Abstract

This study aims to determine the variables that influence consumer behavior in purchasing decisions in buying bananas at Toko Tani Indonesia Center Pasar Minggu. This study was conducted from October 2021 to June 2022.  The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling, with the number of respondents as many as 40. The independent variables in this study suffered from a multicollinearity problem. One method to overcome this is applying the regression of Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO).  LASSO regression can solve the problem of multicollinearity by shrinking the estimated coefficients towards zero or setting them to exactly zero so that LASSO regression can select variables in the regression model. The result of the LASSO analysis, variables that had a significant influence on consumers' decision to buy bananas were physiological factors, i.e., motivation, perception, knowledge, belief, and attitude.

Abstract

Community service is a fundamental pillar of higher education aimed at transforming academic research into practical solutions for societal empowerment. This community service program focuses on the KWT Bunga Telang in Tegal Ratu Village, Cilegon, which faces significant hurdles in digital transformation despite having high-potential herbal products. Using a participatory approach, this program implemented a comprehensive strategy involving upstream production standardization, visual branding restructuring, and downstream digital marketing optimization. The concrete outputs of this program include standardized professional packaging designs, a curated digital product catalog, and a verified e-commerce presence on the Shopee platform. Results from pre-test and post-test evaluations indicated a significant increase in the partners' cognitive and practical mastery, rising from an average of 42% to 88%, with a mean difference of 46%. This intervention effectively shifted the group’s operations from traditional, limited local sales to a broader digital market reach, lowering psychological barriers toward technology adoption and establishing a robust digital presence for local herbal products. The synergy between academia and local stakeholders proved essential in accelerating economic independence for women-led micro-enterprises.

Abstract

Nickel Pig Iron (NPI) is one of the main products of Indonesia's nickel-based industry, which is still expanding. Reducing production costs and guaranteeing product quality depends on maintaining a constant nickel content. The Median Absolute Deviation (MAD) estimator, which is resistant to outliers and non-normal distributions, is used in this study's control charts and process capability analysis. After 15 days of production, data was gathered and examined using capability indices and control charts based on MAD. According to the results, the process mean is not statistically in control since many points exceed the control borders, even while process variation stays within the control limits. Acceptable process precision was indicated by the process capability index CpMAD being above 1. However, the CpkMAD value below 1 suggests that the mean process output does not consistently meet the target specifications. These findings highlight the need for further investigation and process improvement to enhance quality consistency in NPI production.

Abstract

The Open Unemployment Rate is a key indicator in measuring labor market imbalances, reflecting the economic dynamics of a region. Banten Province has consistently ranked among the top three provinces with the highest Open Unemployment Rate in Indonesia over the past decade, indicating structural challenges in employment. To address this issue, a forecasting model is needed to provide accurate predictions that support more effective labor policy planning. This study uses the Prophet method, an additive regression approach developed by Facebook, to forecast the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten Province over the next 10 semesters (February 2025-August 2029). The data used is sourced from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) for the period 2005-2024, collected every semester (February and August). The model's performance is evaluated using the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) as the primary evaluation metric. The results show that the Prophet model effectively captures trend and seasonal patterns. With a MAPE value of 5.3910%, the model demonstrates very good accuracy (MAPE < 10%), making it suitable for medium-term forecasting. The predictions indicate a downward trend in the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten over the next five years. The conclusion of this study suggests that the Prophet model can be a reliable tool for projecting the Open Unemployment Rate and supporting labor policy planning in Banten. Future research is expected to incorporate external factors or use hybrid modeling approaches to improve prediction accuracy.

Abstract

Micro and Small Industries (MSEs) serve as the backbone of the regional economy in Java, Indonesia, characterized by high volatility and potential spatial interdependencies. While advanced spatio-temporal models like GSTARIMA are theoretically superior in capturing inter-regional spillover effects, their empirical effectiveness on limited annual aggregate data remains questionable. This study evaluates the forecasting performance of the univariate ARIMA model against the multivariate GSTARIMA model for predicting the number of MSE business units across six provinces in Java from 2013 to 2024. Using a Queen Contiguity spatial weight matrix and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) as the evaluation metric, the study rigorously tests the Principle of Parsimony. Preliminary analysis using Moran’s I indicates non-significant spatial autocorrelation, suggesting that business growth is predominantly driven by internal temporal inertia rather than immediate spatial propagation. Consequently, the results demonstrate that the simpler ARIMA model outperforms the complex GSTARIMA model in 10 out of 12 testing scenarios (83.3%), with accuracy improvements reaching up to 94% in specific provinces. The study concludes that adding spatial complexity to short-term annual time series (N=12) leads to over-fitting without proportional gains in accuracy. The ARIMA-based forecast for 2025–2029 identifies three distinct regional growth typologies: expansive growth, market saturation, and structural correction, providing critical insights for differentiated regional policy planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and predict the trend of Indonesia's non-oil and gas exports using the Facebook Prophet model, focusing on identifying seasonal patterns, trends, and volatility present in the export data. Monthly export data from 2015 to 2025, sourced from the Statistics Indonesia (BPS), were used as the basis for analysis. The dataset revealed notable seasonal patterns and substantial volatility, particularly in the period following 2020. To model these dynamics, three Prophet model configurations were tested: one considering only annual seasonality, combining both annual and monthly seasonality, and another incorporating only monthly seasonality. The evaluation of these models showed with an initial Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 8.70%. This model was then optimized through hyperparameter tuning. The optimal parameter configuration (changepoint_prior_scale = 0.5, seasonality_prior_scale = 0.01, fourier_order = 3) resulted in a significant improvement, reducing the MAPE to 4.73%. This optimized model demonstrated its capacity to more precisely capture the complex patterns. Furthermore, the study projected Indonesia’s non-oil and gas exports for the period from April 2025 to December 2026. The projections indicate a relatively stable export trend within the range of 20,000 to 22,000 million USD per month, with consistent seasonal patterns.

Abstract

This study models the health service queue system at the Integrated Health Service Post (Posyandu) in Cilegon City, Banten, using the Petri Net and Max-Plus Algebra approaches to analyze the flow of participant arrivals and completion times. The data used are observational data from Posyandu activities simulated through a discrete event model, which includes several types of participants, namely: babies not standing yet, babies standing, pregnant mothers, and family planning programs. Petri Net modeling is used to represent the relationship between service transitions, while Max-Plus Algebra is used to calculate the process cycle time based on the critical path. The results of the study showed that the categories of non-standing babies, standing babies, and pregnant women/participants in the family planning program had identical service time patterns, namely a total duration of 17 minutes 19 seconds, with the main stages including measurement, midwife intervention, and provision of additional food. Max-Plus analysis confirms that the measurement and midwife intervention stages are the critical path that determines the length of service time. This study concludes that the combination of Petri Net and Max-Plus Algebra is effective in describing the dynamics of Posyandu queues and is able to provide quantitative information needed to identify bottleneck points and the basis for improving the service flow.
