Abstract

Background: Higher education in Indonesia is very important to form quality human resources. Students, as the main part of higher education, often face great demands. Because of these various pressures and demands, students are a group that has a high potential for stress. Preparation of the final project is one of the stressors on students in the academic world. Purpose: This study aims to determine the relationship between self efficacy and social support with stress in students of the Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Public Health, Nusa Cendana University who are working on their final project. Methods: The type of research used in this study was an analytical survey with a Cross Sectional research design and the number of samples in this study consisted of 66 students from the class of 2020 who were selected using simple random sampling technique. The data analysis technique uses the Chi-square statistical test with a significance level of ? = 0.05. Results: The results obtained show that there is a relationship between self efficacy (p-value = 0.001) and social support (p-value = 0.000) with the stress of students who are doing their final project. Conclusions: It can be concluded that final year students face various challenges and pressures in the process of preparing their final project, which often lead to significant levels of stress. Factors such as self-efficacy and social support play an important role in influencing academic stress levels. High self-efficacy can help students feel more confident and capable of facing various difficulties, while social support from family, friends, and the surrounding environment can provide a sense of comfort and reduce the emotional burden they feel. Students of the Public Health Study Program of FKM Undana who are working on their final project are advised to increase self-confidence, seek social support, and manage stress through time management, adequate rest, and healthy eating and sleeping patterns. The faculty is expected to provide stress management programs, counseling, and support groups, and improve guidance services. This research can also be used as a reference for further studies on stress in students.

Abstract

Self-medication or self-treatment is an action taken to overcome a disease or symptoms of a disease experienced without going through a diagnosis or supervision from a doctor. Many Indonesian people do self-medication as an effort to treat the complaints/illnesses they experience, usually done to overcome complaints and minor diseases that are often experienced by the community, including gastritis. The purpose of this study is to find out the overview of the level of knowledge and attitudes towards gastritis self-medication behavior in Bello village, this study uses a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. The population in this study is all people with the status of gastritis sufferers in the working area of Bello Village. Samples were taken using a simple random sampling method. This study illustrates that the level of knowledge and attitude of respondents regarding self-directed behavior is still lacking. This can be seen from the number of respondents who think that gastritis is a disease that does not require a doctor's diagnosis, thus encouraging respondents to self-medicate on the basis of advice from family members who also have a history of gastritis.

Abstract

Hypertension is a disease that causes blood pressure in the blood vessels to increase above the normal limit, namely 120/80 mmHg. Hypertension cases in Oesapa in 2022 will be 4,985 cases, in 2023 there will be 4,625 cases and the majority of patients suffering from hypertension are patients 20-44 years old. One of the causes of the high number of hypertension cases is due to patient non-compliance in undergoing hypertension treatment. This study aims to analyze factors related to treatment compliance, namely knowledge, motivation to seek treatment, family support, the role of health workers, and ownership of health insurance. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional approach design. This research was conducted in the Oesapa Community Health Center Work Area in August 2024 with a total of 84 respondents suffering from hypertension aged 20-44 years. The data analysis technique uses the Chi-square statistical test. The results showed that knowledge, motivation, family support, the role of health workers has a significant relationship with treatment compliance. This study concludes that knowledge, motivation to seek treatment, family support, and the role of healthcare providers are associated with the adherence to medication treatment among hypertensive patients aged 20-44 years. Based on the research findings, it is recommended that regular health education be provided to working-age hypertensive patients to improve their knowledge about hypertension and the importance of treatment. For future research, it is suggested to develop studies on factors that can influence medication adherence by exploring other simpler factors and using different methods.

Abstract

Women of Childbearing Age (WCA) are at risk of breast cancer. Clinical Breast Exam (CBE) performed by healthcare professionals can help detect breast cancer early. However, the national coverage of CBE of 80% has not been met because the target achieved is only 13.7%. The coverage of CBE at the Bakunase Health Center has not met the target because it only reached 8.95% in 2023. This study aims to explore the experience of WCA in conducting CBE using the Health Belief Model approach. The research was descriptive with a qualitative approach. The informants consisted of eight women selected by using a purposive sampling technique. The results of the study found that informants felt susceptible to breast cancer if they had risk factors. The perceived severity of breast cancer was related to mastectomy and the risk of death. Breast cancer was considered curable with medical and herbal treatments. CBE was considered beneficial for informants because it could help detect symptoms of breast cancer early. Informants generally felt they had no obstacles to performing CBE, but some informants found it difficult to divide their time and felt afraid when deciding to perform CBE. The cues to act were encouragement from oneself (internal) and mass media, namely the internet, and advice from parents, husbands, and health workers (external). Self-efficacy in performing CBE was based on the informant's knowledge and experience. Education about breast cancer and CBE needs to be carried out regularly to increase knowledge that will encourage WRA to perform CBE.
