Abstract

Community participation is a stage where the community participates in the process of drafting laws and regulations. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to analyze the background of the need for communities to participate in the process of forming laws and regulations and the challenges faced by local communities when involved in the process of forming laws and regulations. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study, which is a data collection technique by reviewing books, literature, memos, and various reports related to the problem to be solved, in order to develop productivity concepts that can be used as a foundation. The results of this study show that community participation is a stage that provides opportunities for the community to participate in the preparation of laws and regulations in accordance with the provisions of the law. Community participation is a mandatory legal norm. So that public participation becomes a mandatory process when drafting laws and regulations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges faced in implementing the Pancasila and Civics Education (PPKn) learning model in the Merdeka Curriculum at SMP Negeri 27 Medan. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. The location of this research is SMP Negeri 27 Medan because this school has adopted the Merdeka Curriculum with a focus on Civics. Data were collected through interviews with Civics teachers, and document analysis related to the curriculum and learning models applied. The results showed several challenges faced in implementing the Civics learning model, including, among others, teachers being required to be more creative to maximize learning design to make it more interesting and so that students do not feel bored and students' resistance to changes in learning approaches. This research provides in-depth insight into the practical and conceptual challenges that need to be overcome to improve the effectiveness of the Civics learning model in the Merdeka Curriculum. The implications of these findings can be used as a basis for developing better educational policies and implementing more effective strategies in facilitating Civics learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Citizenship Education (PKn) has an important role in forming national character. This research aims to identify the influence of Citizenship Education learning on improving the character of Citizenship Education Program (PPKN) students at Medan State University (UNIMED). The research method used is quantitative analysis using a questionnaire to collect data from UNIMED PPKN students. The results of the research show that learning Citizenship Education has a significant positive influence on improving student character. These findings provide an important contribution in strengthening the role of Citizenship Education in shaping student character, as well as providing a basis for developing more effective learning strategies in the future. It is hoped that this research can provide useful insights for curriculum development and learning of Citizenship Education in higher education environments.
