Abstract

Energy transportation and distribution are crucial components in the national energy system, serving as the main link between energy sources and consumers. The efficiency of both systems is crucial to maintain the stability of energy supply and minimize energy loss during the distribution process. This study aims to explore the importance of energy transportation and distribution in the context of national energy security and the geographical and energy infrastructure challenges in Indonesia. Using a literature study method, this study collects and analyzes literature from various academic sources and relevant reports. The results show that an efficient energy transportation and distribution system plays a major role in reducing the energy gap between regions, expanding energy access to remote areas, and supporting sustainable economic development. In addition, Indonesia's geographical challenges as an archipelagic country, such as the distance between islands and population inequality, widen the energy infrastructure gap between the western and eastern regions. Investment in energy infrastructure development, especially in disadvantaged areas, and the integration of renewable energy are important steps in strengthening national energy security. This study concludes that in order to achieve better and more equitable energy security, inclusive and sustainable energy infrastructure development policies and strategies are needed.

Abstract

PT. XYZ merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang industri kimia, khususnya memproduksi berbagai macam produk bahan kimia. Cooling tower menjadi salah satu komponen penting dalam sistem pendingin di industri kimia untuk mendukung proses sistem pendinginan dengan cara mengontakan air dengan udara sekitar, sehingga air menjadi dingin. Cooling tower tipe induced draft counterflow yang digunakan mengalami permasalahan pada filler yaitu terbentuknya akumulasi pengotor seperti debu, lumpur, dan mikroorganisme. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengotor yang terbentuk pada filler terhadap kinerja cooling tower, serta memberikan wawasan untuk mengatasi terbentuknya pengotor tersebut. Analisis dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode range, approach, efektivitas pendingin dan kapasitas perpindahan panas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa terbentuknya akumulasi pengotor pada filler menyebabkan kenaikan suhu air pendingin dari 30°C menjadi 33°C, penurunan efektivitas cooling tower sebesar 17.8%, dan kapasitas perpindahan panas juga menurun dari 686.3 kW menjadi 274.5 kW. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa pengotor yang menempel pada filler mengganggu proses perpindahan panas pada cooling tower sehingga diperlukan perawatan secara berkala untuk menjaga kinerja sistem pendingin.

Abstract

Energi terbarukan merupakan energi yang berasal dari sumber yang terbarukan, biasanya terkait siklus yang ada di alam yang berulang dalam periode yang relatif pendek, seperti panas bumi, bahan bakar biomassa, hydropower, sinar matahari, bahan bakar nabati, biogas, dan energi angin. Sumber energi di Sumatera Barat sendiri memiliki potensi energi air sebesar 1.100 megawatt, bionergi sebesar 923,1 megawatt, energi angin tiga sampai enam meter per detik yang berpotensi menghasilkan energi 428 megawatt. Lalu energi surya 4,80 kilowatt-hour meter kuadrat per hari yang berpotensi menghasilkan energi sebesar 5.898 megawatt, energi samudera dengan panjang garis pantai 186.500 kilometer, dan panas bumi sebesar 1705 megawatt electric. Hasil simulasi HOMER menunjukkan bahwa penentuan konfigurasi desain sistem PLTH yang paling optimal untuk diterapkan di Kampung Bayang Janiah berdasarkan Total NPC terendah adalah integrasi antara microhydro-photovoltaic array-battery bank-bidirectional converter.

Abstract

The increasing demand for electrical energy in Indonesia, driven by rapid economic growth, necessitates a comprehensive evaluation of the country’s electrical energy security across four critical aspects: availability, accessibility, acceptability, and affordability. Despite significant expansion in power generation capacity, with coal-fired plants still dominating the energy mix, environmental concerns regarding emissions pose major challenges to sustainability. This study aims to analyze Indonesia’s electrical energy security by quantitatively assessing 20 key indicators from 2008 to 2023 and projecting trends to 2030 and 2045. Employing data normalization and a rhombus area graphical model, the research integrates multi-dimensional data to provide a holistic security index. Results reveal improvements in availability, accessibility, and affordability over time, but acceptability declines due to rising greenhouse gas emissions, underscoring the environmental trade-offs of fossil fuel reliance. The findings highlight the urgent need for policy and technological interventions such as expanding renewable energy, implementing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technologies, and promoting electrification of industrial and transport sectors. This study offers crucial insights for policymakers and stakeholders to balance energy growth with environmental sustainability, guiding Indonesia towards a secure and cleaner energy future.
