Abstract

One of the efforts to improve the health status of the community is to encourage the utilization of health services. The number of patient visits at Lengkosambi Health Center fluctuates from 2021 to 2023, reflecting the influence of various factors such as predispositions, enablers, and needs in determining health service utilization. One factor that influences the utilization of these services is the community's perception of illness. People may feel healthy and do not need regular check-ups or treatment, even though they have unrecognized health risks. This study aims to determine the factors that influence health service utilization in the working area of Lengkosambi Health Center in 2024. This was an analytic survey study with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 5,023 people with a sample of 95 people selected through simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed by univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. The results showed that insurance ownership (p=0.002), availability of health workers (p=0.003), and perception of illness (p=0.005) had a significant influence on the utilization of health services at Lengkosambi Health Center. In contrast, accessibility (p=0.163) did not show a significant effect. Therefore, health workers at health center are advised to increase education to the community regarding the correct concept of health and illness and the importance of utilizing health services, even for complaints that are considered mild.

Abstract

Satisfaction of pregnant women towards maternal and child health services is one of the important indicators in evaluating the quality of health services. The satisfaction of pregnant women has a close relationship with the quality of service provided and is measured from five dimensions of service quality, namely tangibels, responsiveness, reliability, empathy, and assurance The purpose of this study was to determine the level of satisfaction of pregnant women towards maternal and child health services based on five dimensions of satisfaction. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, with a sample size of 49 pregnant women in the working area of Golowelu Community Health Center. Data analysis used univariate analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that the satisfaction of pregnant women towards maternal and child health services at Golowelu Community Health Center based on the tangibles dimension, most pregnant women stated that they were quite satisfied (75.5%). The reliability dimension, most stated that they were very satisfied (93.9%). The empathy dimension, most stated that they were quite satisfied (91.8%). The assurance dimension, most stated that they were very satisfied (98%), and the responsiveness dimension, most stated that they were very satisfied (91.8%). Maternal and child health services at Golowelu Community Health Center have met the standards of satisfaction among pregnant women, particularly in the dimensions of reliability, assurance, and responsiveness. However, improvements are still needed in the dimensions of tangibles and empathy.

Abstract

Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death worldwide, including in the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) where in 2022 there were 130,084 cases of death due to NCDs. Kupang City reported 10,943 cases. In the Oesapa Health Center area, the most common NCDs found were hypertension and diabetes mellitus. This study examines the implementation of the POSBINDU NCD program using the RE-AIM (Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, Maintenance) framework. The phenomenological qualitative approach involved seven informants, namely one program manager and six supporting participants. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews and observations. This program has succeeded in reaching individuals aged 15–59 years, both healthy and at risk, through activities in the workplace, schools, places of worship, and the community, with the support of local community leaders. POSBINDU was adopted as a tool for early detection, education, and control of NCDs. This program is planned to be continued through Integrated Primary Services (PPT). However, implementation and effectiveness are still limited due to low community participation, few trained health cadres, and inadequate infrastructure (e.g., equipment, health records, documentation). These challenges reduce the quality and impact of services.

Abstract

Drug management is a series of activities in health development that includes planning, procurement, receipt, storage, and distribution of drugs. This study aims to analyze drug management at Panite Health Center. This research used a qualitative descriptive method with data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation in June–July 2025. The informants of this study were three people, consisting of one main informant (Head of Panite Health Center), one expert informant (Pharmacist), and one supporting informant (Pharmaceutical Technical Staff). The results showed that drug planning at Panite Health Center has been running well. Drug procurement is carried out monthly and quarterly through the Health Office drug warehouse, but often the quantity received does not match the request. Drug receipt is done by the health center picking it up directly or being delivered by the health office. Drug storage is still constrained by limited space, so some drugs are stored in their primary packaging. Drug distribution is managed by pharmaceutical technical staff and adjusted to the needs of each sub-units, but there are often drug shortages during distribution. Therefore, the Panite Health Center needs to pay more attention to the implementation of applicable pharmaceutical service standards to overcome problems in drug management.

Abstract

Elderly Posyandu is a community-based health service that emphasizes promotive and preventive care for older adults. However, its utilization remains low in some areas. According to data from Noemuke Health Center, the attendance rate at Elderly Posyandu was 60% in 2021, increased to 70% in 2022, but sharply declined to 40% in 2023, falling far below the minimum service standard of 80%. This study aims to identify the factors associated with the utilization of Elderly Posyandu in the working area of Noemuke Health Center in 2024. This is a quantitative study using an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design. A total of 96 respondents were selected through simple random sampling from a population of 5,023 elderly individuals. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test at a significance level of 0.05. The univariate analysis showed that most respondents had low knowledge (57.3%), negative attitudes (59.4%), lacked family support (58.3%), and lived far from the Posyandu (69.8%). The bivariate analysis found significant relationships between knowledge, attitude, family support, and distance to services with the utilization of Elderly Posyandu (p < 0.05). It is recommended that health centers improve regular education and outreach to both the elderly and their families, especially in remote areas. Family involvement and community engagement are also crucial to enhance participation. Further research should explore other potential factors such as socioeconomic status and the role of community leaders in influencing the utilization of Elderly Posyandu.
