Abstract

Pendidikan karakter berkaitan dengan pengetahuan kebaikan yang harus diketahui serta dimiliki oleh seseorang. Pondok pesantren adalah salah satu lembaga pendidikan bagi siswa untuk belajar, mendalami agama Islam, dan membentuk moral serta akhlak yang baik. Maka, diperlukan penguatan pendidikan karakter sebagai upaya untuk menjadikan seseorang agar dapat memahami, memerhatikan, dan juga melakukan nilai-nilai etika yang baik. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi, ceramah, presentasi, dan diskusi melalui pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian di Pondok Pesantren Modern Darul Sholihin menunjukkan: siswa termotivasi untuk mendapatkan pengetahuan dan informasi tentang pendidikan karakter, guru dapat mengintegrasikan nilai pendidikan karakter ke dalam bahan ajar serta perangkat pembelajaran sehingga dapat diterapkan pada siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, dan implementasi penguatan pendidikan karakter pada siswa. Character education is related to the knowledge of goodness that must be known and owned by someone. Pondok Pesantren is one of the educational institutions for students to learn, explore the religion of Islam, and form morals and good morals. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen character education as an effort to make someone able to understand, pay attention, and also do good ethical values. The method used is observation, lectures, presentations, and discussions through Indonesian language learning. The results of the study in Pondok Pesantren Modern Darul Sholihin show: students are motivated to gain knowledge and information about character education, teachers can integrate the value of character education into teaching materials and learning tools so that they can be applied to students in the learning process, and the implementation of strengthening character education in students.

Abstract

This study develops and validates the Joyful Learning of Reading Scale (JLR), an instrument designed to measure the enjoyment, engagement, and intrinsic motivation of students in the context of reading English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The research utilizes a quantitative approach, with the scale being tested for its psychometric properties using Rasch Model analysis. A sample of 244 EFL students from Indonesian universities participated in the study, providing data on their experiences with reading activities. The results confirm that the JLR scale is both valid and reliable, as evidenced by a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.92 and a Person Separation reliability of 0.88. The scale effectively captures the emotional and cognitive dimensions of reading, showing that it can measure a range of student engagement and motivation levels. By using the JLR scale, educators can assess how well their teaching strategies promote Joyful Learning, helping to create more engaging and motivating learning environments. The study highlights the importance of fostering intrinsic motivation and enjoyment in reading, as these factors significantly contribute to improving students' reading comprehension and overall academic performance. The JLR scale, therefore, serves as an important tool for enhancing the quality of EFL education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan nilai moral yang terdapat dalam film "Hati Suhita" karya Archie Hekagery menggunakan metode kualitatif, yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman mendalam mengenai berbagai fenomena, fakta, dan realitas yang ada, termasuk budaya, sosial, perilaku, dan tindakan dalam konteks film tersebut. Penelitian ini menganalisis unsur-unsur nilai moral yang ada dalam karya sinematik Indonesia tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai moral kesetiaan tercatat dalam 5 data atau 20%, nilai moral keberanian mencapai 7 data atau 28%, nilai moral kesopanan juga mencatat 7 data atau 28%, dan nilai moral kebaikan teridentifikasi dalam 6 data atau 24%. Sedangkan, nilai moral keadilan tidak tercatat dalam data yang dianalisis.

Abstract

Dalam pembangunan infrastruktur jalan, peran Dinas Pekerjaan Umum (DPU) sangat penting. DPU bertanggung jawab atas perencanaan, pengembangan, dan pemeliharaan jalan untuk memastikan konektivitas yang lancar dan aman bagi masyarakat. Melalui kerja sama dengan pemerintah daerah dan lembaga terkait lainnya, DPU memastikan bahwa proyek-proyek infrastruktur jalan dilaksanakan dengan efisien dan memenuhi standar keamanan serta kelayakan teknis. Dengan demikian, DPU menjadi pilar utama dalam memfasilitasi pertumbuhan ekonomi dan sosial melalui pengembangan infrastruktur jalan yang berkualitas. Melalui  kegiatan  pengabdian  ini dimaksudkan  untuk  membantu  masalah  yang  dihadapi Dinas Pekerjaan Umum dalam pembangunan infrastruktur jalan dalam meningkatkan kesejahteraan Masyarakat.  Solusi yang ditawarkan oleh tim pengabdian adalah Lebih memprioritaskan Jalan yang lebih dilewati oleh Masyarakat, dan membatasi kendaraan yang membawa muatan yang berlebih yang akan menimbulkan kerusakan pada jalan, dan dengan saling bekerjasama antara Dinas Pekerjaan Umum, Dinas Perhubungan, dan Polisi.

Abstract

Abstrak: Sastra lisan, khususnya dalam genre puisi, memiliki peran penting dalam menjaga dan mewariskan nilai-nilai budaya masyarakat Lampung. Salah satu bentuknya adalah puisi “Tapis Berseri” yang sarat dengan pesan moral dan simbolik tentang kehidupan sosial budaya masyarakat Lampung. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana nilai-nilai simbolik budaya masyarakat Lampung direpresentasikan dalam puisi “T apis Berseri” serta makna yang terkandung di balik simbol-simbol budaya tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dan menganalisis nilai simbolik budaya yang termuat dalam puisi tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-analitis dengan pendekatan kualitatif, melalui analisis terhadap struktur teks dan nilai-nilai budaya yang dihadirkan dalam karya sastra tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi “Tapis Berseri” mengandung ajakan untuk melestarikan dan mengembangkan budaya Lampung melalui prinsip-prinsip seperti sakai sambayan (gotong royong), nemui nyimah (sopan santun), dan nengah nyappur (kerja keras dengan tenggang rasa). Selain itu, puisi ini juga mencerminkan keragaman masyarakat Lampung yang terdiri atas penduduk asli dan pendatang, serta menekankan pentingnya kerja sama antar lapisan masyarakat untuk mewujudkan cita-cita bersama dalam memajukan budaya.

Abstract

This training program aims to explore and provide guidance on community empowerment through music and language learning communities via informal learning media in Bandar Lampung. In the context of informal education, learning media plays a critical role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of community members without being bound by formal curricula. This empowerment program employs various interactive methods that integrate music and language as tools to enrich the learning process. By leveraging digital technology and group activities, the community is provided with access to diverse learning materials that can enhance their language skills and musical appreciation. The method used is a participatory approach, involving community members (students) in the planning and implementation of activities. The results indicate that the use of informal learning media, particularly through a group approach, is effective in fostering active participation and skill development among community members. Additionally, this approach has successfully strengthened social bonds and collaboration among community members. This study concludes that community empowerment through informal learning media is a promising strategy to optimize the learning process and enhance the quality of education outside formal institutions.

Abstract

Indonesian language proficiency among junior high school students is an essential component of academic development and effective communication; however, differences based on gender during early adolescence remain underexplored. This study aims to describe Indonesian language proficiency levels of junior high school students in Lampung Province based on gender using data from the Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (UKBI). A quantitative descriptive research design was employed, utilizing secondary data from 8,204 UKBI participants, consisting of 3,192 male students (38.91%) and 5,012 female students (61.09%). Language proficiency was measured through three UKBI sections: listening, responding to grammatical rules, and reading comprehension, with the final score obtained from the average of these sections. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, including mean scores and standard deviation, to examine proficiency levels and score distributions by gender. The findings reveal that the overall Indonesian language proficiency of junior high school students in Lampung Province is at a moderate level. Female students consistently achieved higher average scores than male students across all sections. Reading comprehension emerged as the strongest skill area, while listening showed the lowest performance for both genders. The relatively low standard deviation values indicate that students’ scores tend to cluster around the mean. In conclusion, Indonesian language proficiency differs by gender, with female students demonstrating superior performance in listening, grammatical sensitivity, and reading comprehension. These results highlight the need for gender-responsive instructional strategies, particularly to strengthen listening and grammatical competencies among male students.

Abstract

This study aims to systematically review the development of poetry literature e-modules that integrate social analysis in literary learning, with a specific focus on the poem Pulang by Isbedy Stiawan Z.S. The research is motivated by the dominance of poetry e-modules that emphasize structural and aesthetic elements while neglecting the social realities and ideological contexts represented in literary texts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study analyzed scholarly articles, theses, dissertations, and academic books related to e-module development, poetry learning, and social analysis in literature. Data were collected from national and international academic databases using predefined keywords and selection criteria. The findings reveal that most existing poetry e-modules focus on form-based appreciation, technological innovation, and local wisdom, but rarely integrate explicit social analysis addressing issues such as marginalization, poverty, and social inequality. This gap indicates the need for e-modules that position poetry as a medium for critical reflection and social awareness. Based on the review, this study proposes a conceptual direction for developing a poetry e-module on Pulang that integrates sociological and critical literacy approaches to enhance students’ social literacy, critical thinking, and cultural awareness. The study concludes that poetry e-modules grounded in social analysis are essential to support meaningful, contextual, and transformative literature learning aligned with 21st-century educational demands.

Abstract

This study aims to describe Bahlil Lahadalia's politeness strategies, expressive speech acts, perlocutionary effects, and affective color responses in the Bukan Abuleke Podcast upload. Using a qualitative pragmatic approach, data were collected through listening and note-taking techniques, then analyzed using Brown and Levinson's taxonomy of politeness strategies and Searle's speech act theory. The results of the study revealed the dominance of Positive Politeness strategies (10 data) compared to Negative politeness, which reflects the speaker's intentional efforts to minimize social distance and build emotional closeness with the audience. Expressive acts were significantly dominated by the Praise category (8 data), which functioned as an instrument for building credibility through a narrative of personal resilience. The communication patterns found tended to be Direct and Literal (11 data), which effectively produced very strong Positive Responsive Verbal Nonverbal perlocutions (10 data). Affectively, the use of Humor (6 data) emerged as the main rhetorical instrument to defuse tension and respond to criticism diplomatically. The research conclusions indicate that Bahlil Lahadalia employs an adaptive communication style that integrates personal transparency with professional authority. This strategy successfully creates the image of a humanistic, inclusive, yet firm leader in disseminating state policies in the digital public sphere. These findings contribute to linguistic studies of public officials' rhetoric in new media formats.
