Abstract

Good nutrition in childhood is important, not only for health, growth and development of children but also for long-term health. Children need to eat a variety of nutrient-rich foods regularly, including fruits and vegetables. Lack of consumption of fruit and vegetables can increase the likelihood of constipation. A strategy is needed to support the development of children in the selection of variations of fruits and vegetables consumed, which can be done through nutrition counseling efforts in children especially children in kindergarten (kindergarten). In addition, modification of food based on fruits and vegetables is needed to improve children's appetite, so as to increase fiber intake in children in an effort to prevent constipation.Keywords: Children; Fruit; Constipation; Dietary habit; Vegetables.

Abstract

Physical exercise is the main factor in improving the performance of athletes. Physical exercise may cause fatigue and increase the risk of injury. Most athletes have experienced injuries during training or competing, such as muscle pain, sprains, muscle tension, bruises, and minor injuries. The majority of athletes lack knowledge regarding the management of injuries through appropriate nutritional interventions. The importance of proper nutrition therapy education as one of the solutions to reduce the risk of sports injury. The purpose of this study was to observe the change in knowledge about proper nutritional therapy in dealing with injuries in young soccer athletes at PSS Sleman Development Center. The study was conducted in July 2022. The provision of education was given at the Macanan Field, Prambanan, Yogyakarta. The respondents were 22 U-16 athletes at PSS Sleman Development Center. Athletes were given a knowledge questionnaire before and after the provision of education. Data were analyzed using statistical software with descriptive analysis and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The increase in athletes' knowledge was measured from the knowledge score before giving education, which was 86,36 and after being given education increased to 89,09 with an average difference of 2,73 (p=0,366). The maximum score after providing education is 100 with a minimum score of 60. Providing education to athletes can increase athlete's knowledge and understanding of the importance of proper nutritional intake in reducing the risk of sports injury.

Abstract

Formula development and sensory evaluation of seasoning agents using oyster mushroom has been carried out in the previous studies. Sensory quality is a food quality parameter that affectednutritional fulfillment and satisfaction. The use of seasoning agents was needed to be evaluated on foodservice system as a sensory evaluation in large quantities of processing. The objectives of this study wereto determine differences in food satisfaction and nutritional fulfillment on food service using seasoningagent of oyster mushroom. This was quasi-experimental study, conducted in July 2019 at Sekolah AlamNurul Islam, Yogyakarta. Respondents were the teachers. Data on nutritional needs were calculated usingweight and height, whereas food intake was obtained using food recall. Data of food recalls wereanalyzed using Nutrisurvey to obtain energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrate intake. Furthermore,nutritional fulfillment was obtained by comparing the food intake with the nutritional needs. Foodsatisfaction was obtained by interview using a food satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed usingWilcoxon Test and Chi Square Test. The results showed that there were no differences in nutritionalfulfillment and satisfaction on the first and second days (p>0.05), except for the fulfillment of fat (p<0.05).The differences were found on the third day (p<0.05). Seasoning agents using oyster mushrooms haven’tfully increased food satisfaction and nutritional fulfillment in the food service. The effect still depends onthe type of dish that is processed. Seasoning agent using oyster mushroom still requires formuladevelopment so that it can be applied to dishes processing in food service.Keywords: food intake, seasoning agent, oyster mushroom, food satisfaction, food service

Abstract

Many young athletes have undernourished nutritional status, lack of knowledge, and improperselection of nutritional intake. It has an impact on the success of athletes when conducting games.One of the contributing factors is the suboptimal use of educational media for athletes.Educational media, Cakram is one of the alternative media that needs to be developed and appliedto young athletes. Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) is an educational mediainnovation that makes it easier for athletes. This study aims to analyze the level of mediaacceptance of Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) conducted on experts in thefield of Sports Nutrition as a solution to athletes' health independence, especially optimizing thenutritional status of adolescent athletes. This research was a quantitative descriptive study. Thisresearch began with the manufacture and development of cakram by looking at the level ofacceptance of Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) media by experts in the field ofSports Nutrition. Data were analyzed descriptively. Nutrition education media in the form ofCakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet (CAMCA) is very interesting media to be developed andapplied to young athletes related to the fulfillment of nutritional intake.Keywords: young athletes; cakram gizi; educational media; athlete performance

Abstract

One of the causes of improper nutritional intake of athletes is that athletes have not received education/knowledge about nutrition in sport performance for athletes. Inadequate nutritional intake of athletes is one of the triggers for fatigue and risk of injury. This activity aims to increase to knowledge and attitudes of athletes regarding proper nutritional intake and proper handling of injuries in athletes. Community service activities are carried outthrough education and simulation of food and drink selection in handling injuries to athletes, as many as 22 PS Sleman Development Center athletes who are members of the U-16 groups on 7 July 2022 at Macanan Squarem Prambanan, Yogyakarta . Community service activities are carried out in several stages in their implementation, starting from preliminaru studies,coordination with coaches, making materials, simulating food dan drink selection in handling athlete’s injuries. The increase in knowledge was measured from the average value of the pretest before being given educational on question number 2, which was 72,64 and after being given education it increased to 81,72. The increase in knowledge was measuredfrom the average value of the pretest before being given educational on question number 5, which was 90,8 and after being given education it increased to 95,34. The maximun posttest score at the end of session after being given education is 80 with a minimum score of 20. Nutrition education activities for athletes are expected to be carried out on an ongoing basisas an effort to assist appropriate nutritional interventions for athletes, especially when athletes experience injuries. Abstract

Komponen pendukung tercapainya prestasi optimal adalah asupan gizi yang sesuai. Pemenuhan asupan gizi yang tepat secara jumlah, jenis, dan periode latihan dibutuhkan oleh atlet. Atlet sepakbola belum memenuhi asupan gizinya secara tepat dan kebutuhan cairan sehari masih kurang. Orang tua atlet terlebih pada atlet remaja memiliki peran besar dalam menyiapkan gizi yang tepat. Banyak orang tua atlet yang belum mengetahui menu yang tepat yang dibutuhkan oleh atlet remaja. Penggunaan teknologi informasi menjadi penting untuk dilakukan. Aplikasi teknologi berbasis web yang sudah dikembangkan sebelumnya dan digunakan sebagai media edukasi adalah smartwebcalc. Smartwebcalc ini berfungsi memberikan informasi yang lebih mudah dipahami terkait perhitungan kebutuhan gizi dan pemenuhan asupan gizi pada atlet berdasar usia, jenis kelamin, dan status aktivitas atlet. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada bulan 29 Juni 2024 di Maguwoharjo football academy. Tujuan kegiatan ini memberikan pendampingan pengaturan menu seimbang melalui smartwebcalc. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan pada orang tua atlet sebanyak 12 orang. Metode pendidikan dan pelatihan digunakan pada kegiatan ini, yang terdiri dari: pendampingan penggunaan smartwebcalc dalam pengaturan menu seimbang dan stimulasi menu gizi seimbang pada atlet. Pengaturan menu yang dibuat oleh orang tua atlet sudah benar sesuai jadwal makan, menu makanan, banyaknya gram dalam ukuran rumah tangga (URT). Setiap kali makan utama terdiri dari sumber karbohidrat, protein hewani, protein nabati, lemak, sayur dan buah. The supporting component for achieving optimal performance is appropriate nutritional intake. Fulfillment of the right nutritional intake in terms of quantity, type, and training period is needed by athletes. Football athletes have not met their nutritional intake properly and their daily fluid needs are still lacking. Parents of athletes, especially adolescent athletes, have a big role in preparing the right nutrition. Many parents of athletes do not know the right menu needed by adolescent athletes. The use of information technology is important to do. A web-based technology application that has been developed previously and used as an educational medium is smartwebcalc. Smartwebcalc functions to provide easier-to-understand information regarding the calculation of nutritional needs and fulfillment of nutritional intake in athletes based on age, gender, and athlete activity status. The aim of this activity is to provide assistance in setting a balanced menu via smartwebcalc. This community service activity was carried out on June 29, 2024 at the Maguwoharjo football academy. This service activity was carried out on 12 parents of athletes. The education and training methods used in this activity, which consisted of: assistance in using smartwebcalc in setting a balanced menu and stimulation of a balanced nutritional menu for athletes. The menu arrangements made by the athlete's parents are correct according to the eating schedule, food menu, number of grams in the Household Measure (URT). At each meal the main meal consists of a source of carbohydrates, animal protein, vegetable protein, fat, vegetables anda fruit.

Abstract

Background: Athlete performance in Indonesia is often hindered by inadequate nutrient intake. The nutritional intake of athletes is influenced by their knowledge of nutrition. The knowledge and attitudes of athletes regarding nutritional needs can be enhanced through the educational media of the Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet. Objective: To determine the effect of education using the Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet on athletes' knowledge and attitudes related to nutrition. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design was used in this research. A total of 33 adolescent athletes aged 13-15 years from SSB Baturetno were selected as respondents using accidental sampling. Data were collected through a validated questionnaire, with interventions conducted twice a week. The Paired Sample T-test was used to analyze the pre-test and post-test I knowledge data, while the Wilcoxon Rank Test was applied for the pre-test and post-test II knowledge, as well as all tests on attitude scores. Results: The average pre-test knowledge score is 6.61±1.903. The average post-test I knowledge score is 9.18±2.833, and the median post-test II knowledge score is 10 (range 5-14). The median pre-test attitude score is 10 (range 4-14), with median post-test I and II attitude scores being 11 (range 4-14) and 12 (range 6-14), respectively. There was an effect of education on knowledge with p1<0.001; p2<0.001; p3=0.06. There was an effect of education on attitude with p1=0.014; p2<0.001; p3=0.369. Conclusions: There was an influence of the education using Cakram Asupan Makan dan Cairan Atlet on athletes' knowledge and attitudes towards nutrition.

Abstract

Prestasi atlet sangat didukung oleh performa yang optimal selama bertanding. Motivasi merupakan faktor penentu untuk meningkatkan prestasi atlet. Seorang pelatih merupakan salah satu motivator bagi seorang atlet dan mendukung prestasi yang optimal. SSB Baturetno merupakan salah satu sekolah sepak bola yang memiliki kualitas atlet yang sangat baik. Pendampingan gizi bagi pelatih sangat diperlukan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelatih dalam memberikan pendidikan bagi atlet. Pengetahuan yang baik bagi seorang atlet akan berdampak positif bagi peningkatan prestasi. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan pelatih tentang menu gizi seimbang bagi atlet sepak bola junior. Pengabdian masyarakat melalui upaya pendampingan gizi dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus-Desember 2020 di SSB Baturetno. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 11 orang pelatih dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan. Pendampingan gizi yang diberikan adalah pemberian edukasi mengenai pengaturan pola makan, sport drink, dan sport food selama latihan dan pertandingan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan melalui diskusi kelompok terarah, ceramah, diskusi, dan penerapan penyusunan menu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan skor pengetahuan sebelum 86,82, dan skor pengetahuan setelah pendampingan meningkat menjadi 91,91 (p=0,068). Kegiatan pendampingan gizi bagi pelatih dapat menambah pengetahuan tentang pengaturan menu seimbang.
