Abstract

The study of the adsorption of Fe(III) ion in Fe supplement by black tea dregs has been done. This study aims to investigate: (a) the Adsorption ability of Fe(III) ion in Fe supplement by black tea dregs (b) the Analysis result of Fe(III) amounts in a sample of Fe supplement when using black tea dregs. Several parameters were analyzed, such as; water and ash contents of the adsorbent, the optimum time, and the concentration of ion Fe(III) with tea dregs in a buffer medium (pH 4,8). The analysis of sample solution concentration of Fe(III) in this study using Genesys spectrophotometry at 590 nm. The result showed that the water and ash contents were 3.03 % and 0.9 %, respectively. Small percentages indicate that the adsorbent has met the standard (SNI) 06–3730-1995. The time and concentration optimum adsorption of Fe(III)-tea dregs were 60 minutes and 100 mg/L, respectively. The result of the adsorption ability of Fe(III) ion in Fe supplement by tea dregs was 70.4% with the adsorption concentration of ion Fe(III) were 7.07 mg/L. The research results obtained can be used as teaching materials for inorganic chemistry learning, and as a reference for new materials in the field of coordination chemistry and materials.

Abstract

Limestone is one of the rocks that is very abundant in Indonesia and has many benefits, especially in the field of industry. This study aims to determine the levels of calcium oxide (CaO) in limestone at Desa Leok, Kecamatan Biau, Kabupaten Buol. XRF (X-ray fluorescence) was the analytical technique utilized to ascertain the amount of calcium oxide (CaO) present in the limestone.  Both the coast area and the hill area provided samples. The measurement results indicate that the level of CaO is 92.41 % in the coast area and 93.74 % in the hill area.

Abstract

The use of synthetic dyes such as remazol by textile companies can harm the environment because they are toxic, long-lasting, and hard to break down. This study aims to find out how well biochar made from randu kapuk seeds can absorb colors in water by determining the best weight, contact time, and pH level. The study's findings indicate that the moisture content of biochar made from randu kapuk seeds at temperatures of 400C, 450C, and 500C is 5.7%, 5.1%, and 4.3%, respectively. The ash concentration at temperatures of 400, 450, and 500 was 7.7%, 6.8%, and 6.3%, respectively. The best amount of biochar tested was 100 mg, which could absorb 25 mg of remazol Blue, giving it an adsorption capacity of 1.65 mg/g. The best time for biochar made from kapuk seeds to absorb remazol Blue was 30 minutes, with an absorption ability of 1.59 mg/g. The optimal pH for the adsorption of remazol Blue was 4, with a capacity of 5.39 mg/g. The results showed that biochar made from kapuk seeds was excellent at soaking up substances and followed certain patterns that suggest it works through a single layer of chemical bonding. This study highlights how effective biochar made from kapuk seeds is as a safe and eco-friendly material for cleaning dye-polluted water, which helps promote sustainable water management in line with SDG 6: clean water and sanitation

Abstract

This descriptive research uses an ethnographic approach to identify ethnomascience on parts of Sigi Biromaru's traditional weapons that can be used as media and innovation in learning mathematics and science/IPA. The results of literature reviews show that concepts in the fields of mathematics, and science/IPA are found in parts of the traditional weapon described in the descriptions of the table. The results of the research show that the Kaliavo, Guma, and Doke shapes include triangular, square-long, quadrilateral, horizontal, hexadecimal, symmetrical, structural, quadrillary, and straight lines. On the other hand, physical concepts such as momentum, implosive, style, pressure, cultivation, tree morphology biology, tree anatomy, forest ecology, roles and cycles of carbon, forestry, plants, ecosystems, and human interaction with its natural environment, human development, ecological, technological, and cultural. Then ideas about chemistry, such as solid substances, and chemical elements of iron and steel.

Abstract

The development of the implementation of the independent curriculum today requires learning with a new paradigm to be realized through differentiated learning strategies so that each student learns according to their needs, culture, and stage of development. MGMP Chemistry in Palu City realizes the importance of making various efforts so that the chemistry learning process runs both in terms of delivering learning materials and implementing practicum in the laboratory is a tangible manifestation of differentiated learning. The current problems are (1) teachers are still confused about interpreting differentiated learning strategies as part of a new paradigm of learning through student-centered learning practices, (2) teachers have not been able to apply the unity of the learning cycle starting from competency mapping, process planning, and implementation of learning assessments, (3) the ability of teachers to formulate learning designs and assessments according to the characteristics of participants' needs Education is still lacking, and (4) teachers still experience obstacles in the realization of the Pancasila Student Profile through learning. The training participants were 30 people who were teachers of chemistry subjects who were members of the Chemistry MGMP group of SMA Kota Palu. This Community Service activity aims to provide an understanding of the principles and application of differentiated learning which includes differentiation of content, processes, and products in chemistry subject matter at the high school level or the same level as the MERRDEKA flow. Activities that have been carried out in the form of workshops, training, and mentoring are carried out with a participatory model. The resulting output targets are scientific publications, differentiated learning guidebooks, and IPR.

Abstract

Mature coconut and rice washing water contain nitrogen and potassium, which are helpful for plants. This study aims to determine the levels of nitrogen and potassium in liquid organic fertilizer from a mixture of mature coconut water and rice washing water. Nitrogen content was analyzed using the Kjeldahl method. Potassium levels were analyzed using a flame photometer. The results indicated that the best nitrogen and potassium levels were obtained in liquid organic fertilizer with a mixture ratio 50:50, namely N 1.26% and K 1.27%. The highest nitrogen content was obtained in liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) with a mixture ratio of 25:75, 1.40%, and the highest potassium content was obtained in liquid organic fertilizer with a mixture ratio of 50:50, 1.27%. When mixed, the increase in nitrogen and potassium levels was caused by the bacteria in the liquid organic fertilizer, which breaks down protein during digestion.

Abstract

Tin Fruits (Ficus carica Linn) are typical Middle Eastern plants that have been cultivated in Indonesia. Tin fruits are rich in minerals, especially calcium and potassium. In addition, they also contain benzaldehyde which is beneficial against cancer cells. This study aimed to determine the concentrations of calcium and potassium contained in tin fruits. Determination of calcium and potassium contents using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS). The results showed an analysis of the water content of the sample obtained was 89.065 %, ash content was 1.0165 % and biomass content was 9.9185 %. While the analysis of calcium contents at a wavelength of 422.7 nm and potassium at a wavelength of 766.5 nm respectively obtained that an average yield of calcium was 354.97 mg/100g and 752.68 mg/100g for potassium. The results of this study are expected to be able to attract the interest of the community to cultivate tin fruits, especially in Central Sulawesi.
