Abstract

Increased public interest in red rice and black rice has triggered breeders to develop superior varieties that have high yields and are tolerant of the threat of drought. Genetic parameters are the basis needed for breeding to develop superior varieties. This research aims to examine the genetic parameters of pigmented rice genotypes grown upland. The experiment was carried out in June – September 2024 experimentally in the field using a gogo system, namely in Tampak Siring Village, Batukliang, Central Lombok, NTB. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 21 treatments, 10 red rice lines, 4 black rice lines, 4 parent lines, and 2 comparison varieties. Obtained 63 experimental units by repeating each treatment three times. The data collected was then analyzed using a one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) model at a confidence level of 95% (α=5%), genetic diversity coefficient (KKG) formula, heritability and genotypic correlation. Referring to the analysis that has been carried out, the findings of the coefficient of genetic diversity and heritability of the number of full grains, weight of 100 grains, yield per plot of red rice and black rice lines are in the high category. The number of productive tillers, weight of 100 grains and weight of grain per hill had a significant positive correlation with the yield per plot, while the number of empty grain parameters had a significant negative correlation with the yield per plot.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the diversity, distribution, dominance, and yield loss of corn due to competition from broadleaf weeds. Descriptive research method with direct survey techniques of research objects. Data were collected using 10 sample plots measuring 1 m2, which were placed using random sampling. Observation parameters include the population and dry biomass weight of weeds and corn. The data was analyzed descriptively and comparatively by calculating density, frequency, and dominance to obtain an important value index and summation diminance ratio (SDR). The results of the research showed that 14 species of broad-leaved weeds were found with high species diversity, distribution, dominance, and abundance indices. The competitiveness and relative weighted dominance of six weed species, namely Amaranthus spinusus, Amaranthus gracilis, Synedrella nodiliflora, Acalypha indica, Ageratum conyzoides, and Alternanthera philoxeroides, are higher than those of other weed species, causing corn yield losses of 5.56%–21.90%. Therefore, these six weed species must be controlled.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the agronomic traits and yield performance of several promising pigmented rice lines, including red and black rice, grown in medium-lowland paddy fields. The research was conducted from March to June 2025 at an altitude of 402 meters above sea level in Tampak Siring Village, Batukliang District, Central Lombok Regency. The experimental method used was a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of 21 treatments, including 11 red rice lines, 4 black rice lines, and 4 parental lines (IPB3S, Situ Patenggang, Baas Selem, and the red rice promising line F2BC4P19-36), along with 2 check varieties, Impago Unram 1 and IR64. Each treatment was replicated three times, resulting in a total of 63 experimental units. The observed data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA), and significant differences among treatments were further tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the agronomic performance of both red and black rice lines exhibited medium maturity, with flowering time ranging from 83 to 93 days after sowing and harvesting time from 120 to 129 days after sowing. The number of productive tillers ranged from 12 to 19 tillers, panicle length ranged from 23 to 27 cm, the number of filled grains per panicle ranged from 130 to 147 grains, and grain weight per clump ranged from 33 to 41 grams. The highest grain yield was recorded in the red rice line G-2M (F7 IPB3S/F2BC4P19-63/FAT/F2BC44P19-63-PD3/15) at 4.99 t/ha, which was higher than its parental lines IPB3S (G1-6IPB3S) at 4.31 t/ha and GH Merah (G-20GHBM) at 3.83 t/ha. Among black rice lines, G-12H (F11BLK.SP/BS 2/1/1/P4) yielded 4.42 t/ha, compared to Baas Selem (G-18BS) at 3.86 t/ha, Situ Patenggang (G-17SP) at 4.63 t/ha, and the check variety IR64 (G-21IR64) at 3.60 t/ha.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui nilai heritabilitas arti luas dan koefisien korelasi genotipik karakter kuantitatif galur S5 tanaman jagung di lahan kering. Penelitian dilaksanakan di lahan kering dengan sumber air sumur bor pada bulan Februari hingga Juni 2025, bertempat di Desa Gumantar, Kecamatan Kayangan, Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) nonfaktorial dengan 16 genotipe yang terdiri atas 16 galur S5 dengan masing-masing diulang dua kali sehingga diperoleh 32 unit percobaan. Karakter yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, sudut daun, diameter batang, luas daun, umur panen, panjang tongkol, diameter tongkol, bobot tongkol kering panen, berat 1000 biji, dan bobot biji kering pipil per tanaman. Data hasil percobaan dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dengan taraf nyata 5%, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakter kuantitatif galur-galur S5 tanaman jagung di lahan kering memiliki variasi kategori nilai heritabilitas arti luas. Karakter yang memiliki heritabilitas kriteria tinggi yaitu berat 1000 biji; kriteria sedang yaitu tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, umur panen, diameter tongkol dan berat biji kering pipil; sedangkan kriteria rendah yaitu sudut daun, panjang tongkol dan bobot tongkol kering panen. Seluruh karakter kuantitatif yang diamati berkorelasi dengan hasil, kecuali diameter batang. Korelasi kuat terhadap hasil ditunjukkan yaitu pada karakter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, umur panen, diameter tongkol, dan bobot tongkol kering panen; korelasi sedang yaitu luas daun, panjang tongkol dan berat 1000 biji; sedangkan korelasi lemah yaitu sudut daun.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the genetic diversity, heritability, and correlation of quantitative traits of the fifth generation (S5) of selfing lines of maize plants. The experiment was conducted in the dry land of Gumantar village, North Lombok, from February to May 2025. The design used in this experiment was a randomized block design. The number of treatments was 30 S5 lines. Each treatment was repeatedThe experiment was conducted twice, resulting in 60 experimental units. Eleven quantitative characters were observed, consisting of growth variables, yield components, harvest age, and yield. The experimental data were analyzed using analysis of variance at a significance level of five percent. The correlation between characters and yield was calculated using Pearson rank correlation. The results showed that six quantitative characters of the S5 line had narrow genetic diversity and six characters had moderate criteria; with genetic diversity coefficients ranging from 1.56 for harvest age and 13.02 for yield. The broad-sense heritability of 1,000-grain weight was high, six characters were moderate, and the rest were narrow. The yield character was strongly correlated with the harvested dry cob weight per plant; with cob length being moderately correlated; four characters were weakly correlated, and the other characters were not correlated with yield. The plants selected to form the sixth selfing generation were taller plants with narrower leaf angles and flowering simultaneously

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keragaman genetik karakter kuantitatif galur S5 tanaman jagung di lahan kering. Selain itu, dikaji pula rata-rata karakter kuantitatif galur S5 dibanding populasi F2. Percobaan dilakukan di lahan kering dengan sumber air berupa sumur bor, dimulai bulan Februari hingga Juni 2025. Lokasi penelitian di dusun Amor-Amor, Desa Gumantar, kecamatan Kayangan, Lombok Utara. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok non faktorial dengan 16 genotipe yang terdiri atas 15 galur S5 dan satu populasi F2 sebagai pembanding. Setiap perlakuan diulang dua kali, sehingga diperoleh 32 unit percobaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa antar karakter kuantitatif yang diamati, memiliki keragaman genetik yang berbeda. Karakter bobot biji kering pipil per tanaman, memiliki keragaman genetik katagori sedang dengan nilai koefisien keragaman genetik sebesar 11,54 %; sedangkan karakter lain tergolong sempit. Hasil analisis ragam juga menunjukkan bahwa antar galur S5 dan populasi F2 hampir seluruh karakter sama, kecuali karakter bobot 1.000 butir biji yang menunjukkan perbedaan. Galur S5.7 memiliki bobot 1.000 butir biji sebesar 258,50 g lebih tinggi dibanding populasi F2 dengan bobot 1.000 butir biji sebesar 226,00 g. Dalam pelaksanaan selfing pada generasi selanjutnya, disarankan seleksi difokuskan pada karakter tinggi tanaman, karena lebih praktis dan lebih mudah diamati.

Karakter kuantitatif yang diamati meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, diameter batang, luas daun, sudut daun, umur panen, panjang tongkol, diameter tongkol, bobot biji kering pipil per tanaman dan bobot 1000 biji. Data hasil percobaan dianalisis menggunakan analisis sidik ragam dengan taraf nyata 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keragaman genetik antar karakter beragam. Nilai koefisien keragaman genetik seluruh karakter yang diamati tergolong sempit, kecuali karakter bobot biji kering pipil per tanaman tergolong sedang dengan nilai koefisien keragaman genetik sebesar 13,93%. Seluruh karakter kuantitatif galur S5 yang diamati menunjukkan heritabilitas arti luas yang berbeda. Karakter sudut daun memiliki heritabilitas kriteria tinggi sebesar 67,68 %. Karakter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot biji kering pipil per plot dan bobot 1.000 biji memiliki kriteria sedang (28,96% hingga 46,24%); sedangkan karakter diameter batang, luas daun, umur panen, panjang tongkol dan diameter tongkol memiliki heritabilitas rendah (2,68% hingga 14,73%). Karakter sudut daun, disarankan untuk digunakan sebagai kriteria dalam memilih tanaman untuk diselfing pada generasi berikutnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran gen serta pengaruh resiprokal pada karakter kuantitatif F1 hasil persilangan varietas IPB 3S dan padi beras merah lokal Beaq Ganggas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari hingga Juni 2025 di Narmada, Lombok Barat, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan (IPB 3S, Beaq Ganggas, F1 IPB 3S x Beaq Ganggas, dan F1 Resiprok) dengan 6 ulangan. Data dianalisis menggunakan perhitungan nisbah potensi (hp) untuk mengidentifikasi aksi gen, serta pengujian rerata karakter kuantitatif menggunakan uji-t untuk melihat adanya pengaruh efek maternal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakter kuantitatif yang diamati pada F1 IPB 3S x Beaq Ganggas dan resiproknya pada karakter tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun, jumlah anakan non produktif per rumpun, luas daun, panjang malai dan berat 100 butir dikendalikan oleh aksi gen dominan sebagian, karakter umur berbunga pada resiproknya dikendalikan oleh aksi gen dominan sempurna, karakter tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan non produktif per rumpun, luas daun, panjang malai, jumlah gabah berisi per malai, jumlah gabah hampa per malai, berat 100 butir, berat gabah per rumpun, umur berbunga dan umur panen dikendalikan oleh aksi gen overdominan, dan pada umur panen resiproknya tidak terdapat dominansi. Karakter tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan produktif per rumpun, panjang malai, jumlah gabah berisi per malai, berat 100 butir, berat gabah per rumpun dan umur berbunga menunjukkan adanya pengaruh tetua betina (maternal effect), sedangkan pada karakter jumlah anakan non produktif per rumpun, luas daun, dan jumlah gabah hampa per malai tidak menunjukkan adanya pengaruh tetua betina (maternal effect).
