Abstract

Sectio Caesarea (SC) surgical patients are given prophylactic antibiotics to prevent surgical wound infections (SWIs). This study aimed to determine the pattern of use of prophylactic antibiotics in SC surgical patients at Budhi Asih Hospital. This research used a descriptive research type with a cross sectional approach. Number of samples 201 medical records with retrospective data collection. The patient inclusion criteria used were patients delivered by Sectio Caesarea and the patients who had a complete medical record. The results showed that the characteristics of Sectio Caesarea surgical patients at were based on age ≤ 20 years were 14 people (7%), were based on age of 21–34 years there were 133 people (66.2%), and were based on age ≥ 35 years old as much as 54 peoples (26.9%). Based on parity 1-2 people as 114 peoples (56.7%) and parity ≥ 3 people as 87 peoples (43.3%). Based on the history of SC 1-2 times as many as 193 people (96%) and ≥ 3 times as many as 8 people (4%). Based on the prescription pattern using ceftriaxone as many as 200 people (99.5%) and those using amoxicilin as many as 1 person (0.5%). Based on the route of prophylactic antibiotics intravenously, it was 200 people (99.5%) and orally 1 person (0.5%). Based on the time and frequency of prophylactic antibiotics, 201 people (100%) were given. Based on the duration of antibiotics, 201 people (100%) were not added prophylactic antibiotics. Based on the duration of surgery ≤ 60 minutes is 201 people (100%). Based on the Surgical Site Infection(SSI), those who experienced the SSI were 2 people (1%) and those who did not experience the SSI were 199 people (99%). The prophylactic antibiotics used were ceftriaxone with a dose of 1-2 grams/day, the time for drug administration was appropriate 30-60 minutes before surgery, appropriate antibiotics were given intravenously.

Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Inappropriate use of antituberculosis drugs can cause failure to achieve therapeutic effectiveness, recurrence, and resistance to antituberculosis drugs. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis patients, describe the use of pulmonary antituberculosis drugs, and evaluate the use of pulmonary antituberculosis drugs at the Simpur Inpatient Health Center, Bandar Lampung City, in 2021. This type of research was a descriptive observational cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out retrospectively. The sampling technique used total sampling, with a total of 64 samples. The research instrument used was the medical records of pulmonary tuberculosis patients from January to December 2021. The results obtained were 38 male pulmonary tuberculosis patients (59.38%), an age range of 17–44 years (adults) for 34 patients (53.13%), type of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in new cases for 60 patients (93.75%), sputum examination results for AFB+ in 38 patients (59.38%), and category I treatment for 60 patients (93.75%). Evaluation of the use of pulmonary antituberculosis drugs obtained the results of the excellent indication (100%) and the right patient (100%), the proper drug selection (100%), the correct dose (95.31%), and the right time of drug administration (98.44%).

Abstract

Background: Jamu is an ancestral heritage of the Indonesian people that has important health benefit. Kunyit Asam (turmeric and tamarind) and Beras Kencur (rice and aromatic ginger) are two types of jamu that can help maintain and improve the health of adolescent students. This community service activity aims to help the students of SMK Harapan Massa understand how to make turmeric-tamarind and rice-kencur instant herbal drinks, as well as to grasp their uses and benefits. Method: Fifty-eight respondents participated in a training session focused on making instant kunyit asam and beras kencur. The questionnaire is used as a benchmark to measure the knowledge level of the students at SMK Harapan Massa. Results: There was an increase in questionnaire scores, indicating an improvement in the knowledge of respondents who completed both the pre-test and post-test, such as 87% (pre-test) menjadi 90% (post-test). Conclusions: The jamu workshop had enhance the students' knowledge and understanding of the benefits, preparation, production, and safe consumption methods of jamu.
