Abstract

This paper distinguishes first of all between Islam as a system of value—transcendental Islam that is—and Islam as socio-cultural phenomenon—sociological Islam that is. The former is about religion as a given system of belief, while the latter is about religious way of life. While touching briefly on the former, the paper will focus a great deal on the latter. It will focus as such on the “constructed Islam” by the Javanese Muslim santris. Employing the social constructive theory, the paper assumes that these santris are active agents in building their own religiosity through what may be called a dialectical moment. Hence, the paper refuses the commonly believed understanding that social facts are completely outside individual awareness in the process of religious construction. By this, the paper attempts to show that Javanese Islam—sociologically speaking—is none other than the product of santri’s cultural and social upbringing.

Abstract

This article seeks to reveal Kiai Muchith Muzadi?s thought on the Islamic nationalism in Indonesia. It deals with a number of issues such as state form, the meaning of politics within nation-state life, and the relation of Islam and Pancasila. The article also attempts to answer problematic discourse on contemporary Islam which, within recent decades, (re)rises the principles of nationalism into public discussion. Muchith argues that Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI/The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia) has been an ultimate state form for the Indonesian people. Therefore, this is a duty for the Indonesian Muslims, as Indonesia?s majority inhabitant, to actively take a role and involve themselves in guarding Indonesia and its unity. Muchith also sees no relevant necessary to replace the state form with other systems such as khil?fah and Islamic state. To him, politics is a mere means to fight for interests carried out with Islamic principles coupled with nationalism values in order to establish national integration and achieve the shared ideals. Muchith maintains that Pancasila along with its values is compatible with Islam and this is why the Indonesian Muslims should accept it as the state ideology.

Abstract

The current radicalism movement has occurred in Indonesia. The emergence of this radical concept was caused by the existence of a group of Muslims who wants to purify religious teachings during the pre-independence period until now. In Bondowoso, this concept enters through children in elementary school (SD). from that incident, the two Islamic Community Organizations (Ormas) in Bondowoso; Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah opposed, rejected the existence of this concept. This research is descriptive qualitative based on case studies using the method of selecting subjects and data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the preaching strategies of Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah in counteracting radicalism in Bondowoso Regency are (1) both Nahdlatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah provide the understanding to all administrators related to radicalism. (2) Nahdlatul Ulama invites all components to be aware of radicalism movements at all levels, while Muhammadiyah through social media. (3) Nahdlatul Ulama held a Cadre Education for the Movement of Nahdlatul Ulama (PKPNU) and Muhammadiyah held regular studies. (4) Nahdlatul Ulama conducts Da'wah Cadre Training (PKD), Pancasila cadre training and Muhammadiyah conducts social da'wah. (5) Nahdlatul Ulama conducts recitation, seminars and Muhammadiyah through Friday sermons.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Agama Islam yang cukup tua di Indonesia. Sejak zaman penjajahan, pesantren mempunyai andil besar dalam memajukan negara Indonesia. Pada dasarnya pesantren mengajarkan ilmu agama islam yang bisa diterapkan langsung dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa dan bernegara. Seiring dengan perkembangan dunia pendidikan yang semakin kontemporer, pesantren mengalami pasang surut dalam mengembangkan dan bersaing dengan lembaga pendidikan formal. pesantren dituntut mempunyai metode dalam proses pengajarannya sebagai upaya berdakwah yang transformatif. agar jati diri pesantren dalam menegakkan Islam di tengah-tengah kehidupan sosial dengan selalu mempertimbangkan kondisi sosial dan budaya masyarakat.Oleh karena itu, pesantren harus mampu memainkan peran dalam masyarakat. Diantaranya ialah memberdayaan ekonomi masyarakat sipil yang tengah dihimpit oleh kapitalisme global, mengembangkan sikap toleran dan terbuka, melarang setiap bentuk kekerasan yang diusung ideologi Islam radikal yang berwatak keras dan eksklusif, serta memperjuangkan terwujudnya identitas gender yang penuh dengan semangat kesetaraan dan berkeadilan.

Abstract

Dakwah merupakan upaya atau usaha seseorang untuk mengajak orang lain dalam amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, agar mendapat kebahagiaan di dunia dan di akhirat. Tujuan dakwah adalah untuk membentuk pribadi yang lebih baik dan memiliki iman yang kuat, memahami syariat agama Islam serta mengimplementasikan dalam kehidupan sehati-hari. Untuk mengidentifikasi masalah tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) strategi yang digunakan Ustadz Achmad Nasiruddin Arif dalam berdakwah meliputi : a) memahami khalayak yaitu seorang da’i melihat terlebih dahulu latar belakang kehidupan mad’u. b) merencanakan pesan, yaitu pesan yang disampaikan da’i sesuai dengan pemahaman mad’u mengenai agama Islam. c) menetapkan metode, dan metode yang digunakan adalah dakwah Bil Hal (dakwah melalui tindakan), Bil Lisan (dakwah melalui ucapan), dialog interaktif, diskusi atau kajian. 2) Faktor Pendukung dan Penghambat Aktivitas Dakwah Ustadz Achmad Nasiruddin Arif adalah a) faktor pendukung: penampilan da’i yang menyesuaikan anak muda, terlaksananya kegiatan-kegiatan dalam Thoriqoh. b) faktor penghambat: kurangnya sosialisasi dan dengan masyarakat sekitar, belum ada pondok pesantren untuk para jamaah. 3) ajaran Thoriqoh Naqsyabandiyah Kholidiyah Mujaddidiyah, yang di ajarkan thoriqon ini adalah suluk, Ilmu Tasawuf, Ilmu Tauhid, dan Ilmu Fiqih.

Abstract

The development of scientific progress is a necessity, this includes all sciences, both politics, economics, natural sciences, and so on, including Islamic education which is also experiencing very rapid development. This includes being influenced by the development of the philosophy of science, there are at least 4 phases in the philosophy of the development of science, namely: the initial phase to the renaissance, then the positivism phase, the modern phase to the contemporary phase. Likewise, Islamic studies also experienced developments starting from the classical, modern and contemporary periods, and in this contemporary period it was divided into 5 trends, namely: fundamentalist, traditional, reformistic, posttraditionalistic and modernistic. The development of Islamic science is at least influenced by 3 reasons: to meet the material and spiritual needs of Muslims need Islamic science, the burial of metaphysical aspects, or aspects that cannot be measured in the lab by western science and the need for Islamic science by Muslims who are in an area where . the development of contemporary science with a culture that is not the same as the west. And to answer and resolve all the problems above, it is necessary to present a philosophy of science in the development of Islamic science (Islamic studies). The purpose of this research is to briefly discuss the contribution of the philosophy of science to the growth of Islamic studies. The research method used is a qualitative approach, using data analysis using data reduction, presenting data, drawing conclusions. Alltypes of knowledge that humans need as servants of God are the creation of laws that are permissible and must. The scientist does not limit himself to his own field of study but on the contrary he must look to fields which are close to developing a science whose impact does not prohibit greed of material possessions but on realist, ethical, harmonious, and religious presuppositions. However, the author appreciates the approach that claims that knowing alittle (particular) is better than knowing a little (general) things.Keywords: Philosophy of Science, Development, Islamic Studies

Abstract

Az-Zahra Foundation (Rumah Kita) is a religious social institution, as a forum for students or foster children to gain socio-religious knowledge located in Griya Mangli Indah Housing Jember. Research focus 1) What are the goals to be achieved in preaching? 2) What are the strategies used to achieve the goals of da'wah? 3) What are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in delivering da'wah? This study uses a qualitative approach, data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used descriptive qualitative. The results of the study are so that children do not drop out of school, get a proper education, both formal and religious, and get the love of their parents that they should get. The strategy to achieve the goal of preaching is by giving the name (Rumah Kita) so that students are free and not awkward in carrying out all activities at the Foundation because it is like their own home, providing proper formal education and non-formal education to students, providing tutoring facilities to students so that they can support their formal learning at school, provide teaching aids about religious activities, computer laboratory as a learning tool for millennial-era students, practice the knowledge they have acquired. Santri can apply it in daily life in the long term. Supporting and inhibiting factors are the established rules, methods, strategies, media and means to facilitate the delivery of da'wah. The inhibiting factors are the different personalities and backgrounds of students, the delivery of da'wah is not understood, the use of time is not conducive and students are naughty.

Abstract

In the current era, many young people have lost their way, so they need to be invited and embraced to return to the right path by means of da'wah. Example da'wah with actions such as alms is one carried out by the Jember Sharing Berkah Bersama Foundation. The focus the problem: 1) What is the missionary strategy of the Jember Foundation to Share Blessings Together in the Jember area? 2) How is the implementation the missionary program the Jember Sharing Blessings Foundation in the Jember area?. The research objectives: 1) to describe missionary strategy the Jember Sharing Berkah Bersama Foundation in the Jember area. 2) to describe the implementation missionary program Jember Sharing Blessings Together Foundation in the Jember area. The researcher: descriptive qualitative research. Data collection: interviews, documentation, observation. Data analysis: data collection, data condensation, data presentation, conclusion. This Concluded: 1) The Da'wah Strategy of the Jember Foundation for Sharing Blessings Together in the Jember area, namely: a. Managing activities in the social, humanitarian and religious fields through Friday sharing preaching programs, caring for orphanages, caring for pedicab drivers, road repairs, taklim assemblies, 7 boxes mineral water for bereaved families and free rice. b. Helping the Economy of Underprivileged Communities through Friday sharing preaching programs, caring for orphanages, caring for pedicab drivers, productive waqf. c. Empowerment and Potential Development through productive waqf da'wah programs. 2) The implementation program Jember Sharing Blessings Together Foundation in Jember area is divided into three, namely Friday sharing, caring for orphanages and productive waqf.
