Abstract

The Health Law is one of the legal foundations governing the competence of the nursing profession. Nurses need to increase their understanding and awareness of the law to be able to make the right decisions in real-life situations. Increased legal understanding must also be accompanied by changes in nurse behavior to increase efficiency to support the quality of service to clients. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses' knowledge about the Health Law to the performance of nurses at Intan Husada Garut Hospital. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional research method with random proportional sampling. The research instrument used was a questionnaire of nurses' knowledge regarding the Nurse Health and Performance Law. The number of participants in this study was 100 people. Most respondents are knowledgeable about health law (80.0%) and highly productive (70.0%). The results of bivariate statistics obtained that the relationship between knowledge of Health Law and Nurse Performance r (Rho) = 0.491 with a significance value (p-value) of 0.000<0.05 which states that there is a moderate and positive patterned relationship, meaning that the more nurse knowledge about Health Law, the higher the Nurse Performance. The questionnaire successfully identified a link between knowledge of Health Law and nurse performance, which is valuable to policymakers and researchers. Time constraints because respondents fill out questionnaires while working. More research and in-depth interviews are needed to explore other factors that affect nurse performance.

Abstract

Success in the learning system is determined by several factors including teachers, students, learning models, media, and learning facilities. One of the learning models that is considered appropriate and can create new learning conditions is the tutorial model and the cooperative group investigation (GI) model. In general, this study aims to determine the influence of the two models above on student learning outcomes on the concept of ecosystem. Respondents in this study were students of grades X 5 and 6, which were determined randomly. The type of research used is with a quantitative approach, the method used is an experimental approach. The instrument used as a data collection tool in the form of learning outcomes tests as many as 25 questions out of 30 questions after being tested for validity through validity, reliability, difficulty index, and differentiating power. The test was conducted twice with pre-test and post-test in experimental class 1 and experimental class 2. Based on the results of the study showed that; 1) there is an influence of the tutorial learning model on the ecosystem concept of student learning outcomes, 2) there is an influence of the group investigation (GI) cooperative learning model on the ecosystem concept of student learning outcomes, 3) there are differences in learning activities through the tutorial model and cooperative group investigation (GI). Overall, the tutorial learning model is better and more effective for overcoming student learning activity problems on the ecosystem concept than the group investigation (GI) cooperative learning model

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a growing public health issue in Indonesia, with West Java ranking 17th in prevalence. Many patients still exhibit low self-control in managing their condition. Purpose: To identify determinants of health locus of control (HLoC) among patients with type 2 DM at the Outpatien Unit of dr. Slamet Regional Public Hospital Garut. Method: A cross-sectional analytical survey was conducted among 103 patients using structured questionnaires assessing knowledge, attitude, motivation, and family support. Data were analyzed using Chi-square and logistic regression tests. Results: Significant associations were found between HLoC and attitude (p = 0.020), motivation (p = 0.001), and family support (p = 0.011), while knowledge showed no significant relationship (p = 0.074). Motivation emerged as the strongest determinant of HLoC (p = 0.001; OR = 5.379; 95% CI = 2.065–14.015). Conclusion: Motivation plays a key role in shaping the HLoC among type 2 DM patients. Those with higher motivation were over five times more likely to exhibit a strong internal HLoC. Strengthening patient motivation through education and empowerment strategies is essential to foster better self-management and outcomes in diabetes care.   Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus; Health Locus of Control; Motivation; Patient Empowerment; Self-Control. Kata Kunci: Diabetes Mellitus; Health Locus of Control; Motivasi; Pemberdayaan Pasien; Pengendalian Diri.
