Social media functions not only as a promotional tool but also as a communication channel that allows for direct feedback from customers. This provides opportunities for MSMEs to innovate according to market needs. This implementation strategy also supports increasing digital literacy among small business owners to be more adaptive to changes in consumer behavior. Thus, the collaboration between visual branding aspects and digital platforms becomes a strong foundation for the sustainable growth of MSMEs.

Abstract

Divine Humanism, initiated by Ali Shari’ati, offers an integrative view of forming human identity based on divine values. In this view, humans are understood not only as material entities but also as spiritual beings with moral responsibilities towards themselves, society, and God. Shari’ati emphasizes that the unity between humans, nature, and God is the foundation for building a complete human identity. This study aims to explore and understand the concept of divine Humanism in Ali Shari’ati’s thought, focusing on key works such as Man and Islam, Religion vs. Religion, and Marxism and Other Western Fallacies. The study explores the core ideas, principles, and implications of divine Humanism and how divine values contribute to forming human identity. It found that humans are considered material and spiritual beings with moral responsibilities towards God, self, and society. The concept of tawhid, which emphasizes the unity of God, man, and nature, is the basis of a complete human identity. Shari’ati's divine humanism criticizes secularism and secular humanism, which ignore spirituality, fuel moral crises, ethical relativism, and alienation. As an alternative, he places divine values such as justice, compassion, and social responsibility at the core of human identity and the driver of social transformation. This study makes an important contribution to global social issues by offering Ali Shari‘ati’s divine humanism approach as a framework for understanding and overcoming the challenges of modernity, such as dehumanization, moral crisis, and ethical relativism.

Abstract

The phenomenon of catcalling remains common in campus interactions and appears through direct verbal and nonverbal communication without personal relationships or consent from the recipient. This study aims to analyze verbal and nonverbal communication patterns in the catcalling phenomenon at the University of North Sumatra by using the Stimulus–Organism–Response (S-O-R) theory as an analytical framework. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method through in-depth interviews with female students who had experienced catcalling on campus. The findings show that verbal communication patterns appear through calls, comments, and seductive expressions such as “beautiful,” “dear,” “sst beautiful,” and “smile, please.” Nonverbal communication patterns are shown through intense stares, whistles, smiles, and body gestures directed at victims. These forms of communication function as stimulus that triggers internal psychological processing among victims, including discomfort, fear, and vigilance. The responses that emerge include silence, ignoring the perpetrator, avoiding eye contact, and leaving the location. The theoretical contribution of this study lies in explaining catcalling as a patterned interpersonal communication process in which verbal and nonverbal messages operate as stimulus, victims’ emotional and cognitive experiences function as organism, and defensive actions appear as response. Thus, catcalling is not merely a spontaneous act, but a repeated communication pattern shaped by verbal expressions, nonverbal cues, and interactional situations in campus spaces.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of coalition and opposition within Indonesia’s multiparty presidential democracy, with particular attention to the implications of coalition dominance for democratic accountability, legislative oversight, and policy quality. The research is motivated by the tendency of political parties in Indonesia to form broad governing coalitions, often driven not only by programmatic alignment but also by short-term political interests, access to executive positions, and strategic bargaining. Using a literature review with an interpretive-phenomenological approach, this study analyzes scholarly works, electoral developments, and coalition configurations from the post-2004 direct presidential election era to the 2024 political transition. The findings indicate that coalitions are essential for maintaining governmental stability in a fragmented multiparty system; however, oversized coalitions may weaken the institutional role of opposition parties and reduce the effectiveness of checks and balances. A weak opposition can also increase the risk of power concentration, limit alternative policy debates, and diminish public control over government decisions. At the same time, political fragmentation may create legislative deadlock when coalition management is not supported by programmatic consistency and institutional discipline. This study argues that a healthy democracy requires a proportional balance between governing coalitions and constructive opposition. Strengthening opposition functions, improving coalition ethics, and encouraging issue-based political cooperation are necessary to enhance democratic consolidation, prevent abuse of power, and ensure that coalition politics remains oriented toward public welfare rather than merely elite interests.

Abstract

This study examines the History of Religious Tolerance: A Case Study in Perbulan Village, Laubaleng District, Karo Regency. The purpose of this research is to describe the history and development of religions and to analyze the forms of religious tolerance in Perbulan Village, Laubaleng District, Karo Regency. The method used in this study consists of heuristics (source collection), verification (source criticism), interpretation, and historiography (writing), based on field research and literature review. The results show that the people of Perbulan Village belong to a pluralistic community, both ethnically and religiously. Christianity and Islam have developed in this village since the early 20th century. The emergence of Christianity in Perbulan Village is inseparable from the role of European missionaries, and during the independence era it continued through evangelists from the Karo ethnic group itself, particularly through various church organizations, especially the Batak Karo Protestant Church (GBKP). Meanwhile, the emergence of Islam in Perbulan Village is closely linked to preachers from Aceh, which was later continued by preachers from the Karo ethnic group, especially the figure of Syaikh Sulaiman Tarigan (1887–1961), and later supported by preachers sent by Islamic mass organizations such as Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah, Muhammadiyah, Ittihadiyah, and other groups up to the present day. In terms of tolerance values, the community is bound by kinship systems such as rakut sitelu, merga silima, and tutur si waluh jabu, which help prevent social obstacles and horizontal conflicts in community life despite their religious differences.
