Abstract

Wind turbine is one of the tools yamg work to take advantage of wind allergy. Wind turbines based on the type of rotor there are two types of Darrieus wind turbines and Savonius wind turbines. In the manufacturing process using a type of wind turbine type Darrieus. The darrieus turbine is a wind turbine that utilizes the lift style on the rotor blade. This turbine requires initial energy to spin. The formulation of the problem in making this wind turbine is How does the manufacturing process of vertical turbine type darrieus wind turbine and How much is the cost budget on the manufacturing process of the darrieus type verical wind turbine. The components of the wind turbine are the foot frame, bearing bearings, bearings, shafts, disks, blade arms, blades, transmission pulleys and belts-v, while the tools and machinery used in the manufacturing process are electric welding tools, electric grinding wheels, , hand drilling machine, sitting drilling machine, cut lever, riverter pliers, acetylene welding and lathe. Keywords: Wind Turbine, Turbine Components, Tools and MachinesApple, JM. Abstract

Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane (RTGC) is a transport lifting equipment which serves to move the containers from head truck to the container terminal or vice versa and as a regulator of the composition of the container stacks. Twist lock is the most important components that are on Rubber Tired Gantry Crane (RTGC). This component is located on the four corners of the spreader. Twist lock function to lock the container at the time of appointment. And load the container will be distributed evenly. This study and simulation to calculate the voltage that occurs at the twist lock with variations in loading and adjusts the nature of the material used. The magnitude of the voltage is done with theoretical calculations and simulated using Autodesk Inventor 2014 software. Based on the research results, the loading of 20 tons, 30 tons and 40 tons with theoretical calculations obtained voltage value is 94705,33 kPa, 142057,98 kPa dan 189410,66 kPa. The simulation results obtained von mises stress value 91900 kPa, 137800 kPa dan 183800 kPa.

Abstract

Tire is important component of a Dump Truck. For transporting material from the loading point and fleet to disposal Dump Truck performance is required. Trouble On the tire will interfere the unit performance. Month period data from January to March show the amount of failure to the unit HD785-7 dump truck tire which can indirectly interfere the performance of the unit. Therefore, analysis of two key performance indicator (KPI) that tread utility ratio (TUR) and lifetime must be done to find the factors that cause failure, as well as find out whether there is a relationship between lifetime and TUR against different types of failure that occurred by using logistic regression. From the analysis, it is known that the tire KPI has yet to reach a given target, the main factor of tire performance has yet to reach the target is human error, operator Dump Truck and Excavator by 44%, from the results of logistic regression analysis of the data for 3 months it is known that the relationship LifeTime and TUR against various types of failure is not significant because Chisq value is greater than the value of 0.05 pr. (5%).

Abstract

Main purpose of this final task is to design a wood cutter machine for channel saw on the wood board and to get the final result like a work sheet and to determine the machine component of the wood cutter until it’s proper to built. This design of the modification wood cutter machine has some concept with some steps like: need, problem analysis and product specification, product concept design, analysis technique, modeling and the work sheet. the next process is build the wood cutter machine that has been planned. The final task result is a design that poured in the work sheet include the framework machine drawing, liner drawing, arm connector drawing, arm knife drawing, pen drawing, pivot transmission drawing, pivot eccentric drawing, circle eccentric drawing, puli and workspace drawing. The wood cutter capacity saw could reach 2 cm thickness. The machine booster resources is an electricity engine with 0.25 HP power. The wood cutter from modification product dimension length x wide x height that 350 x 350 x 910 mm. the machine framework material use an iron steel profile L 30 x 30 x 2 mm material St 42. The transmission pivot made from St 37 with dimension O 15 mm and 300 mm length. The transmission system use belt component V and two pair of Puli 1,5’’ and 3.5’’, work base board use Plywood. The final result of this design and the wood cutter making then will be built adjust the work sheet.

Abstract

Wind energi is one of the alternative energi that can be utilized for various purposes to replace the source of fossil fuel energi. The Darrieus wind turbine includes a vertikal axis wind turbine driven by lifting force from the blade. Planning of the axis vertikal type Darrieus wind turbine is aimed to calculate the elements of Darrieus machine and make design of vertikal axis component of Darrieus vertikal turbine using Marzuki (2016) research data about NACA 2415 blend analysis with variation of blade and angle of attack. The planning method used is based on the calculation of construction and vertikal axis of vertikal axis type of wind machine by using field result data in the form of wind speed, altitude and environmental condition which produce calculation result and working drawing of each machine element. The results of planning engine eleman on vertikal axis wind turbine Darrieus with 3 pieces airfoil shaped type NACA 2415 chord 30 cm has a diameter and height of 1 meter. Using ST-42 shaft 17-25 mm in diameter with length 1640 mm retained 2 bearing pieces with numbers 30203 and 6204. Transmission using belt and pulley type with 1: 14 increase ratio. Frame using Lx steel profile size 30x30 with total length ± 15 m. The use of materials such as composites is preferable to reduce turbine load without affecting the strength and durability of the turbine.

Abstract

Recycling is a way of processing used materials that is started with selection, collection, then the process of foundry to create a new product that is more valuable economical. The objective of this research is to know the effect of casting temperature with the kind of guide material AI alloy junk from brake shoe and pan on porosity, hardness, microstructure (the evaporative foundry result). The recycling of used aluminum is an alternative to reduce the waste material from aluminum. Casting temperature is an variable that can effect the result of foundry where if the casting temperature is low, then there will be a quick freeze before the mold is completely filled. And if the casting temperature is too high, then shrinkage can occur and the porosity value may increase. This research used four casting temperature variations, namely: 650°C, 700°C, 750°C, and 800°C. The evaporative foundry method uses styrofoam pattern that is piled up into sand mold. The metal that is casted will form like styrofoam pattern. The result of casting temperature testing can effect on porosity, hardness, and microstructure.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the water supply / discharge system of water pretreatment station equipment which is then processed for the purpose of operating a steam power plant. In the distribution process, the reliability of the equipment and the resulting discharge will be observed whether it is in accordance with the provisions for the ideal operation or not. The expected discharge is 518 m3 / h according to the water balance so that the plant can operate full load (2x66 MW). With this condition, the company is expected to benefit. In the actual conditions this ideal discharge condition is not achieved so that the impact of the plant cannot operate full load (2x66 MW). With water conditions that do not match these expectations, it is feared that the company will continue to suffer losses. In fact, this study only obtained a maximum discharge of 402.2 m3 / h. From this figure there is a difference in water debit of 115.8 m3 / h. Furthermore, this debit shortage must be overcome so that the generator can meet the maximum full load performance. For long-term steps, standby backup equipment must be provided in anticipation of the operation.

Abstract

Pure aluminum has good castability but mechanical properties not good. Therefore, to improve its mechanical properties, other alloying elements such as magnesium, copper, manganese, silica and some are added. The research was conducted to determine the effect of pouring temperature and pressure on the hardness value of the metal casting material. The casting material uses an aluminum-copper alloy (Al-6.7%Cu). The casting method uses squeeze casting, where the molten metal is allowed to cool in a closed metal mold and is pressurized. The pouring temperature was varied 710°C, 730°C and 750°C. Mixing time for molten metal is 90 seconds with a stirring rotation of 600 Rpm. The metal pressure in the mold was varied from 0 MPa, 2.5 MPa, 5 MPa and 7.5 MPa, with a pressing time of 60 seconds. The temperature of the metal mold used is 250°C. Based on the results of the Brinell scale hardness test (HBN) that the highest hardness value is at a pouring temperature of 710°C with a pressure of 7.5 MPa, the hardness value is 68 HB and the lowest hardness value is at a pouring temperature of 750°C with a pressure of 0 MPa, the hardness value is 34. HB. The results showed that the higher the pouring temperature, the lower the hardness value and the greater the pressure, the higher the hardness value

Abstract

Dalam pekerjaan, kegiatan pencatatan pekerjaan sangatlah penting karena sebagai bukti dari hasil pekerjaan yang telah dilakukan, kegiatan pencatatan pekerjaan manual yang masih menggunakan kertas sebagai media pencatatan memiliki beberapa kendala dalam pengerjaannya karena memerlukan banyak kertas sehingga mengakibatkan biaya cukup tinggi, penulisan huruf yang tidak baik mengakibatkan tulisan sulit terbaca, pekerjaan dilapangan membuat kertas sebagai media pencatatan mudah basah jika terkena air, serta tidak efisien karena admin perlu melakukan input data kembali setelah dilakukan pencatatan oleh operator. Untuk menikatkan kinerja agar lebih efisien dalam pencatatan, penggunaan kertas, serta baiknya penulisan maka diperlukan sebuah sistem informasi untuk dapat melakukan semua itu. Sistem informasi pencatatan berbasis android menjadi pilihan karena penggunaan smarphone yang mudah difahami dan sudah banyak dimiliki oleh setiap orang, penyimpanan data yang aman karena ada didalam data base, menghemat biaya penggunaan kertas yang tinggi, tidak mudah basah jika terkena air, serta mengganti penulisan yang ditulis tangan dengan pengetikan keyboard smartphone sehingga hasilnya pasti jelas. Abstract

Kebutuhan energi dari tahun ke tahun terus meningkat. Sebagian besar kebutuhan energi  penduduk pedesaaan adalah untuk sektor rumah tangga. Tanah gambut yang mempunyai nilai kalori yang dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu energi alternatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi di Desa kayu bawang Kecamatan Gambut. Melihat kondisi ini maka potensi sumber daya alam terutama tanah gambut harus benar-benar dimanfaatkan dengan  baik,  karena dengan potensi alam tersebut akan menunjang berjalannya perekonomian dengan baik. Salah satu teknologi tepat guna yang mampu memanfaatkan tanah gambut sebagai bahan bakar yaitu dengan cara menjadikan tanah gambut sebagai briket dan  membuat kompor yang bisa digunakan sebagai bahan bakar briket tanah gambut. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan solusi kepada  warga Desa Kayu Bawang dalam menangulangi energi. Salah satu teknologi tepat guna yang mampu memanfaatkan tanah gambut sebagai bahan bakar yaitu dengan cara menjadikan tanah gambut sebagai briket dan  membuat kompor yang bisa digunakan sebagai bahan bakar briket tanah gambut Metode yang gunakan adalah studi lapangan, diskusi, pembuatan briket tanah gambut dan kompor briket yang di demontrasikan degan mitra sesuai dengan target dan harapan. Target yang dicapai dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah produk cetakan briket tanah gambut dan Kompor  briket tanah gambut. Dari kegiatan ini dihasilkan produk kompor briket tanah gambut dan cetakan briket tanah gambut yang bisa digunanakan sebagai energi alternatife secara maksimal oleh warga Desa Kayu Bawang ini. Warga sangat antusias terhadap kegiatan ini, hal ini disebabkan dengan pengguaan kompor briket tanah gambut ini dapat mengurangi biaya hidup khususnya dalam pengeluaran bahan bakar.
