Abstract

SMKN 8 Padang merupakan sekolah kejuruan yang salah satu teknik kejuruannya fokus dalam Teknik Jaringan Komputer dan Telekomunikasi (TJKJ) menghasilkan lulusan-lulusan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman siswa SMKN 8 Padang tentang IoT dan implementasinya yang masih minim, khususnya dalam membangun sistem smart parking berbasis IoT. Kondisi ini terjadi akibat pembelajaran tentang IoT masih kurang maksimal karena tidak diberikan dalam sebuah mata pelajaran khusus dan belum terdapatnya modul pembelajaran mengenai IoT untuk di implementasikan secara langsung. Berdasarkan hal ini Tim Pelaksana PkM berinisiatif melaksanakan pelatihan mengenai smart parking berbasis IoT menggunakan software Arduino UNO dengan prototype. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan simulasi media pembelajaran IoT untuk sistem smart parking bagi siswa sekolah mitra. Hasil dari Kegiatan PkM yang telah dilakukan berupa penyampaian materi, pengenalan dan perakitan software dan prototype sesuai dengan modul, mengeksekusi listing program arduino ke prototype yang telah dirakit dan penyerahan produk kepada pihak sekolah. Secara keseluruhan, jika dilihat dari kategori ketercapaian tujuan kegiatan, ketercapaian target materi, dan kemampuan peserta dalam penguasaan materi, maka kegiatan PkM ini dapat dinilai baik. Hal ini terwujud berkat dukungan dari berbagai pihak, terutama para peserta pelatihan, guru-guru dan kepala sekolah SMKN 8 Padang.

Abstract

Electrical equipment often faces various issues, with insulation problems being a major cause of failure. This article investigates the comparative effectiveness of two Partial Discharge (PD) detection methods: using Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) sensors and Resistor-Capacitor (RC) detectors. The study was conducted on a metal box with a voltage level of 6 kV. Data collected included Background Noise (BGN) and Partial Discharge Inception Voltage (PDIV), processed using Microsoft Excel and OriginPro 9. Results indicate a correlation between higher BGN values on TEV sensors and earlier PDIV occurrence on those sensors. Background noise significantly impacts the PDIV threshold, influencing sensitivity and insulation risk potential. While PDIV provides a threshold guideline, correlation with BGN helps illustrate the background conditions' influence on PD measurement outcomes. The study offers insights into the importance of considering noise in PD measurements and formulates recommendations for practitioners to choose appropriate detection methods based on specific environmental conditions and electrical equipment.

Abstract

The cooperative communication system functions to eliminate the effect of fading on the wireless channel. In a cooperative communication system, there are a number of relay nodes assigned to help the source transmit information to the destination. Hybrid Relay Protocol (HRP) is a combination of cooperative communication system protocols, namely AF and DF where the relay will choose one of the protocols using hybrid relay selection (HRS). Selection of the type of relay protocol used is based on the largest SNR. In this study, a performance simulation of the HRS cooperative communication system was carried out using the AF and DF relay protocol using the Maximum Ratio Combining (MRCC) technique. The parameter taken as a performance reference is the bit error rate (BER). Based on the simulation results when the SNR is 7 dB, the BER value for the DF protocol is 0, while for the AF protocol the BER value when the SNR is the same is 0.0355. Whereas the BER for the MRC technique at the destantion node has obtained a value of 0 when the SNR is 8 dB for the SC technique the BER value when with the same SNR is 0.0119.

Abstract

Nagari Padang Ganting is a unique village in West Sumatera, Indonesia, with a wide variety of tourist attractions, including man-made/health attractions such as hot springs, cultural attractions such as the tombs of Tuan Kadhi and Sheikh Ibrahim, and natural attractions such as Nabi's footsteps stone and the seven-tiered waterfall. However, at present, tourists only focus on visiting the hot spring tourist attraction, due to the lack of clear information about other tourist attractions in Nagari Padang Ganting. Currently, there is a website and a profile video of Nagari Padang Ganting, but it is necessary to create a profile video about the other attractions in Nagari Padang Ganting to provide more information for tourists who will visit. This activity aims to provide a solution to the existing problems, namely by creating a profile video of the Nagari Padang Ganting tourist attractions, thereby increasing the promotion of Nagari Padang Ganting tourism. This will certainly attract local and foreign tourists to visit Nagari Padang Ganting, thus helping the community's economy because it receives a multiplier effect from the tourism activities that exist in Nagari Padang Ganting. So it is directly beneficial to Nagari Padang Ganting, the Tourism Awareness Group (POKDARWIS) and the people of Nagari Padang Ganting, especially in the effort to improve community welfare through the promotion of tourist attractions in Nagari Padang Ganting. The profile video of the tourist attractions in Nagari Padang Ganting has been uploaded on the YouTube channel of the Nagari Padang Ganting Government and the Facebook social media of the Nagari Padang Ganting Government.

Abstract

Smart agricultural technology by applying the internet of things (IoT) purposes to make farmers' work more efficient due to the automation system and assist farmers in monitoring the condition of their agricultural land. The focus of discussion in this research is the application of smart agriculture system technology that uses the concept of embedded systems for soil and hydroponic planting media. This system applies an automation system for water irrigation and fertilizer irrigation using four tanks, namely a water source, a water irrigation tank, a fertilizer tank, and a water circulation system in hydroponics. The system is also equipped with weather monitoring based on temperature, rainfall, and light intensity. Other parameters contained in this system are soil pH, water pH, TDS, fertilizer availability, and irrigation pump status. The monitoring system based on the Android application displays all parameters and the status of the devices used.

Abstract

Website desa Nagari Padang Ganting berisikan kumpulan informasi yang dapat di akses oleh publik melalui jaringan Internet melalui URL http://padangganting.desa.id/. Saat ini Website tersebut hanya menampilkan informasi lama, belum ada keterbaruan informasi yang bisa diakses. Belum ada informasi tambahan mengenai video dan deskripsi mengenai objek wisata Nagari Padang Ganting. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk optimalisasi pengelolaan Website Nagari dalam rangka peningkatan promosi wisata Nagari Padang Ganting. Hal ini tentu dapat meningkatkan promosi objek wisata Nagari Padang Ganting, sehingga dapat membatu perekonomian masyarakat karena mendapatkan multiplier effect dari kegiatan pariwisata yang ada di Nagari Padang Ganting. Sehingga bermanfaat secara langsung kepada Nagari Padang Ganting, Kelompok Sadar Wisata dan masyarakat Nagari Padang Ganting khususnya upaya meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama enam bulan dengan metode kegiatan yaitu persiapan, pelatihan, optimalisasi wesbite, dan terakhir adalah finalisasi. Target dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat pada Nagari Padang Ganting adalah pelatihan Website dalam upaya optimalisasi Website Nagari Padang Ganting.

Abstract

SMK Semen Padang adalah sekolah di bawah yayasan PT. Semen Padang dan merupakan sekolah kejuruan yang menghasilkan anak didik yang sesuai dengan standar industri. Kurikulum SMK Semen Padang sudah menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan industri. Siswa-siswi SMK Semen Padang sudah ditahap mengetahui pengaplikasian IoT (Internet of Thing). Namun tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman tentang pembuatan aplikasi android untuk smart system belum pernah dicoba dan belum ada diberikan dalam kurikulum di sekolah. Hal ini menjadi permasalahan bagi mitra karena SMK Semen Padang mempunyai keinginan untuk dapat terlibat dalam kegiatan tahun nasional tingkat SMK, yaitu Lomba Krestifitas Mahasiswa. Penjelasan ini merupakan permasalahan utama yang ingin diselesaikan oleh pihak sekolah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan dampak pada pengembangan mata pelajaran bidang TIK khususnya pada materi aplikasi teknologi android dan mendukung siswa untuk memiliki kreatifitas dan inovasi-inovasi sehingga nantinya dapat mengambil peran ikut dalam ajang nasional. Metode yang dipakai pada kegiatan ini yaitu diskusi, ceramah, bimbingan dan pelatihan. Tahap pertama tim PkM memberikan diskusi dan ceramah mengenai aplikasi android pada smart system, selanjutnya tim melakukan bimbingan dan pelatihan pembuatan aplikasi android yaitu Wokwi, ThingSpeak, dan MIT App Inventor. Kegiatan PkM yang sudah dilakukan adalah ceramah materi, bimbingan teknis, pelatihan aplikasi Andorid, implementasi sistem pada smartphone serta penyerahan produk pada pihak mitra. Berdasarkan hasil kuisioner kegiatan PkM pada SMK Semen Padang berjalan dan sesuai dengan target yang di inginkan.

Abstract

Fading is a phenomenon of decreasing signal strength during transmission, caused by changes in environmental conditions or physical obstacles in the propagation path. Fading can cause interference in signal reception, such as distortion or loss of information, especially in Non-Line of Sight (NLoS) paths, where signals must pass through many paths or obstacles such as buildings, trees, or other objects. To eliminate fading interference, a cooperative communication system is created to reduce the effects of fading in wireless networks. The cooperative communication system works by utilizing other nodes in sending signals to the destination. The relay protocol used in this study is amplify and forward, where the signal to be sent will be amplified and forwarded to the destination by the relay node. A network coding scheme is added to the cooperative communication system to improve network performance. This scheme encodes each piece of information with the XOR technique. The parameters used in measuring the network coding scheme in the cooperative communication system are BER and throughput. Viewed from the BER value, the conventional cooperative communication system has better performance compared to the cooperative communication system with network coding. Cooperative communication system scheme without NC BER value is 0 when the transmit power value is -19 dBm or Gain 32. While for the cooperative communication system scheme with network coding BER value is 0 when transmit power of -9.25 dBm. Throughput system with network coding has increased by 17% compared to the conventional system.

Abstract

This study explores the development and evaluation of a neural network model for predicting diabetes based on clinical data. The model was built using the Keras API with TensorFlow backend. Key steps included data preprocessing, such as feature scaling with `StandardScaler` and splitting the data into training and testing sets. The neural network architecture consisted of an input layer, two hidden layers with ReLU activation functions, and an output layer with a sigmoid activation function, optimized using the Adam optimizer and binary crossentropy loss function. The model was trained over 50 epochs with a batch size of 10, incorporating a validation split of 20% to monitor performance on unseen data during training. The results demonstrated a high accuracy of approximately 97% on the test set, indicating the model's efficacy in predicting diabetes. Further analysis using a confusion matrix revealed a high count of true positives and true negatives, alongside minimal false positives and false negatives, confirming the model's robustness. These findings suggest that neural networks can be effectively employed for diabetes prediction, offering significant potential for integration into clinical decision support systems. However, further validation with larger and more diverse datasets, alongside considerations for data imbalance and model interpretability, is recommended to ensure generalizability and practical application in real-world healthcare settings.
