Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between school literacy and interest in reading in elementary school students. This type of research uses quantitative research. This survey uses a closed survey by distributing questionnaires directly to informants. The purpose of distributing this survey is to ensure that informants obtain complete data about the problem without worrying about the answer. The data analysis technique in this research is the Normality Test and the Linearity Test. The results of this study show that the frequency distribution of the school literacy movement variable is at an interval score of 57.73 ≤ X ≤ 67.36 in the medium category with a frequency of 16 students, while the reading interest variable is at an interval score of 50.00 ≤ X ≤ 59.00 in the medium category with a frequency of 16 students. In a simple correlation analysis between school literacy movement and reading interest there is a strong relationship because the Pearson Correlation value is 0.642 where this value is in the range between 0.61 – 0.80. In addition, the value of the ginifiance is also 0.001 < sig 0.05. There is a significant relationship between school literacy and interest in reading in elementary school students.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di SD Negeri 4 Lakudo adalah untuk membantu mahasiswa menjadi lebih mahir dalam mengelola kegiatan Program Pengenalan Lapangan Prasekolah. Mahasiswa akan berlatih melakukan observasi langsung terhadap budaya sekolah, observasi untuk mengembangkan kompetensi, dan observasi langsung terhadap proses pembelajaran di kelas selama kegiatan pengabdian ini. Guru, staf dan dosen pembimbing di SD Negeri 4 Lakudo turut membimbing mahasiswa dalam melakukan kegiatan obsevasi ini sehingga dapat direalisasikan dalam kegiatan selanjutnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini menggunakan metode survey lapangan. Program ini melibatkan kepala sekolah dan guru SD Negeri 4 Lakudo. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan pencapaian yang sangat baik dari indikator yang ditetapkan untuk observasi, sikap, dan kedisiplinan. Dengan bobot skor 1048,34 dan nilai rata-rata 87,37, Hal ini menandakan bahwa siswa dipersiapkan untuk melaksanakan praktik mengajar di SD Negeri 4 Lakudo dalam pelaksanaan Pengenalan Lapangan Prasekolah (PLP).

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga is to help students become more proficient in managing Preschool Field Introduction Program activities. Students will practice direct observation of school culture, observation to develop competence, and direct observation of the learning process in class during this community service activity. Teachers, staff and supervising lecturers at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga also guide students in carrying out this observation activity so that it can be realized in further activities. The method used in this service uses a field survey method. This program involves school principals and teachers at SD Negeri 3 Lamangga. The results of this service show that students have achieved the indicators set such as observation, attitude and discipline very well with a score weight of 1075.03 with an average score of 89.59.

Abstract

Basis Baitul Arqam merupakan kegiatan pengkaderan utama yang diselenggarakan untuk menyatukan visi dan membangun pemahaman nilai-nilai ideologis, sistem, dan gerakan aksi bagi dosen di lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi Muhammadiyah. Kegiatan Dasar Baitul Arqam yang diselenggarakan Pimpinan Daerah Pemuda Muhammadiyah Buton Pusat (PDPM Buton Tengah) ini dalam rangka penanaman ideologi Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan, penguatan identitas diri sebagai pemuda di Buton Tengah, peningkatan komitmen dan integritas dalam mengembangkan potensi pemuda, dan membentuk nilai-nilai moral pemuda unggul dan Islami. Peserta Baitul Arqam adalah para pemuda Buton Tengah yang berjumlah 12 orang. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah ceramah bervariasi, demonstrasi, simulasi dan diskusi. Hasil dari pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah peningkatan pengetahuan pada saat dilakukan pretest dan posttest.

Abstract

Evaluation is one of the most important components of learning, as it serves as a means to assess students’ abilities and achievements. In developing assessment tools, item analysis must be conducted to ensure the quality of the test items. This study aims to analyze the quality of the end-of-semester test items for Grade IV Indonesian Language subject in the 2024/2025 academic year, based on item difficulty level and discrimination index. This research is a quantitative descriptive study. Data collection was conducted through documentation of the Grade IV Indonesian Language end-of-semester test. The collected data were used to determine the quality and feasibility of the test items. The population of this study includes all items in the 2024/2025 Indonesian Language end-of-semester test at SDN 51 Buton. The sample consisted of the Grade IV test items, with a total of 17 students in the class. The results show that: (1) in terms of difficulty level, 9 items (45%) were categorized as easy, 11 items (55%) as moderate, and 0 items (0%) as difficult; (2) in terms of discrimination index, 2 items (8%) were categorized as very good, 8 items (42%) as good, 8 items (42%) as fair, and 2 items (8%) as poor. Overall, the quality of the Indonesian Language test items for the 2024/2025 academic year at SDN 51 Buton can be considered good, although improvements are still needed for several items to enhance the overall test quality. Therefore, item analysis based on difficulty level and discrimination index is essential to develop better test items in the future.

Abstract

This research is a literature review aimed at examining the practice of using interactive media in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools and its impact on classroom conditions. Interactive media has become an important tool in transforming learning from a conventional approach to a more dynamic and participatory one. In the context of Indonesian language learning, interactive media can create a conducive classroom atmosphere, increase learning motivation, and strengthen students' understanding of the learning material. The literature search was conducted by reviewing various scientific sources, both from accredited national journals and elementary education seminar proceedings. The study results indicate that interactive media such as learning videos, digital educational games, interactive quizzes, and technology-based applications can increase student engagement, improve classroom management, and build students' emotional and cognitive engagement with Indonesian language materials. The five main aspects identified in this study include increased student engagement, more effective classroom management, improved understanding of the material, development of communication skills, and the creation of a pleasant learning atmosphere. Therefore, the integration of interactive media in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools needs to be continuously developed through teacher training, infrastructure provision, and collaboration among educational stakeholders.

Abstract

Daily tests are a form of formative evaluation used to measure students' understanding of learning materials. However, in practice, daily tests often present various problems, such as learning anxiety, lack of student preparedness, and low student motivation and active participation. This literature review aims to examine students' roles in solving problems that arise during daily tests at the elementary school level. The literature review approach was conducted by reviewing various journals and scientific publications from the past five years that discuss students' active role in the learning evaluation process. The study results indicate that students' role in solving daily test problems can be maximized through independent learning strategies, the formation of study groups, self-reflection on test results, emotional and anxiety management, and open communication with teachers. It is also necessary to cultivate students' responsibility for their learning process so that they are not merely objects of evaluation but also active subjects in managing and solving academic problems. The study's conclusions confirm that active student involvement in daily tests significantly contributes to improved learning outcomes and the development of independent learner character. These findings provide important implications for teachers in designing learning and evaluation approaches that empower students.

Abstract

Microteaching practice is a crucial strategy for equipping prospective teachers with applicable pedagogical competencies. However, in its implementation within early grade classrooms of primary schools, students often face various complex challenges. This study aims to analyze the main difficulties encountered by students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Buton during microteaching activities, particularly in the fourth semester course. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The data were gathered from students currently undertaking microteaching and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that students struggle to develop contextual and practical lesson plans (RPP), lack the ability to deliver material in an engaging and communicative manner, and demonstrate limited use of instructional media appropriate to the characteristics of early-grade learners. These challenges indicate a gap between theoretical understanding and practical classroom application. Observational and interview data further support the notion that students are not yet fully capable of translating pedagogical theories into meaningful classroom activities for young children. This study concludes that enhancing the quality of microteaching guidance at the university level is essential, particularly in strengthening students' practical and reflective teaching skills. The research provides important contributions toward the development of more contextual and adaptive teacher training programs that respond to the instructional needs of early grade primary education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan guru dalam pengelolaan kelas sebagai solusi untuk meningkatkan minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus tunggal yang dilaksanakan di SDN 2 Palatiga, Kota Baubau. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi kelas, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, serta analisis nilai awal dan akhir siswa. Instrumen divalidasi melalui triangulasi teknik dan sumber, serta member checking oleh guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran aktif seperti diskusi kelompok, penggunaan media konkret dan visual, bermain peran, serta pendekatan kontekstual mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa secara signifikan. Pengelolaan kelas yang berbasis prinsip humanistik dan partisipatif juga berperan penting dalam menciptakan suasana belajar yang kondusif, ramah, dan memotivasi siswa untuk aktif. Data menunjukkan peningkatan minat belajar yang tercermin dari skor observasi dan refleksi siswa, serta peningkatan nilai akademik rata-rata sebesar 11,6 poin. Penelitian ini mengonfirmasi relevansi teori Piaget, Vygotsky, Bruner, dan Freire dalam konteks pembelajaran dasar, serta mendukung prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa sinergi antara strategi pembelajaran adaptif dan pengelolaan kelas yang reflektif menjadi kunci peningkatan minat belajar di tingkat sekolah dasar.
