Abstract

Abstract The increase in tourist visits to aquatic attractions will increase the risk of drowning. For traders in water tourism areas who have the ability to evacuate drowning victims. This activity aims to see if there is an increase in knowledge and skills of traders in the Tanjung Kelayang Beach tourist area after participating in the drowning evacuation training. This community service methods that use training and pre-experiment with the One Group Pretest-Posttest design with participants expected to be 30 traders on Tanjung Kelayang Beach. The activity was carried out in October 2020 and analyzed with a dependent t-test. The results of the evaluation of the activities showed an increase in knowledge (28%) and skills (40%) from before and after attending the training. Statistically there was a significant difference in the mean scores of the pre-test and post-test participants (p <0.005). The conclusion of this activity, effective training can increase the knowledge and skills of participants. Further recommendations need to be formed a special team that has a special post on the island as a tourist destination, because the merchant group is only on the beach. Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) adalah terganggunya fungsi pankreas dalam memproduksi hormon insulin atau sel tubuh tidak mampu menggunakan insulin yang sudah di produksi organ pankreas. Jumlah penderita DM di wilayah  Puskesmas Benteng tahun 2023 sebanyak 281 kasus, diantaranya 49 kasus diderita oleh masyarakat Desa Batu Belubang. Kader Desa Batu Belubang  dapat dibekali pengetahuan yang memadai untuk menjalankan tugasnya secara efektif. Pengabdian Masyarakat (Pengabmas) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader dalam penatalaksanaan penyakit DM. Kegiatan Pengabmas meliputi pelatihan kader dengan metode ceramah, diskusi interaktif dan demonstrasi serta pendampingan keluarga penderita DM. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini meliputi 10 kader kesehatan dan seorang bidan desa. Untuk mengukur pengetahuan kader dilakukan pre dan post test yang dianalisis dengan uji T. Hasil uji statisik diperoleh p value = 0.000 berarti ada perbedaan yang signifikan pengetahuan kader sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pelatihan. Terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan  kader tentang penatalaksanaan penyakit DM serta kemampuan kader dalam mendampingi keluarga penderita DM. Pengelola Program PTM dan bidan koordinator seyogyanya secara kontinyu memberdayakan  kader dalam penatalaksanaan DM di desa Batu Belubang sebagai perpanjangan tangan tenaga kesehatan.

Abstract

Cases of sudden cardiac arrest can occur anywhere and anytime beyond the hospital. The American Heart Association advocates using Automatic External Defibrillators as a tool to help the sudden cardiac arrest survivor. However, the previous study showed health workers have less knowledge of tool utilization. The study aimed to determine the influence of animated videos regarding the operational procedures on the level of knowledge of the Polytechnic Pangkalpinang Ministry of Health nursing students. The queasy experimental was used with a non-equivalent control group pre-test and post-test design approach. The total of 140 participants divided into intervention groups received animated videos while the control groups received guide book only. The questionnaires used have a validity value of each question item 0.05 and reliability showed by Cronbach alpha value of 0.732. Data were analyzed using Wilcoxon Test and The Mann-Whitney test to see the comparison between the groups. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge before and after being given the intervention. However, there was no significant effect of providing animated video on the level of knowledge of nursing students (p=0.055 ≥ 0.05), and there was no significant difference between groups (p=0.889 ≥ 0.05). The development of an easy-to-access application and various learning media for introducing other medical devices is recommended for further studies.
