Abstract

Abstract

The focus of this research is to create a conceptual framework that can be used to explain how leaders can promote a better work culture within the company. The main focus of the research is on how leadership styles, organizational culture, and employee motivation relate to each other and how these factors impact performance. Transactional leadership tends to be better at maintaining discipline and structure, but it is less effective in fostering long-term innovation. On the other hand, transformational and servant leadership styles have been proven to enhance employee engagement, motivation, and creativity. To create a positive work environment, there needs to be a supportive work culture, such as open communication, employee empowerment, and recognition of their work. The results show that an inclusive leadership style must be integrated with a strong organizational culture to enhance employee motivation, engagement, and performance. This study contributes to the development of leadership theory and practice in dynamic contemporary organizations.

Abstract

Sanankerto Tourism Village was recognized as one of the best tourism villages at the 2021 Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia award. However, the Covid-19 pandemic led to significant challenges, causing many tourism products and activities to falter. There is now a discourse on revitalizing Sanankerto Tourism Village, highlighting the need to assess the community's willingness to engage in decision-making processes regarding the village's development. Community involvement is crucial to ensure that grassroots ideas, which are vital for development, are incorporated. Engaging the community in the development process is expected to make Sanankerto Tourism Village more advanced, innovative, and creative, while also fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility among the residents. The level of community participation was evaluated using descriptive analysis, scoring, and weighting methods to determine its value. The analysis revealed a score of 1,213.10, placing the community in the Delegated Power category on Arnstein's Ladder of Participation. At this level, the government grants authority to the community for making planning decisions, giving them control over some or all of the programs to be implemented.

Abstract

Peri-urban agriculture (PUA) provides vital ecosystem services to urban regions—from local food security and flood mitigation to biodiversity conservation and recreation—yet it is increasingly strained by urbanization pressures. This review synthesizes recent research on PUA’s multifaceted role as a regional ecosystem service and examines how rapid urban expansion is reshaping peri-urban landscapes. The synthesis highlights recurring patterns of agricultural land fragmentation, ecosystem service degradation, and socio-economic transformation in peri-urban zones under urban expansion, with notable contrasts between developed and developing regions. The review further identifies conditions under which PUA systems demonstrate resilience or decline, showing that the loss of peri-urban farmland can exacerbate urban vulnerabilities such as disaster risk and food insecurity. Persistent urban–rural governance gaps and spatial planning challenges emerge as central constraints, as peri-urban areas frequently fall between rural and urban jurisdictions, resulting in fragmented policies and institutional blind spots. Drawing on comparative evidence from multiple regional contexts, the review concludes with policy-relevant insights for strengthening peri-urban governance, safeguarding agricultural land, and enhancing the contribution of peri-urban agriculture to sustainable urban and regional development.
