Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of submerged cage depth on the growth of green lobsters (Panulirus homarus) in Vietnamese-style cultivation on the East Coast of Pangandaran. The submerged cage was intended so that the lobsters are not disturbed by the situation/water quality in the upper layer of the water. The research method used a completely randomized design using 3 submerge cage depth treatments and 4 repetitions with different ones, A (2 meters); B (3.5 meters); and C (5 meters). Lobster maintenance was carried out for 40 days using a submerged cage with a diameter of 80 cm and a height of 90 cm. Each cage contains 10 lobster seeds measuring 40 g. Frequency of feeding 2 times a day. The amount of test feed given was 20% of the lobster weight each day. Measurement of water quality as supporting data was carried out at the beginning and end of the research. Sampling was done every 10 days and the observed parameters were growth rate, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and feed efficiency (FE). Lobster growth performance showed that treatment C (placement of cages at a depth of 5 meters) was the best among the others, as well as the daily growth rate (LPH) of 1.35%, feed conversion ratio (FCR) of 12.8, and feed efficiency ( EP) of 8.6%. The water quality in the submerged cage with a depth of 5 meters was DO 5.22 mg/L, the water temperature was 28 Celsius, pH was 7 and salinity was 34 ppt.

Abstract

Pangandaran has potential for developing multisectoral fisheries and marine science, such as marine tourism, aquaculture, marine culture, fishing, and fishery processing. The increase of fishery potential is followed by the development of the fishery product technology which is spread ini every sub district both on a large scale or houshold scale in the form of micro, small, and medium enterprises. The development of fishery based products has the potential to be implemented in Pangandaran. The development of fishery processing activities also indicates an increase in the potential for solid or liquid waste production. In order for fishery processing activities in Pangandaran always sustainable with zero waste principle, structured information is needed. There are three Poklahsar in Parigi District that produce salted fish, nuget, and jambal salted fish. The average total volume of waste is less than 20 kg/ month.

Abstract

Ikan dan hasil perikanan lainnya merupakan salah satu bahan pangan yang mudah rusak sehingga mutu ikan harus dijaga dan dipertahankan dari saat ditangkap hingga ke konsumen. Kesegaran ikan secara umum tidak bisa ditingkatkan namun dapat dipertahankan dengan menggunakan penerapan prinsip yang benar dan tepat. Oleh karena itu, kesegaran ikan akan terus menurun seiring berjalannya waktu apabila tidak menerima cara penanganan yang tepat. Permasalahan yang terjadi di masyarakat yaitu kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai penanganan hasil perikanan, pengetahuan mengenai mutu ikan segar, dan kurangnya kepedulian akan pentingnya menjaga mutu ikan. Sasaran dalam kegiatan ini adalah kader ibu-ibu PKK yang memiliki peran penting dalam kegiatan sosialisasi ke masyarakat umum. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan pemberian materi dan praktek kepada peserta agar peserta memiliki pengetahuan tentang karakteristik ikan segar dan ikan mundur mutu serta dapat memilih dan menentukan perbedaan kesegaran ikan. Peserta kegiatan sangat berminat dalam mengikuti penyuluhan karakteristik mutu ikan segar dan ikan mundur mutu. Peserta aktif dalam proses diskusi materi mengenai karakteristik ikan segar dan ikan mundur mutu serta penanganan hasil perikanan. Selain itu peserta juga aktif pada tahap praktek dan simulasi dalam menentukan dan memilih ikan dengan mutu yang berbeda.

Abstract

Kabupaten Pangandaran memiliki aktivitas yang tinggi di bidang perikanan, yang mencakup perikanan laut maupun perikanan air tawar. Perikanan menjadi ladang usaha utama bagi masyarakat Pangandaran. Letak wilayah yang berbatasan langsung dengan pesisir pantai menjadikan olahan perikanan menjadi produk utama sebagai ciri khas oleh-oleh Pangandaran, terutama ikan asin jambal roti. Banyak UMKM yang berbahan baku hasil perikanan. Hal ini meningkatkan limbah yang dihasilkan sehingga perlu pemetaan dasar sebaran kegiatan pengolahan beserta limbah yang dihasilkannya. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode survey dan diseminasi hasil pemetaan. Data yang telah dihimpun dari 3 Poklahsar yang ada di kecamatan Parigi dijadikan basis pembuatan peta sumber dan potensi limbah hasil perikanan Kabupaten Pangandaran. Pemetaan sumber potensi limbah ini memuat informasi letak Poklahsar, jenis olahannya, jenis limbah padat yang diproduksi dan juga volume produksinya setiap bulan. Kegiatan pengolahan perikanan di Kecamatan Parigi terdiri dari 1 Poklahsar dan 2 IKM. Produk perikanan yang dihasilkannya berupa ikan asin jambal roti, ikan asin gabus, ikan asin teri, dan sambal teri. Limbah padat yang dihasilkan berupa jeroan dan kepala ikan. Rata-rata volume produksi limbah yang dihasilkan dari keseluruhan pokhlasar sebesar 20 kg/bulan. Limbah yang dihasilkan masih tergolong rendah.

Abstract

Tilapia is favored for its rapid growth and adaptability to diverse aquatic environments, making it a widely cultivated fish. In fish farming activities, feed provides the largest contribution to the total production cost. So that farmers must use alternative feed to reduce feed costs. One alternative feed for tilapia that is easy to obtain, affordable and sustainably available is lamtoro leaves. The aim of this research was to determine the effect of adding lamtoro leaf flour to feed at different concentrations on the growth of tilapia (O. niloticus). The average weight of tilapia at the beginning of the study was 5,7 grams. This research was conducted for 40 days starting in May until June 2023, taking place in Kertayasa Village, Cijulang District, Pangandaran Regency. The method used in this research was an experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely treatment A: 100% commercial feed (control), treatment B: commercial feed + 5% lamtoro leaf flour, treatment C: commercial feed + 10% lamtoro leaf meal, and treatment D: commercial feed + 15% lamtoro leaf meal. Parameters observed included daily growth rate (SGR), absolute length growth, and water quality. The results indicated a significant effect (P<0.05) on the daily growth rate (SGR) by incorporating lamtoro leaf flour into the feed. The highest treatment, observed in treatment C at 50%/day, resulted in the maximum absolute length growth of 4.63 cm. The water quality parameters during the study were in the proper range for the life of tilapia (O. niloticus).  Providing lamtoro leaf flour in feed does not have a negative effect on growth and water quality. Keywords: Tilapia fish, lamtoro leaf meal, growth.
