Abstract

School age children are susceptible to experiencing nutritional problems, one of which is due to environmentalfactors, especially the physical environment which provides broad, affordable food, higher energy densityand lack of consumption of fruits and vegetables. The efforts to improve the habit of eating fruits and vegetables inschool children is the existence of school based intervention. This study aim to analyze the effect of school basedintervention program to increase of fruit and vegetable consumption of elementary school students. The studytook place from February to May 2017 in Nganjuk, East Java. This study used experimental design with pre-postintervention with the number of subjects is 50 students (10-13 years) given three types of interventions is schoolgardening, cooking class, and giving of fruit and vegetables in school. The results showed that the presence ofthese three interventions can increased fruit consumption 130 g/day and vegetable 100 g/day and the availabilityof fruit and vegetables at home increased 81 g/week and 182 g/week. The results from recall SQ-FFQ 2x24 hoursshowed the average consumption of energy density decreased from 1420 kcal to 1241 kcal. Based on these results,school based intervention can be used as a strategy to increase fruit and vegetable consumption and availabilityfruit and vegetable at home

Abstract

Background: Adolescent women will experience puberty which is marked by the occurrence of menstruation. During menstruation, adolescents will experience problems such as menstrual pain or dysmenorrhea. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between consumption patterns and nutritional status with adolescent dysmenorrhea.Method: This study uses an analytical survey design with a cross sectional approach. Subjects were selected by purposive sampling, namely adolescent girls’ class XI MIPA 1-4, totaling 84 people. Data were analyzed using Pearson's test to determine the significance of the relationship between consumption patterns and nutritional status to adolescent dysmenorrhea.Result: This study showed a significant relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of dysmenorrhea in class XI students at SMA Negeri 2 Toraja Utara (p<0.05; r=0.0224). In addition, this study did not find any relationship between the level of energy and carbohydrate adequacy with the incidence of dysmenorrhea (p>0.05). The results of the statistical test showed r = -0.039, which means that there is a weak relationship in a negative direction between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and the frequency of carbohydrate consumption, and p = 0.726, which means that there is a relationship but not significant. This study also shows the results of statistical tests r = -0.036 and p = 0.743, which means that there is a weak and insignificant relationship between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and the frequency of consumption of caffeine sources.Conclusion: Based on the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the incidence of dysmenorrhea in most respondents is in the moderate level category and the nutritional status of respondents is generally in the normal category.

Abstract

Urban farming is a gardening activity that uses the home yard and can still be done even if the land is small/limited. RW 06 Galur Subdistrict is in an area of Central Jakarta which is relatively densely populated, where it is not possible to carry out gardening activities. Hydroponics and aquaponics are solutions to the problem of limited land. This activity aims to introduce, train and assist the public about hydroponic and aquaponic technology. This activity was carried out centrally at the Ceria Command RPTRA, RW 06 Galur Village in collaboration with Working Group 3 Galur Village from August – October 2023. The equipment used included 2 sets of hydroponic frames with a total of 196 holes and 1 set of aquaponic frames with 156 holes. The activity stages start with introducing tools and vegetable seeds, sowing together, monitoring, harvesting with residents, and evaluation. During the activity, vegetables were successfully harvested 3 times with yields of 12 kg per cycle, and 7 kg of catfish were successfully harvested. Some of the harvest is given to residents and stunted toddlers, and the other part is sold to be managed again by the RPTRA.           Keywords: Aquaponics; Hydroponics; Urban Agriculture Abstrak: Pertanian perkotaan atau dikenal sebagai urban farming merupakan kegiatan berkebun dengan memanfaatkan pekarangan rumah dan tetap bisa dilakukan walaupun lahan sempit/terbatas. RW 06 Kelurahan Galur berada di daerah Jakarta Pusat yang tergolong padat penduduk, dimana tidak memungkinkan untuk melakukan kegiatan berkebun. Hidroponik dan akuaponik merupakan solusi untuk permasalah keterbatasan lahan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan, melatih dan mendampigi masyarakat tentang teknologi hidroponik dan akuaponik. Kegiatan ini dilakukan secara terpusat di RPTRA Komando Ceria, RW 06 Kelurahan Galur bekerja sama dengan Pokja 3 Kelurahan Galur dari bulan Agustus – Oktober 2023. Alat yang digunakan meliputi 2 set rangka hidroponik dengan total 196 lubang dan 1 set rangka akuaponik dengan 156 lubang. Tahapan kegiatan dimulai dari pengenalan alat dan bibit sayur, menyemai bersama, monitoring, panen bersama warga, dan evaluasi. Selama kegiatan berlangsung sayuran berhasil di panen sebanyak 3 kali dengan hasil panen menghasilkan 12 kg per siklus, dan ikan lele berhasil di panen sebanyak 7 kg. Sebagian hasil panen diberikan untuk warga dan balita stunting, dan sebagian lainnnya dijual untuk dikelola kembali oleh RPTRA.  Kata kunci: akuaponik; hidroponik; pertanian perkotaan

Abstract

Healthy behavior is related to efforts to maintain and improve health. One of the healthy behaviors is eating with a balanced menu. A healthy consumption pattern must be applied to meet daily nutrition. The provision of special education to adolescents is expected to be able to provide knowledge, especially about nutritious food. Activities to provide education about nutritious food and nutritious food categories, Health Education about the benefits of nutritious food, Health Education about the recommendation to consume instant noodles, and Health education about the dangers of consuming excessive amounts of instant noodles to 33 respondents. The method used is the test work before and after the intervention. The delivery of material using the media continued with questions and answers from the presenters. The data results showed that the level of knowledge before the intervention was 15.2% and after the intervention showed an increase of 54.5%. The purpose of providing this education is expected that respondents will not only understand but also be able to apply it in their personal and family habits.Keywords: instant noodles; balanced nutrition; msg Abstrak: Perilaku sehat adalah perilaku yang berkaitan dengan upaya mempertahankan dan meningkatkan kesehatan. Salah satu perilaku sehat adalah makan dengan menu seimbang. Pola konsumsi yang sehat harus diterapkan untuk dapat memenuhi nutrisi sehari-hari. Pemberian edukasi khusus kepada remaja diharapkan mampu memberikan pengetahuan khususnya tentang makanan yang bergizi. Kegiatan pemberian edukasi mengenai makanan bergizi dan kategori makanan bergizi, Pendidikan Kesehatan tentang manfaat makanan bergizi, memberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan tentang anjuran mengonsumsi mie instan, memberikan edukasi Kesehatan tentang bahaya mengonsumsi mie instan dalam jumlah yang berlebih kepada 33 responden. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pengerjaan test sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Penyampaian materi dengan menggunakan media dan dilanjutkan dengan tanya jawab dari pemateri. Hasil data menunjukkan bahwa Tingkat pengetahuan sebelum diberikan intervensi 15,2% dan setelah dilakukan intervensi menunjukan peningkatan sebesar 54,5%. Tujuan dari pemberian edukasi ini diharapkan responden tidak hanya mengerti, tetapi juga dapat menerapkannya dalam kebiasaan pribadi maupun keluarga.Kata kunci: gizi seimbang; mie instan; msg

Abstract

Abstrak Di Indonesia prevalensi jantung termasuk penyakit jantung koroner (PJK) berdasarkan diagnosis dokter pada penduduk semua umur sebesar 1.5%. Hipertensi merupakan salah satu faktor terjadinya PJK. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan terkait penyakit PJK sehingga dapat meningkatkan kewaspadaan terhadap PJK. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Hall Asrama STIK Sint Carolus dengan sasaran pengunjung Klinik Pratama St. Carolus Paseban sebanyak 25 orang anggota prolanis hipertensi. Anggota prolanis hipertensi dipilih karena masih banyak persepsi yang salah terkait makanan, selain itu beberapa anggota tidak mengetahui dampak jika tekanan darah tidak terkontrol. Kegiatan ini dilakukan pada tanggal 10 November 2023 menggunakan media power point dan diberikan pre-posttest. Terdapat 10 pertanyaan yang digunakan untuk pre-posttest. Uji yang digunakan adalah Wilcoxon. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan antara sebelum dan setelah diberikan edukasi (p value = 0.052) tetapi terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan pada 32% responden dengan rata-rata nilai 84.40±8.20 menjadi 87.20±6.13, rata-rata peningkatan pengetahuan sebesar 15%. Pemberian edukasi gizi CERMAT dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan responden sehingga responden dapat meningkatkan kewaspadaan tehadap terjadinya PJK. Kata kunci: CERMAT; edukasi gizi; penyakit jantung koroner. Abstract In Indonesia, the prevalence of heart disease including coronary heart disease (CHD) based on a doctor's diagnosis in the population of all ages is 1.5%. Hypertension is one of the factors of CHD. The purpose of this activity is to increase knowledge related to CHD so that it can increase awareness of CHD. This activity was carried out at the Sint Carolus STIK Dormitory Hall with the target of visitors to the St. Carolus Paseban Primary Clinic as many as 25 hypertension prolanis members. Hypertension prolanis members were chosen because there are still many wrong perceptions related to food, besides that some members do not know the impact if blood pressure is not controlled. This activity was carried out on November 10, 2023 using power point media and given a pre-posttest. There were 10 questions used for the pre-posttest. The test used was Wilcoxon. The results of the analysis showed that there was no difference between before and after education (p value = 0.052) but there was an increase in knowledge in 32% of respondents with an average score of 84.40 ± 8.20 to 87.20 ± 6.13, an average increase in knowledge of 15%. Providing CERMAT nutrition education can increase respondents' knowledge so that respondents can increase awareness of the occurrence of CHD.  Keywords: CERMAT; coronary heart disease; nutrition education.

Abstract

Food Additives (BTP) are materials added to food to affect the taste, color, aroma, shape and properties of a food product, as well as maintain or improve nutritional value, inhibit food damage, maintain food freshness, improve food appearance. Vocational high school students majoring in culinary arts often use BTP for food products. This activity aims to improve students' knowledge about BTP at SMKN 33 Jakarta. The theme raised is ACETATE: Observe Carefully Food Additives that are Safe for the Body. The number of participants involved was 56 students. The series of activities began with a pretest, presentation of materials, discussion, games and posttest. The materials provided include; session 1: understanding and types of BTP, session 2: BTP that is safe to use and dangerous, session 3: characteristics of foods that use dangerous BTP and the impact of BTP on the body. The method used was counseling using powerpoint. The results of student knowledge before and after participating increased in the good category by 78.6%. It was seen that 41 students had an increase in knowledge scores on the posttest.Keywords: Food additives; nutrition education; adolescent  Abstrak: Jurusan tata boga merupakan salah satu jurusan SMK yang saat ini mulai berkembang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan minat. Siswa SMK jurusan tata boga sering mempergunakan Bahan Tambahan Pangan (BTP) untuk membuat produk makanannya. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan awal dan diskusi dengan guru SMKN 33, ditemukan bahwa sebagian besar siswa belum terpapar banyak mengenai BTP alami dan sintesis, serta belum terbiasa membaca label pangan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang BTP di SMKN 33 Jakarta. Jumlah partisipan yang terlibat sebanyak 56 siswa. Adapun rangkaian kegiatan dimulai dengan pretest, pemaparan materi dengan ceramah, lalu dilanjutkan dengan diskusi, games dan posttest. Materi mencakup pengertian dan jenis BTP, BTP yang aman dan berbahaya, ciri makanan dengan BTP berbahaya, serta dampaknya bagi tubuh. Media yang digunakan dengan penyuluhan menggunakan powerpoint. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu sebelum edukasi, sebanyak 25% siswa berada pada kategori pengetahuan baik, dan setelah edukasi, jumlah tersebut meningkat menjadi 78,6%. Selain itu, 41 siswa mengalami peningkatan nilai pengetahuan pada saat posttest.Kata kunci: Bahan tambahan pangan; edukasi gizi; remaja

Abstract

Adolescence is a period of transition from child to adult, during which changes occur rapidly in physical, cognitive and emotional growth and development. Providing education in the form of videos is one approach to convey information and messages that are easy to understand. Showing videos can stimulate the senses of hearing and vision, making adolescents more quickly receive information and remember it. This study was conducted to determine the effect of giving animated videos on eating habits, physical activity, and knowledge about balanced nutrition before and after being given nutrition education. This study used a Quasi-Experimental design with a Pretest-Posttest with Control Group Design approach. The research was conducted in June 2023 with a total of 68 students at SMA 4 PSKD Jakarta. Measurement of variables using a questionnaire includes eating habits, physical activity, and nutritional knowledge. Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate with the Wilcoxon Test. The results showed the effect of giving animated video media on eating habits (p value = 0.000), physical activity (p value = 0.000), and knowledge about balanced nutrition (p value = 0.000). Based on this study, it is known that animated videos are effective in improving eating habits, physical activity, and nutritional knowledge in adolescents. Abstract

Public awareness and ability to read food labels is still very low. A National Consumer Protection Agency survey stated that 6.7% of people in Indonesia pay attention to the completeness of food labels. One of the Messages of Balanced Nutrition is reading food labels. S1 Nutrition Study Program STIK Sint Carolus together with Nutritionists from the Galur Supporting Community Health Center provided counseling to mothers of toddlers on the topic "Let's Check the Coins (Composition and Nutritional Value Information) on Food Packaging" to 20 mothers of toddlers who visited the Posyandu. Counseling participants are given an identity and pretest form to fill out. The first session included material on definitions and food labels, and the second session provided material on how to read composition and nutritional value information. The third session involved practicing reading packaged food and conducting questions and answers and filling in the posttest form. After 3 days of providing material, monitoring and evaluation was carried out via Whatsapp. Based on the results of statistical analysis, 55% of mothers were classified as lacking knowledge during the pretest. However, it increased after nutrition education was carried out to 95% of mothers who were classified as well informed. The results of the Wilcoxon analysis show that there is a difference in knowledge between before and after counseling with p-value = 0.007. The results of monitoring and evaluation from 5 mothers, 100% of mothers had paid attention to food labels on packaging, especially composition and nutritional information. Metode yang digunakan yaitu pengerjaan test sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Penyampaian materi dengan menggunakan media dan dilanjutkan dengan tanya jawab dari pemateri. Hasil data menunjukkan bahwa Tingkat pengetahuan sebelum diberikan intervensi 15,2% dan setelah dilakukan intervensi menunjukan peningkatan sebesar 54,5%. Tujuan dari pemberian edukasi ini diharapkan responden tidak hanya mengerti, tetapi juga dapat menerapkannya dalam kebiasaan pribadi maupun keluarga.Kata kunci: gizi seimbang; mie instan; msg
