Abstract

This study aims to determine the variables that influence consumer behavior in purchasing decisions in buying bananas at Toko Tani Indonesia Center Pasar Minggu. This study was conducted from October 2021 to June 2022.  The sampling technique used in this study was accidental sampling, with the number of respondents as many as 40. The independent variables in this study suffered from a multicollinearity problem. One method to overcome this is applying the regression of Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO).  LASSO regression can solve the problem of multicollinearity by shrinking the estimated coefficients towards zero or setting them to exactly zero so that LASSO regression can select variables in the regression model. The result of the LASSO analysis, variables that had a significant influence on consumers' decision to buy bananas were physiological factors, i.e., motivation, perception, knowledge, belief, and attitude.

Abstract

Household organic waste management remains a primary challenge in urban areas and industrial buffer zones, including Randakari Village, Ciwandan District, Cilegon City. The accumulation of food scraps and inadequate waste management facilities often trigger the emergence of disease vectors and unpleasant odors in residential areas. This community service program aims to reduce the volume of organic waste while creating economic value through the introduction of appropriate technology, specifically an organic waste shredder. The implementation method consisted of socialization, technology design, direct training (machine operation demonstration), and evaluation involving university students, village officials, and local residents over a one-month period. Results indicate that this low-power machine (200 Watts) effectively broke the waste accumulation chain with an optimal capacity of 5 kilograms per cycle. The shredded waste was subsequently converted into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) using a layering system inside used water gallons, enriched with rice-washing water. This process yielded an average of 700 mL to 1 liter of LOF per cycle. The program's implementation has gradually reduced local waste volumes while simultaneously enhancing the ecological awareness and technical skills of the residents. For long-term sustainability, the community is now capable of operating the equipment independently and replicating the fertilizer production, which opens up future commercialization opportunities for processed waste products.

Abstract

The majority of the community in Kubangsari Village, Cilegon City, are farmers and factory workers, with approximately 20% of the population directly dependent on the corn farming sector. Traditionally, corn harvests have been sold raw at prices around IDR 8,000, leaving farmers vulnerable to economic fluctuations, particularly during the rainy season when fields are prone to flooding. This community service program aims to empower the Kubang Lestari Women Farmers Group (KWT) through the innovation of processing purple corn into a functional health beverage named JAJANTAN (Jahe Jagung Anti Oksidan/Ginger Corn Antioxidant). The implementation method spanned one month, involving field surveys, direct production workshops, and assistance in packaging and halal certification. The results demonstrated a significant increase in the added value of agricultural commodities; raw corn was transformed into a ready-to-sell bottled beverage priced at IDR 10,000 per unit, with a production cost of IDR 7,000. This mentorship has successfully increased public knowledge regarding food product diversification and opened opportunities for the development of local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with full support from the local village government.

Abstract

Poverty remains a critical socio-economic issue in Central Java, Indonesia, exhibiting significant regional disparities. This study aims to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of poverty rates in Central Java in 2024 using a spatial autocorrelation approach with an inverse distance weight matrix. Secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Central Java is utilized, covering poverty percentages across regencies and cities. The analysis method involves Moran’s I to assess global spatial autocorrelation and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA) to identify local spatial clusters. The findings indicate a positive Moran’s I value, suggesting a significant spatial dependence in poverty distribution. Several high-poverty clusters are identified in specific regions, confirming spatial concentration patterns. The study highlights that regional proximity influences poverty rates, where areas with high poverty tend to be surrounded by regions with similar conditions. These results provide empirical evidence for policymakers to design targeted poverty alleviation programs based on spatial characteristics. The study concludes that understanding spatial autocorrelation in poverty distribution is crucial for formulating effective regional development policies and reducing socio-economic disparities.

Abstract

Sales activities have an important role in business sustainability, especially in the food and beverage sector, where understanding consumer purchasing behavior and effective inventory management are crucial. This research aims to analyze student purchasing patterns in the canteen of the Faculty of Engineering, Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University using the Market Basket Analysis method based on the Apriori algorithm. The data used is primary transaction data using a purposive sampling technique of 322 valid transactions. Analysis was carried out using association rule mining with minimum support and confidence parameters to identify relationships between items. The results show that the strongest association rule involves the combination of lime leaf rice, jumbo iced tea, and grilled chicken with a support value of 0.047, confidence 0.75, and lift 2.95. Apart from that, the rule also found was lime leaf rice grilled chicken with support 0.096, confidence 0.66, and lift 2.59. Several other rules have high confidence but low lift due to the dominance of white rice items. These findings indicate that students tend to buy a combination of main food, side dishes and drinks in one transaction. The Apriori algorithm has been proven to be able to identify significant purchasing patterns and can support product structuring, promotion and inventory management strategies.

Abstract

HIV/AIDS remains a critical global health issue that requires a multidisciplinary approach to reduce its transmission. Understanding the transmission dynamics through mathematical models can assist in formulating effective intervention strategies. This study aims to analyze the stability of HIV/AIDS transmission model in Cilegon City using five compartments, namely Susceptible, Educated, Infected, Treatment, and AIDS or SEITA-type model. Subsequently, the basic reproductive ratio (R0) is estimated by constructing the Next Generation Matrix (NGM) and the dynamic simulation of the model is carried out using parameters calibrated based on HIV/AIDS data from Cilegon City. The Analysis of stability equilibrium points show that the disease-free equilibrium point is locally asymptotically stable when R0<1 and when R0>1 then endemic equilibrium point is locally asymptotically stable. Furthermore, the numeric simulation results indicate that the increasing parameter transition rate from the susceptible subpopulation to the educated subpopulation, the ARV treatment rate applied to the infected subpopulation and decreasing parameter transition rate from the educated subpopulation to the susceptible subpopulation, could suppress the basic reproduction number, thereby enabling effective control of the HIV/AIDS spread in Cilegon City.
