Abstract

This study aims to determine the emotional intelligence of female students who wear the full face veil. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The sampling technique was carried out with a total sampling of 38 students who wore the veil from several universities in Indonesia. The research instrument uses a Likert-shaped Emotional Intelligence Scale owned by Dika Sahputra. Questionnaires are distributed online through the Google Forms application from November 2019 to January 2020. The results showed that in general the emotional intelligence of students who wore the full face veil was in the high category. These results can be used as a basis for making programs for guidance and counseling services in tertiary institutions, as well as being the basis for policy making for university leaders and the government towards female students and women who use the full face veil

Abstract

The implementation of effective guidance and counselling services requires adequate facilities and infrastructure in accordance with national standards in Permendikbud No 111 of 2014 regarding guidance and counselling in secondary education in Indonesia. This study aims to describe the condition of the facilities and infrastructure for guidance and counselling in state secondary school; junior and senior state high school in Indonesia. The method used is the survey model. The research data were collected from 65 State Senior High Schools, 25 State Vocational High Schools and 58 State Junior High Schools spread over 71 districts/cities in 18 provinces in Indonesia. The instrument used a semi-open questionnaire adopted from Permendikbud No. 111 of 2014 regarding guidance and counselling in primary and secondary education. The results of the study showed as many as 4.68% of state senior high schools and 8.77% of state junior high schools did not have a counselling room. A total of 20.31% of state senior high schools, 58.82% of state vocational high schools, and 52.63% of state junior high schools did not have special room for individual counselling. A total of 10.93% of state high schools, 52.94% of state vocational high schools and 21.05% of state junior high schools did not have living room. A total of 39.06% of state senior high schools, 64.70% of state vocational high schools, and 64.91% of state junior high schools did not have group guidance and counselling rooms. A total of 31.25% of state senior high schools, 35.29% of state vocational high schools, and 59.64% of state junior high schools did not have data room. As many as 31.25% of state senior high schools, 82.35% of state vocational high schools, and 73.68% did not have library display room (bibliocounseling). This study revealed that the facilities and infrastructure for guidance and counseling in state secondary schools in Indonesia do not in accordance with the minimum standards issued in Permendikbud No. 111 of 2014. The implementation of effective and efficient guidance and counselling services requires facilities and infrastructure that corresponds with the minimum standards. Based on this study results, it is anticipated the stakeholders of guidance and counselling services, especially in education sections in Indonesia, would pay attention and provide the minimum standard of guidance and counselling facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Perdebatan tentang pemakaian cadar di seluruh dunia merupakan hal yang tidak pernah selesai. Penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya sudah banyak memaparkan temuan bagaimana pandangan itu baik dari sisi niqabis maupun masyarakat sebagai kelompok maupun institusi pemerintahan. Penelitian ini berusaha mengeksplorasi tema-tema dan makna dari hirarki kebutuhan Maslow terhadap motif mahasiswi yang memakai cadar serta ancaman psikologis yang menyertainya. Penelitian ini melibatkan 35 partisipan dari berbagai kampus yang ada di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan pertanyaan terbuka melalui Google Formulir dan dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa memakai cadar merupakan representasi bagi pemenuhan kebutuhan dalam hirarki kebutuhan Maslow mulai dari kebutuhan rasa mana, cinta kasih, aktualisasi diri, dan transedence. Sementara itu memakai cadar bukanlah representasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan fisiologis dan penghargaan dari manusia. Ancaman psikologis yang dialami sifatnya hanya personal dan kelompok bukan bersifat kelembagaan. Hal ini menjelaskan bahwa kebutuhan penghargaan dari manusia bukanlah sesuatu yang dapat menghalangi individu untuk dapat memenuhi kebutuhan aktualisasi dirinya pada konteks mahasiswi yang memakai cadar.

Abstract

The activity of responding to learning in the classroom is one of the indicators of the success of the learning process. One aspect that is very influential on students' ability to respond during learning is self-confidence. This study aims to develop and validate a student confidence instrument in responding to learning that can be used by counselors / counseling teachers in schools and researchers in the field of counseling. The instrument developed can measure students' level of confidence in responding. This research and development study was conducted in 2015 at SMA Negeri 8 Padang. The aspects of self-confidence measured in the instrument include: believing in themselves in responding, thinking positively in responding, having an internal locus of control in responding, and daring to accept and face the rejection of others in responding based on the theory of Fatimah (2008); Lauster (2012); Goel and Agarwal (2012). The validity test uses product moment correlation with an overall item validity value of 0.441. The reliability test used the Croncbach Alpha formula with a coefficient value of 0.705. The results of this data analysis mean that the self-confidence instrument in responding can be declared valid and reliable. So that the instrument of student confidence in responding to the developed can be used by school counselors / counseling teachers and counseling researchers to be able to measure the level of student confidence in responding to learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Adjustment is a global problem faced by almost all college freshmen in the world. Modules are one of the psychological assistance interventions that can help freshmen to improve the adaptation process. Kampus merdeka is a higher education policy program implemented by each university. The purpose of the study is to provide a narrative of the guidance and counseling module with an independent learning perspective in improving the self-adjustment of freshmen that meets the content and methodological requirements and describes the level of application by counselors in the guidance and counseling service unit of higher education. The research method used Research and Development model Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE). The research was conducted by testing the development product in the form of a module with Focus Group Discussion. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The development results show that the guidance and counseling module with an independent campus insight to improve the self-adjustment of freshmen is considered accommodating and effective to be applied to freshmen by counselors at the college level. Based on these findings, the prototype of the guidance and counseling module with an independent campus insight to improve the self-adjustment of freshmen can be used by counselors to help freshmen improve their adjustment in college. Keywords: Guidance & Counseling Module, Kampus Merdeka, Adjustment, Freshmen

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah  minat siswa dalam melanjutkan pendidikan dan bagaimanakah pelaksanaan bimbingan karir dalam mengembangkan minat siswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan di SMP Negeri 2 Lokop. Metode yang digunakan kualitati dengan teknik pengumpulan data, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data di analisis menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif yaitu menggambarkan fenomena yang ada di lapangan. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu pertama, lemahnya minat siswa dalam melanjutkan pendidikan setelah tamat dari SMP Negeri 2 Lokop, dapat di lihat   pada Tahun 2016 hanya 45% dan pada Tahun 2017 55% yang melanjutkan pendidikan, hal tersebut dapat diketahui  dari indikator minat yaitu: : 1) perhatian siswa  semakin berkembang terhadap pendidikan 2. Perasaan senang 3) ketertarikan 4) keingian dan 5) siswa tidak giat dalam belajar. Kedua, pelaksanaan bimbingan karir, layanan yang dierapkan dalam pelaksanaan bimbingan karir ialah a. Layanan orientasi b. Layanan informasi c.  layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan metode ceramah dan diskusi  langkah-langkah pelaksanaan bimbingan karir ialah, tahap pertama pendahuluan kedua tahap inti ketiga tahap penutup dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pelaksanan bimbingan karir ini, berhasil dapat dilihat pada Tahun 2018 66% dan pada Tahun 2019 75% siswa yang melanjutkan pendidikan, dapat ketahui dari indikator minat: 1) perhatian siswa  semakin berkembang terhadap pendidikan 2. Perasaan senang 3) ketertarikan 4) keingian dan 5) siswa terlihat semakin giat dalam belajar.
