencing the audience. This strategy can increase engagement and follower growth by combining educational content, relevance of current issues, and active interaction. In the future, content diversification and feedback management can be areas that need to be considered to increase da'wah's effectiveness further.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the Implementation of Islamic Counseling Services as an Effort to Reduce Work-Related Stress among Police Officers in the North Sumatra Regional Police. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, involving one counselor and four police officers as informants. The research took place at the Human Resources Bureau of the North Sumatra Regional Police from June 20 to June 30, 2023, utilizing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using a four-step analysis process: data collection, data reduction, data display, and data verification. Data validity was ensured through source, method, and time triangulation. The findings revealed that the application of Islamic counseling services in reducing work-related stress among police officers involved regular spiritual guidance sessions and counseling, addressing factors like location mismatch, family issues, economic concerns, heavy task pressures, and imbalanced income and expenses.

Abstract

Instagram has become a strategic platform for preachers to reach a wider audience. One of the da'wah influencers on Instagram media is @Hawaariyyun, he is famous for his preaching content in spreading Islam on Instagram social media. However, during competition, da'wah needs to be packaged persuasively to attract attention and interest and be accepted by the audience. This article analyzes the persuasive da'wah strategy used by the Instagram account @Hawaariyyun using four methods: Association, Integration, Pay-off, and Icing. This research aims to identify and implement these methods in the content of da'wah and their influence on mad'u. This research shows that Hawaariyyun effectively uses this method to build emotional connections, increase credibility, and motivate the audience to accept the da'wah message.

Abstract

Before the existence of UMKM products of Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School, there were many unemployed in Bah Joga Village, and the income of the local community only came from livestock activities, palm weaving such as gedek which was then bought and sold, and agricultural activities, but many people became farm laborers in fields that were not theirs. This caused the community not to get maximum income and were far from welfare. The purpose of this study was to examine the use of UMKM products at Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School in improving the economic welfare of the community in Bah Joga Village, Jawa Maraja Bah District, Jambi, Simalungun Regency. The research method used was a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study showed that UMKM products of the Islamic boarding school, such as processed foods, handicrafts, and agricultural products, made a significant contribution to encouraging the economic growth of the surrounding community. Through community-based marketing and partnership networks, these products were able to increase the income of students, alumni, and the local community. Collaboration between Islamic boarding schools and the community in developing MSMEs is the creation of a mutually beneficial relationship (mutualistic symbiosis) in building economic independence based on Islamic values. In addition, the entrepreneurship training program held by Islamic boarding schools also equips the community with the skills needed to become entrepreneurs independently. Thus, the utilization of MSME products from Darul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School has been proven to contribute to improving the economic welfare of village communities in a sustainable manner. Thus, Islamic boarding schools not only function as educational institutions, but also as the main drivers of the economy that have a positive impact on the welfare of society as a whole.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the Planning of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of North Sumatra in Educating Teenagers about the Dangers of Online Gambling. The method used is qualitative research that analyzes facts in the field that produce data in the form of words and information from informants.  The data collection techniques used in this research are observation, interview and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the North Sumatra Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership Planning has planned an educational program on the dangers of online gambling to teenagers. The planning includes collaborating with legal institutions, socialization, seminars, program development, khatib jum'at and youth coaching.  Challenges faced such as the resistance of the parties to the practice of online gambling, the number of online gambling sites that have not been blocked and the limitations of PWM in reaching remote areas.
