Abstract

Air quality in DKI Jakarta is currently trending. On August 10, 2023, Jakarta was ranked as the city with the worst air quality in the world. This condition causes a lot of anxiety among the public and disrupts health. Therefore, people in the capital city are asking the government to act quickly and precisely to overcome the problem of poor air quality. The response given by the government to deal with air pollution in DKI Jakarta is to provide several policies. Starting from August 11 until the end of August 2023, the government will issue up to 7 policies that are expected to overcome the pollution problem in the capital city. This research wants to see whether there is a difference in air quality in DKI Jakarta before and after the follow-up provided by the government. Daily recorded air quality index data is taken from a database, namely AQAIR. The data obtained was analyzed using the Mann-Whitney Test to see whether there were differences before and after the government issued the policy. After analyzing the data, the results showed that there was not sufficient evidence to state that there were significant differences related to air quality in DKI Jakarta before and after the policy issued by the government. Based on this, it seems that the policies issued by the government to overcome pollution are still not enough or not appropriate. Therefore, other alternative solutions are needed so that air quality problems can be resolved as soon as possible.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) is an indicator to measure success in improving the quality of human life. The utilization of HDI indicators can be used to classify observations into clusters based on several aspects, such as health, education, and economy. The results of the clusters can be used as a reference for evaluating government policies. This study uses HDI indicator data in the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, which consists: Life Expectancy, Average Years of Schooling, Expected Years of Schooling, and Per Capita Expenditure. The outliers were detected in each variable. Therefore the k-medoids clustering method was used in this study because of their robustness on outliers. The clustering results show that there are 4 clusters formed, with each cluster describing a unique character. Cluster 1 describes the condition of the districts in general. Cluster 2 describes the condition of the districts that are one step ahead of others, which are expected to transform into cities in the future. Cluster 3 describes the condition of the district that needs more attention from the government in all sectors because all the HDI indicators are on the lowest value comparing to the other clusters. On the other hand, cluster 4 describes urban areas which have more developed than other areas, in terms of health, education, and economy. The clustering results can be used as a suggestion for evaluating government policies that have been implemented, in order to create structured equitable development based on data and regional characteristics as well.

This study uses a qualitative research design with the intention of understanding and delving deeper into the Implementation of Waste Management Policy in Cipondoh, Tangerang City. The data collection technique in this study uses primary sources and secondary sources. The tools used for data collection consist of: interview guides. The results of the research on the implementation of the waste bank management policy in Cipondoh District, Tangerang City, which was analyzed using the policy implementation theory of George C. Edward III, showed that the implementation of the policy has shown significant efforts, but still faces various challenges in each of the main variables. Overall, the implementation of the waste bank management policy in Cipondoh District still requires strengthening in terms of public communication, human resource capacity, implementation incentives, and bureaucratic consistency. A more inclusive participatory approach and adaptive technical policies are needed to increase the effectiveness of community-based waste management through waste banks. With the strengthening of the four Edward III variables, it is hoped that the waste management policy can run more optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

The Gerbang Mapan program has been quite successful in its development, especially in the infrastructure sector, as its development has been evenly distributed due to its focus on planning. However, there are still many issues that have not been resolved. As a result of these issues, the Gerbang Mapan programme has not yet shown improvement in two main aspects, namely the economy and community empowerment. This study aims to determine the implementation level of the Gerbang Mapan programmeme, community income, and the programmeme’s impact on community income in Ketapang Village, Mauk Sub-district, Tangerang Regency. The research method used is quantitative. The sample consists of 98 respondents, with a purposive sampling technique employed. Data analysis in this study uses simple regression analysis with SPSS 26 software. The implementation of the Gerbang Mapan programme and community income in Ketapang Village, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency, are categorised as “very good,” with percentages of 83% and 75%, respectively. Based on the t-test, the calculated t-value is 3.618 with significance 0.000 < 0.05. This indicates a significant influence between the implementation of the Gerbang Mapan Programme and community income. The magnitude of the influence of the Gerbang Mapan Programme on community income in Ketapang Village, Mauk Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, was found to be 12%, while the remaining 88% was influenced by factors outside the variables studied. It is recommended that the Tangerang Regency Government review and improve the implementation of the Gerbang Mapan Programme, particularly regarding funding and village management. To ensure the programme provides long-term economic benefits for coastal communities, funds must be distributed more effectively and sustainably.
