Abstract

This literature review investigates the potential synergies between forest conservation, technological innovation, and renewable energy in order to promote sustainable development in Indonesia. Indonesia can cut fossil fuel use and carbon emissions with its solar, wind, hydro, and biomass energy potential. This study examines the economic and environmental effects of renewable energy adoption and how smart grids, energy storage, and drone and satellite-based monitoring can conserve forests. Lack of empirical data on the long-term implications of this integration is shown by study gaps. This article offers pragmatic policy suggestions and implementation tactics to maximise financial and environmental benefits. A Central Kalimantan REDD+ project reduced deforestation, protected wildlife, and boosted local economy. This study should help governments and industry establish sustainable policies and raise public understanding of the necessity of integrating renewable energy, technology, and forest protection. If all stakeholders agree, this integration can become a paradigm for sustainable development in Indonesia, ensuring a brighter, greener future.

Abstract

Investing in green technologies for plastic waste processing presents both strategic opportunities and complex risk challenges. This study uses a literature review approach to identify, analyze, and classify the key risks associated with green investment projects in the plastics recycling sector, including technological, market, regulatory, and financial risks. Through analytical reviews of reports and studies based on impact matrix models, technological risk is found to be the most dominant, followed by market and regulatory risks. The study also highlights the importance of collaboration among industry players, investors, research institutions, and government agencies in formulating adaptive and systematic risk mitigation strategies. Suggested policy recommendations include regulatory alignment, fiscal incentives, and technical capacity building. With a structured risk management approach, investments in green technologies are expected to contribute significantly to the development of a sustainable circular economy in Indonesia.

Abstract

The small-scale fisheries industry in Indonesia plays a crucial role in food security and local economic resilience. However, the industry continues to face challenges in profitability and operational efficiency. This study employs a literature review approach to analyze the performance of small-scale fisheries through profitability indicators (net profit margin, return on assets, or ROA) and operational efficiency (input-output ratio, data envelopment analysis, or DEA). The findings indicate a positive correlation between technical efficiency and increased profit margins. The identified key barriers to financial inclusion include low financial literacy, limited technology access, and restricted market reach. Conversely, cooperatives, technical training, and business digitalization have emerged as pivotal enabling factors. This study proposes a data-driven policy approach and multi-stakeholder collaboration as a means of enhancing competitiveness and sustainability in this sector. When implemented with strategic precision, small-scale fisheries have the potential to transform into a robust component of the coastal economy, achieving global competitiveness.
