Abstract

This research aims to examine the compliance of prize-winning SMS programs with Sharia principles from an Islamic legal perspective. In the rapidly developing digital era, promotions through prize-winning SMS have become a popular strategy among telecommunications companies. However, it is crucial to ensure that these programs do not violate Sharia principles such as the prohibitions against riba (usury), gharar (uncertainty), and maysir (gambling). This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, gathering primary data through in-depth interviews and questionnaires, as well as secondary data from relevant literature and documents. The results of the study indicate that although there are efforts by telecommunications companies to comply with Sharia principles, there are still some obstacles such as unclear costs and non-transparent drawing mechanisms. Muslim consumer perceptions of prize-winning SMS programs tend to be skeptical due to the lack of transparency and perceived unfairness in these programs. Fatwas and guidelines from scholars, as well as regulations in several Muslim countries, emphasize the importance of transparency, fairness, and the absence of maysir elements in any promotional program. This research suggests improving transparency, implementing Sharia audits, educating consumers, and developing stricter regulations to ensure the compliance of prize-winning SMS programs with Sharia principles. With these measures, prize-winning SMS programs can be conducted more fairly and transparently, enhancing the trust and satisfaction of Muslim consumers.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the boycott of pro-Israel affiliated products on economic growth in Indonesia. This research method uses a qualitative approach used to understand the perspectives and attitudes of consumers and industry players towards the boycott of pro-Israel affiliated products. Qualitative data were collected through in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with consumers, traders, and economists. These interviews aimed to explore the reasons behind participation in the boycott, perceptions about the effects of the boycott, and views on local product alternatives. Qualitative data analysis was conducted using thematic coding methods to identify key patterns and themes. The results of this study indicate that the boycott of pro-Israel affiliated products in Indonesia reflects how international political and humanitarian issues can influence economic and social behavior at the national level. While this boycott has the potential to affect the Indonesian economy by reducing demand for imported products and increasing support for local products, the challenges in implementation and its impact on larger political goals remain complex questions. Therefore, there needs to be an in-depth study and a wise approach in dealing with this issue, considering the economic, social, and political impacts holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the murabahah contract as a Sharia-compliant financing solution free from riba (usury) in meeting both consumptive and productive needs of the community. Murabahah, a sale contract with an agreed profit margin between Islamic banks and customers, has become one of the dominant instruments in the Islamic finance industry. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach through literature study. Data sources include books, scholarly journals, fatwas from the National Sharia Council of Indonesia (DSN-MUI), and reports from Islamic finance practitioners. The findings indicate that the murabahah contract is highly flexible in financing various needs, ranging from household consumer goods purchases to working capital financing for MSMEs. Furthermore, murabahah offers profit margin certainty and is free from riba, aligning with Sharia principles. Nevertheless, challenges remain in its implementation, such as the potential for practical deviations and the low public literacy regarding Sharia contracts. Therefore, strict supervision and continuous education are needed to ensure that murabahah truly serves as a fair and sustainable solution within the Islamic financial system.
