Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of entrepreneurial competence and succession planning on the sustainability of family-owned MSMEs, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected through structured questionnaires distributed to 50 family business owners in Rempoa, South Tangerang. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the SmartPLS tool. The results show that both entrepreneurial competence and succession planning have a positive and significant effect on business sustainability, both directly and indirectly through organizational commitment. Organizational commitment plays a key mediating role, bridging internal capabilities and strategic succession with long-term business continuity. The findings highlight the importance of strengthening internal organizational aspects, such as loyalty and shared responsibility, to ensure intergenerational sustainability of family MSMEs. This research provides theoretical insights and practical recommendations for MSME actors and policymakers in designing training and succession planning programs.

Abstract

Perusahaan startup memiliki lingkungan kerja yang dinamis dan penuh tekanan, yang dapat mempengaruhi kesejahteraan serta kinerja karyawan. Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kinerja karyawan dalam lingkungan tersebut adalah kecerdasan emosional (KE). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara kecerdasan emosional dan kinerja karyawan di perusahaan startup dengan menggunakan metode studi literatur. Data diperoleh dari berbagai sumber ilmiah yang relevan dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kecerdasan emosional memiliki dampak positif terhadap kinerja karyawan, baik secara langsung maupun melalui faktor-faktor mediasi seperti stres kerja, motivasi, dan komunikasi interpersonal. Karyawan dengan KE yang tinggi cenderung lebih mampu mengelola emosi, beradaptasi dengan perubahan cepat, serta memiliki tingkat kepuasan kerja yang lebih baik. Selain itu, KE juga berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan efektivitas kerja tim dan membangun budaya kerja yang lebih positif di lingkungan startup. Studi ini menyoroti pentingnya pengembangan KE dalam strategi manajemen sumber daya manusia di perusahaan startup, yang dapat dilakukan melalui pelatihan dan pendekatan kepemimpinan yang mendukung kesejahteraan emosional karyawan. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan yang lebih dalam mengenai peran kecerdasan emosional dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tenaga kerja startup, sekaligus menjadi dasar bagi penelitian selanjutnya dalam konteks manajemen organisasi yang lebih luas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, paylater usage, and income on the consumptive behavior of Generation Z in Indonesia. The background of this research is based on the increasing use of digital financial services, particularly paylater, and the growing trend of consumptive lifestyles among Generation Z, who are exposed to the convenience of technology and have relatively low financial control. The research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive and causal analysis. The population in this study consists of Generation Z in Indonesia aged 18–27 years who have income and have used paylater services. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with the purposive sampling method, and the sample size was 100 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS version 26. The analysis included validity tests, reliability tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that financial literacy has a negative and significant effect on consumptive behavior, meaning that the higher the financial literacy, the lower the tendency to act consumptively. Conversely, paylater usage and income have a significant joint influence on Generation Z’s consumptive behavior.
