Abstract

This research was motivated by the learning process, which still tends to use the explanation method on the material theme of the environment. The learning objectives have not been achieved optimally, affecting student learning effectiveness. One effort that can be used is by using Flash Card Fun Thinkers media. This study used a research and development (R&D) methodology. Flash Card Fun Thinkers media is based on ADDIE's development steps. The population in this study were 33 Second Graders of Elementary students at SD IT Iqro Stabat. The results of the research showed; (1) the material expert validity test scored 92% and was categorized very well, (2) the media expert validity test scored 86.67%, and it was said as in excellent qualifications, (3) the second graders of Elementary teachers’ validity test score was 90%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, (4) individual trials score was of 91.11%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, Small Group trials score was of 90.13%, and it was said in excellent qualifications, Large Group trials score was 88 % and it was said in excellent qualifications. The results showed a significant difference between the learning outcomes of students taught using the thematic Flash Card Fun Thinkers learning media and the conventional learning media.

Abstract

The research aims to develop learning media through traditional Rimau Langkat games. Nowadays, character education and cultural literacy are needed to create a generation that has cooperation, togetherness, and nationalism for each other and thus local wisdom has values that can be used to teach character education. This research is research and development (R&D) with the 4 D design proposed by Sivasailam Thiagarajan. 4 D design consists of define, design, development, and dissemination. The research involved experts in learning media, Langkat culture, and Rimau Langkat Games to assess the digital storytelling. The sample is fourth-semester students in English Department Study Program, STKIP Al Maksum. The research used one group pre-test post-test to know the influence of the electronic module in teaching character education to the students. Based on the discussion, the expert in learning media, Langkat culture, and language was assessed electronically in the two stages. In the first stage, the electronic module was invalid the score range was 58%. In the second stage, the electronic module was valid the score range was 90%. Furthermore, based on the t-test, the electronic module was effective to teach character education to the students.

Abstract

There was an argument that native English teachers have many advantages than non-native English teachers and students preferred native to non-native teachers; however, the argument had to be assessed. Many researchers had been exploring students’ perceptions of native and non-native English teachers worldwide in formal education institutions. This study aimed to explore students’ perceptions of native and non-native English teachers in a non-formal education institution. This was a qualitative study based on a descriptive approach conducted using three instruments: close-ended questionnaire, semi-structured interview, and documentation. The study revealed that native and non- native English teachers had their own specific roles in the Indonesian context. Students needed native more than non-native teachers because the latter were bilingual having the same mother tongue as them, and they enabled a successful learning process because of the effective learning strategies they shared. Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini pada daya tahan pemain futsal SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci yang masih kurang optimal, banyak pemain yang mudah merasa lelah ketika sedang latihan, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh latihan Interval Training terhadap daya tahan pemain. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh pemain futsal dengan menggunakan teknik total sampling ang berjumlah 12 atlet. Jenis penelitian ini adalah, menggunakan one-group pre-test-post-test design, dengan menggunakan Bleep Test . Berdasarkan analisis yang dilakukan, nilai thitung antara tes awal dan tes akhir latihan interval training terhadap daya tahan menunjukkan angka sebesar 3,735. Selanjutnya nilai yang diperoleh dibandingkan dengan ttabel pada taraf interval training signifikan 0,05 dengan derajat kebebasan N – 1 (11) ternyata menunjukkan angka 1,796, dapat disimpulkan bahwa latihan interval training berpengaruh terhadap daya tahan pada pemainfutsal SMA Negeri 1 Pangkalan Kerinci

Abstract

Di era digital, pengolahan data administrasi yang efektif sangat penting dalam mendukung kelancaran proses pendidikan. Namun, banyak guru yang masih menggunakan metode manual yang memakan waktu dan rentan kesalahan. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pengolahan data administrasi sekolah melalui pemanfaatan Google Spreadsheet pada guru-guru SMK. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan ini difokuskan pada pemberian keterampilan dasar dan lanjutan dalam menggunakan Google Spreadsheet untuk pengelolaan data administrasi, seperti absensi, nilai siswa, dan laporan kegiatan sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah pendekatan blended learning, yang menggabungkan teori dengan praktik langsung. Peserta diberikan kesempatan untuk mempelajari fitur-fitur dasar dan lanjutan Google Spreadsheet, seperti penggunaan rumus, pembuatan laporan otomatis, pengelolaan kolaborasi antar pengguna, serta pembuatan grafik untuk visualisasi data. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui kuis, tugas praktik, dan umpan balik dari peserta. Dengan adanya pelatihan ini, diharapkan para guru SMK dapat mengolah data administrasi dengan lebih efisien, akurat, dan tepat waktu, yang pada akhirnya akan mendukung kualitas manajemen pendidikan di sekolah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis procedure text dengan menggunakan media gambar. Procedure text merupakan jenis teks yang menjelaskan langkah-langkah untuk melakukan suatu kegiatan atau proses tertentu. Penggunaan gambar sebagai media pembelajaran diharapkan dapat membantu siswa memahami urutan langkah-langkah dalam suatu prosedur dengan lebih jelas dan menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain penelitian tindakan kelas. Dalam proses pembelajaran, gambar digunakan untuk menggambarkan langkah-langkah suatu prosedur, yang kemudian diikuti oleh siswa dalam menulis teks prosedural. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gambar sebagai media pembelajaran efektif dalam membantu siswa menyusun procedure text yang sistematis dan mudah dipahami. Selain itu, siswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kemampuan mereka untuk mengorganisasi informasi secara logis dan menyampaikan instruksi dengan jelas. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menyarankan agar guru menggunakan media gambar secara kreatif dalam pembelajaran procedure text untuk meningkatkan kualitas tulisan siswa.

Abstract

Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) adalah salah satu kegiatan usaha yang dijalankan perorangan atau individu, rumah tangga atau badan usaha skala kecil. Beberapa tahun belakangan ini UMKM memberikan dampak pertumbuhan yang positif dan signifikan, sehingga masyarakat luas menganggap UMKM sebagai penyelamat krisis ekonomi yang ada diindonesia. Usaha Kuliner “Mommy Yola Kitchen” merupakan sebuah usaha mikro yang didirikan oleh Ibu Lismawarty pada tahun 2020 pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Usaha ini didirikan atas ide dari teman beliau untuk mendapatkan pendapatan selama masa WFH/lockdown. Mommy Yola Kitchen bergerak dibidang kuliner yaitu makanan seperti kue-kue dan makanan utama seperti olahan nasi, puding dan sebagainya. sistem penjualan yang dilakukan masih jauh dari perkembangan teknologi, dimana belum adanya data penjualan yang terstruktur sehingga pelaku usaha tidak dapat untuk mengetahui hasil pendapatan dari penjualan baik per hari maupun per bulan. Pengelolaan yang kurang efisien dapat menghambat perkembangan usaha tersebut. meningkatkan produktivitas dan efisiensi operasional, tim pengabdian masyarakat mengembangkan sebuah aplikasi desktop yang dapat memudahkan pemilik UMKM dalam melakukan pencatatan transaksi, memonitor stok bahan baku, dan menghasilkan laporan penjualan secara otomatis.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve English Speaking through the Jigsaw method in second semester students at Sekolah Tinggi Olah Raga dan Kesehatan bina Guna Medan.. This class action research was carried out in the second semester of the 2023/2024 . The research consisted of two cycles with each cycle having three meetings. This research was conducted during a learning session to speak in dialogueWhen researchers conducted initial research, most of the students experience problems in communicating use English. Based on students' fear of making mistakes, lack of self-confidence,and has a low vocabulary. The researcher will sure by using the Jigsaw Method and the Students will more active in English Speaking , so that the will achieve the goal of English Speaking correctly because with more practice their vocabularies will increase and their skill English Speaking will be better. The researcher interest Researchers are interested in conducting research using the Jigsaw method because students are not confident and lack vocabulary in speaking English and hope that they can improve their speaking skills. The formulation of the problem is"How to improve your English speaking skills through Jigsaw Method at Second Semeter Students Sekolah Tinggi Olah Raga Kesehatan Bina Guna Medan In this study, The results of student responses show that most students are quite interested in applying the jigsaw method. there was an increase in the average score of students' speaking ability from 80.15, in the first cycle to 82.59 in the second cycle, accompanied by a boost in self-confidence.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The 17th August Independence Day celebrations in Indonesia have traditionally incorporated competitive sports events designed to foster national pride and patriotic spirit. However, limited empirical evidence exists examining the relationship between participation in these competitions and objective measures of physical fitness among students. This study aimed to investigate the effect of participation in 17th August traditional competitions on students' physical fitness levels, comparing active participants with non-participants across multiple fitness dimensions. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional comparative study was conducted with 248 secondary school students (aged 13-17 years; 124 participants, 124 non-participants) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Physical fitness was assessed using standardized tests including cardiorespiratory endurance (VO₂ max estimation), muscular strength (sit-ups and push-ups), flexibility (sit-and-reach test), speed (50-meter dash), and agility (shuttle run). Participants completed a structured questionnaire documenting competition participation history. Statistical analysis employed independent samples t-tests, ANCOVA, and linear regression analysis. Results: Students who participated in 17th August competitions demonstrated significantly superior physical fitness across multiple measures compared to non-participants: cardiorespiratory endurance (M = 38.2 vs. 32.1 mL/kg/min, p < 0.001), one-minute sit-ups (M = 32.4 vs. 28.7 repetitions, p = 0.002), flexibility (M = 15.3 vs. 12.8 cm, p < 0.001), and speed performance (M = 8.2 vs. 8.9 seconds for 50-meter dash, p = 0.001). Effect sizes ranged from small to moderate (d = 0.42 to 0.82). Participation in multiple events (≥3 activities) produced greater fitness improvements (β = 0.58, p < 0.001) than single-event participation. Conclusions: Participation in 17th August traditional competitions is positively associated with enhanced physical fitness in adolescent students. These culturally embedded competitive events show promise as practical vehicles for promoting youth physical activity and fitness while fostering national cultural values. Future longitudinal studies should examine long-term fitness trajectories and identify mechanisms sustaining physical activity post-event.
