Abstract

Background Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Most the people who contracted the COVID-19 had has experience mild to moderate symptoms, and will recover without special treatment. Purpose This research was going to find out the factors related to people's interest in taking the COVID-19 vaccination in Kebun Kelapa Village in 2022. The design This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in Kebun Kelapa Village. The population in this research was the people in Kebun Kelapa Village, totaling 3094 people. The sampling technique was accidental sampling using the slovin formula, namely 97 respondents using unviariat and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results research conducted using the chi-square test on occupations with an interest in participating in the COVID-19 vaccination p-value = 0.003, knowledge p-value = 0.000, attitude p-value = 0.005 and age p-value = 0.001. The conclusion in this research in this study shows that there is a significant relationship between work, knowledge, attitudes, and age with an interest in taking the COVID-19 vaccination in Kebun Kelapa Village in 2022. It is suggested that it can be used as input and information to the community in Kebun Kelapa Village so they can take the COVID vaccination -19

Abstract

This study investigates the enhancement of English speaking skills through the storytelling method at SMK Budi Utomo Binjai in 2022. The research aims to determine the effectiveness of storytelling as a pedagogical tool in improving students' verbal communication abilities in English. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests administered before and after the intervention. Findings indicate a significant improvement in students' speaking skills, with notable advancements in fluency, vocabulary usage, and confidence. The storytelling method proved to be an engaging and effective strategy, fostering a more interactive and participatory classroom environment. These results suggest that incorporating storytelling into language learning curricula can significantly enhance students' speaking proficiency, offering valuable implications for educators seeking innovative approaches to teaching English.

Abstract

In this study, English language learning through outbound activities aimed to enhance students' cooperation and communication skills at SMK Negeri 2 Binjai in 2022. The research focused on utilizing outbound activities as a method to improve students' English language proficiency by fostering teamwork and effective communication. The objectives included evaluating the effectiveness of outbound activities in enhancing students' cooperation and communication skills, assessing students' perceptions towards English learning through outbound, and identifying the implications of incorporating outbound activities in English language education. Methods involved observation, interviews, and surveys to gather data on students' participation, perceptions, and learning outcomes. Findings indicated a significant improvement in students' cooperation and communication skills after engaging in outbound activities. The study concludes that incorporating outbound activities in English language learning can effectively promote teamwork, communication, and language proficiency among students.

Abstract

The family is the first person if the patient experiences a heart attack. The results of the study show that there is a relationship between family attitudes and actions regarding the incidence of heart attacks. The family has a very important role in patient care. This can be interpreted as meaning that family involvement in handling heart attacks needs to be carefully considered. The family can experience all the problems, confusion, lack of knowledge and obstacles when helping someone who has had a heart attack. This heart attack can occur anywhere and at any time. Often people are late in carrying out initial treatment, seeking information and help. The situation that occurs in society, most people are not aware of the symptoms of a heart attack. So people don't know if they are having a heart attack, receive treatment late, and even die before arriving at the hospital.

Abstract

Hypertension is a strong and important risk factor for cardiovascular diseases and kidney diseases, such as coronary heart disease, heart failure, and kidney failure. High blood pressure can be influenced by genetic factors, environmental factors and the interaction between the two factors.This study aims to determine the relationship between hypertension and lifestyle in coronary heart disease patients at Wulan Windy Marelan General Hospital in 2024.The research design used in this study uses an analytical survey method with a cross-sectional approach. This study was conducted at the Heart Polyclinic of Wulan Windy Marelan General Hospital, Medan in 2024. The population in this study were coronary heart patients totaling 4676 respondents from December 2023-February 2024. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with reference to the Slovin formula, namely 100 respondents. The data collection instrument used univariate and bivariate analysis. The test used was the Chi-Square test. Research results Based on statistical tests using the chi-square test, the p-value = (0.038) (α = <0.05) is obtained, which is less than or not more than α = 0.05, which means that Ho is rejected, Ha is accepted, which means that there is a significant relationship between hypertension and lifestyle in coronary heart disease patients at Wulan Windy Marelan General Hospital in 2024.The conclusion in this study shows that statistically there is a relationship between hypertension and lifestyle in coronary heart disease patients at Wulan Windy Marelan General Hospital in 2024.

Abstract

Stroke is the world's second biggest cause of death after heart attacks. Ischemic stroke is caused by a blockage of blood vessels in the brain, resulting in a lack of oxygenated blood flow and the degeneration and death of brain tissue. This study aimed to determine the relationship between sleep quality and functional status of post-stroke patients at Mitra Medika Hospital Tanjung Mulia Medan. This is analytical survey research with cross sectional approach. The population of study was 126 respondents and the sample was determined using SPSS application obtained 56 respondents. The measurement of sleep quality used PSQI questionnaire and functional status using the Barthel index. Data analysis used pre-analysis, univariate and bivariate. The result of chi-square statistical test obtained that the P value was 0.009. Where the value was smaller than the α value of <0.05, then there was a relationship between sleep quality and functional status of post-stroke patients at Mitra Medika Hospital Medan. The results showed that 77.1% of respondents had poor sleep quality. 14.4% of respondents were in the category of moderate dependence functional status. The results of the analysis obtained a p value = 0.000 (<α=0.05) with a degree of relationship of 0.009. The study concluded that there is a significant relationship between sleep quality and functional status in post-stroke patients at Mitra Medika Hospital. It is suggested that the nursing profession increase sleep quality in post-stroke patients in order to accelerate functional status recovery.

Abstract

Pasien Jantung Koroner (PJK) adalah terganggunya fungsi jantung akibat penyempitan pada arteri koroner atau pembuluh darah koroner yang dapat dicegah dengan perilaku hidup sehat. Penyempitan pada arteri koroner diakibatkan oleh adanya penumpukan lemak di area pembuluh darah arteri koroner sekitar jantung dan dapat disebut arterosclerosis. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Hubungan Karakteristik Pasien Dan Kepatuhan Minum Obat Terhadap Kualitas Hidup Pasien Jantung Koroner Di RSU Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia. Desain penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Survei Analitik dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua pasien di Poli Jantung yang berjumlah 88 responden. Pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Dengan mengacu pada rumus slovin. Berdasarkan hasil analisa dengan menggunakan uji Chi-Square test memperlihatkan bahwa, terdapat hubungan signifikan antara usia terhadap kualitas hidup PJK (p value=0,054), tidak terdapat hubungan signifikan antara jenis kelamin terhadap kualitas hidup PJK (p value =0,596), terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pendidikan terhadap kualitas hidup PJK (p value=0,001), terdapat hubungan signifikan antara pekerjaan terhadap kualitas hidup PJK (p value=0,035), terdapat hubungan signifikan antara kepatuhan minum obat terhadap kualitas hidup PJK (p value=0,004), semua pasien di Poli Jantung RSU Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara statistik ada hubungan karakteristik pasien terhadap kualitas hidup pasien penyakit jantung koroner di Poli Jantung yang sangat berhubungan adalah Pendidikan. Saran bagi RSU Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan, promosi kesehatan yang berhubungan dengan karakteristik pasien dan kepatuhan minum obat terhadap kualitas hidup pasien jantung koroner.

Abstract

Stroke iskemik adalah salah satu jenis penyakit tidak menular dan penyebab kematian nomor dua di seluruh dunia, biasanya disebabkan oleh pembekuan darah atau penyempitan pembuluh darah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahi hubungan antara gaya hidup dengan resiko terjadinya stroke iskemik pada lansia di RSU Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia 2025. Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan Cross Sectional Study dan uji chi-square. Populasi terdiri dari 63 pasien Stroke iskemik, dan sampel di bulatkan menjadi 63 responden menggunakan total sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang valid, dan dianalisis secara univariat dan bivariat. Dari hasil analisa data menggunakan uji statistik chi-square yang menggunakan aplikasi SPSS di dapat kan nilai p-value 0,002 yang berarti p- value 0,05 hal ini menunjukan bahwa Ho di tolak Ha di terima sehingga dapat di simpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara gaya hidup dengan resiko terjadinya Stroke iskemik pada lansia di RSU Mitra Medika Tanjung Mulia. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan antara gaya hidup dan risiko terjadinya stroke iskemik pada lansia, yang menekankan pentingnya intervensi gaya hidup sehat untuk pencegahan stroke iskemik padan lansia

Abstract

The body's immunity is a system that works against foreign substances entering the body. The body's immunity must be well maintained so that it is not easily attacked by disease. Nurses can help people to increase their immune system by using complementary modalities. One of the complementary modalities that can be taught and is easy to do is the acupressure technique. Acupressure is a health method of applying pressure/massage to the surface of the skin which is expected to increase blood circulation, reduce tension and stress. The aim of implementing this community service is to provide education on the application of acupressure techniques to increase body immunity for students at SMK PAB-3 Medan Estate. The method used in carrying out this community service is by providing education through lectures and providing leaflets containing educational material at SMK PAB-3 Medan Estate. The targets for implementing the activities are students at SMK PAB-3 Medan Estate. The results of this community service have had a positive impact on the parties involved, especially for students at SMK PAB-3 Medan Estate. Students can increase their knowledge about the immune system in the body and how to increase the body's immunity with acupressure techniques as one of the complementary treatments. Apart from that, students can also improve their skills in increasing body immunity with acupressure techniques at points Li-4, PC6, and SP-6.
