Abstract

This study discusses the understanding of sacred worship that involves both heart and mind, highlighting the fallacy of the view that true worship is only determined by liturgy. The author argues that finite humans cannot establish the qualifications of true worship to God, and to respond to this, the author analyzes Psalm 100:1-5 using qualitative research methods and the hermeneutics of Old Testament poetry. The five practical steps in the analysis, called the 5T formula, include finding parallelism, determining the poetic structure, tracing figurative language, reviewing the historical background, and finding theological themes. Through this study, the author aims to provide a more appropriate perspective on sacred worship that should involve both the heart and the mind. Looking at the context of Psalm 100:1-5 has given a clear picture of sacred worship, which includes: the right attitude of heart, the right action in worship, and the right reason for worship.

Abstract

Inti dari doktrin Kristen terletak pada keyakinan yang mendalam bahwa dalam penyaliban Yesus dari Nazaret, Sang Allah dan Sang Manusia bersinggungan dengan cara yang selamanya mengubah jalannya sejarah manusia. Namun dimensi dari korban Yesus Kristus dimaknai secara beragam dengan berbagai model, yang setidaknya menyentuh aspek soteriologis dan moralitas. Namun adakah dimensi lain yang digapai melalui pengorbanan Kristus? Artikel ini hendak menunjukkan kepada pembaca bahwa Ibrani 10 memperlihatkan jangkauan dimensi yang lebih luas dari korban Kristus. Melalui metode eksposisi yang ditunjang dengan studi literaur, diperoleh bahwa korban Kristus menyentuh lima dimensi, yakni: pertama, dimensi soteriologis, yakni korban Kristus berkuasa menghapuskan dosa (ay. 1-10); kedua, dimensi seremonial, yakni korban Kristus mengakhiri sistem korban Perjanjian Lama (ay. 11-18); ketiga, dimensi relasional, yakni korban Kristus membuka jalan bagi umat percaya kepada Allah (ay. 19-25); keempat, dimensi eskatologis, yakni korban Kristus mengingatkan penghakiman manusia (ay. 26-31); kelima, dimensi spiritual, yakni korban Kristus mendorong ketekunan di tengah derita (ay. 32-39).

Abstract

The word ‘meditate’ in Psalm 1:2b has various translations in ancient manuscripts, which are at least divided into two camps, namely manuscripts that support the translation ‘meditate’ including the Masoretic, Septuagint, Theodotion, Peshitta, Vulgate, and Targum and manuscripts that support the translation ‘speak aloud’ including Aquila, Symmachus, Quinta, Sexta, and Syro-Hexapla. The translation of ‘meditate’ relates to reading quietly and paying attention to the mind, while the translation of ‘speak aloud’ relates to reading out loud for others to hear. In turn, it appears that there are differences in motives between the two, namely the motives of contemplation and conservation. Based on a study using the textual criticism method, with consideration of consistency and context, it can be seen that the blessed according to Psalm 1:2b are those who like to contemplate the Law of the LORD. The contemplation activity is private, in the context of learning, with the practice of reading silently. The goal is to experience spiritual growth and knowledge.

Abstract

With rapid changes in society, the psychological problems experienced by modern society are becoming more and more serious, both quantitatively and qualitatively. This is also experienced by Christians. Counseling is needed as one way to deal with this psychological problem. There are at least three types of counseling approaches that Christians can choose, namely psychological counseling, christian counseling and biblical counseling. The main purpose of this study is to use the Systematic Literature Review and Bibliometric analysis to examine: 1) what uniqueness each counseling method has; 2) how it has developed; 3) whether there are blind spots that experts in each field cannot see through comparison. According to the research findings, each counseling technique has been developed through a similar process despite different perspectives. Although biblical counseling was designed later than other counseling techniques, all three techniques have passed the theoretical development stage and are currently undergoing clinical trials. It is hoped that an objective comparison of their effectiveness can be obtained.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the understanding of the Christian Student Family (KBMK) of Samarinda State Polytechnic regarding their identity as salt, light, and children of God. This identity is understood as a gift from the redemptive work of Christ that must be lived out in daily life. The approach used in this community service is an interactive lecture, which emphasises interaction and active participation from Christian students of Politeknik Negeri Samarinda. The results of this activity showed that the participants had a deep understanding of the importance of Christian identity, as well as a commitment to live out that identity in various aspects of life. The students expressed their willingness to maintain moral values as the salt of the earth, radiate the love of Christ as the light of the world, and reflect a God-centred life as children of God. In conclusion, the seminar succeeded in strengthening the awareness of Christian identity and motivating the participants to live a life in accordance with their calling in Christ. Keywords:  Christian identity; samarinda state polytechnic; salt and light; calling Abstrak Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat pemahaman Keluarga Besar Mahasiswa Kristen (KBMK) Politeknik Negeri Samarinda mengenai identitas mereka sebagai garam, terang, dan anak-anak Allah. Identitas ini dipahami sebagai anugerah dari karya penebusan Kristus yang harus dihidupi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini adalah ceramah interaktif, yang menekankan pada interaksi dan partisipasi aktif dari mahasiswa Kristen Politeknik Negeri Samarinda. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa para peserta memiliki pemahaman yang mendalam tentang pentingnya identitas Kristen, serta komitmen untuk menghidupi identitas tersebut dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Para mahasiswa menyatakan kesediaan untuk menjaga nilai moral sebagai garam dunia, memancarkan kasih Kristus sebagai terang dunia, dan mencerminkan kehidupan yang berpusat pada Tuhan sebagai anak-anak Allah. Kesimpulannya, seminar ini berhasil memperkuat kesadaran akan identitas Kristen dan memotivasi peserta untuk menjalani hidup yang sesuai dengan panggilan mereka dalam Kristus.
