Abstract

This research examines the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on efforts to resolve the humanitarian crisis. His focus includes Russia's use of the veto in the UN Security Council, the humanitarian impact, and the role of the UN. Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea was the start of the conflict, with Russia's veto hampering the UN response. Conflicts that result in humanitarian crises, massive displacement, human rights violations and loss of life. This research also explores the UN's role in mediation, dealing with political obstacles and tensions on the ground. Through analysis of previous literature and research, this research seeks a deeper understanding of the dynamics of this conflict and the role of international institutions in overcoming the crisis. Its findings illustrate that Russia's veto hinders decisive action by the UN, while the humanitarian crisis and political tensions complicate the UN's mediation role. This research contributes to understanding the impact of international conflict and the challenges international institutions face in maintaining peace and dealing with humanitarian crises.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of judges’ considerations in delivering verdicts in cases of domestic violence, using a case study of decision number 1076/Pid.B/2025/PN Lbp at the Lubuk Pakam District Court. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach through direct courtroom observation, documentation, and literature review. The findings reveal that the judge’s considerations encompassed juridical, sociological, and psychological aspects in a balanced manner. The judgment was based not only on legal evidence but also on the social context of the family relationship between the defendant and the victim. The four-month imprisonment sentence demonstrates an attempt to balance legal certainty, substantive justice, and humanity. This study emphasizes the importance of judges’ sensitivity to social dimensions in family violence cases so that verdicts serve not only as punitive measures but also as restorative and educational acts of justice.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) policy at the UPT SMP Negeri 6 Medan for Grade IX in 2025 and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation based on aspects of communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucratic structure. The research is motivated by the implementation of the program that has been running, but has not been optimal in achieving policy objectives, especially in shaping students' nutritional awareness and behavior. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Informants were determined through purposive sampling techniques, consisting of the principal, implementing teachers, program coordinators, and grade IX students. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the MBG Program has been running administratively and technically, but has not been fully optimal. Communication between implementers is running quite well, but educational communication to students is still not optimal. The availability of resources is quite supportive, although its utilization is not optimal, including limited facilities such as cutlery. From the disposition aspect, implementers show commitment, but student participation and discipline are still low. The bureaucratic structure is in place, but it is not yet supported by standardized SOPs. Furthermore, there has been an expansion of beneficiary coverage to teachers as a means of adjusting implementation. The main inhibiting factors include a lack of nutrition education and suboptimal student behavior. Therefore, improvements are needed through strengthening educational communication, optimizing resources, and fostering student behavior to more effectively achieve program objectives.
