Abstract

The application of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method at PT. DEF, The issue of maintenance has become crucial as it affects not only the reliability of the machines but also the speed and quality of production. This study will explore how the implementation of TPM using the OEE approach can improve machine effectiveness in a production environment, with a focus on timely and optimal maintenance strategies. The research aimed to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of machine operations, particularly injection molding machines, within the company's production line. Through the collection and processing of operational data, it was found that the OEE value for the machines in question ranged from 94% to 95%, surpassing the company's set standard of 93%. The high OEE score reflects effective machine utilization, availability, performance, and quality rates. The research highlights that while the current system meets international standards for machine maintenance, continuous improvements can further optimize machine productivity and reduce downtime. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in West Java regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an effort to increase operational efficiency. The method used is quantitative research with a survey via questionnaire distributed to 100 MSME players. Data analysis includes descriptive statistics to identify the level of understanding, benefits, barriers, and expectations regarding AI adoption. The research results show that 32% of respondents have used AI, with the majority using it for sales data analysis. As many as 75% of AI users find it easy to operate the technology, and 84% state that the cost of use is relatively affordable. The main obstacle is a lack of understanding of the technology, which has led to low widespread adoption of AI. As many as 52% of respondents expressed interest in taking AI training. This research concludes that although AI provides significant benefits in increasing efficiency, technological literacy and more affordable access are needed to accelerate digital transformation in the MSME sector. Recommendations include developing AI-based training and providing technology solutions that are easier to implement.

Abstract

Product quality is an important factor in the automotive industry, because defective products can reduce production efficiency, increase costs, and reduce customer satisfaction. This study aims to identify the dominant types of defects and analyze the main causes of defects in the Instrument Panel production process at PT. Industri Otomotif by applying the Seven Tools method. The research method uses a case study approach with data collection through direct observation, interviews, and production data documentation. The analytical tools used include check sheets, flowcharts, histograms, scatter diagrams, control charts, Pareto charts, and fishbone diagrams. The results show that there are four main types of defects, namely shot mold, bubble, burry effect mold broken, and discolor (striped), with the dominant defect being shot mold at 38.52%. Further analysis using the fishbone diagram revealed that the main causes of defects come from machine, method, material, and human factors. The application of the Seven Tools has proven effective in providing a comprehensive overview of production conditions and generating improvement recommendations that can reduce the level of defects, improve product quality, and reduce production costs.

Abstract

Abstract

PT WCD is a manufacturing company that operates in the Integrated Security Printing and System industry, producing Documents Security as its main product. In the production process, the company still faces several issues related to defective products, which affect production efficiency, quality costs, and customer satisfaction. This study aims to determine the main causes of defects in the Documents Security printing process and to provide suitable improvement suggestions. The method used in this research is Six Sigma with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) stages. Production data and the number of defective products during 2024 were analyzed using several statistical tools, including P-Chart, Pareto Diagram, and Fishbone Diagram. The results show that the most common defects are blobor, stains, and miss register. Based on the data analysis, the average DPMO value is 71,064 with a sigma level of 2.92, which indicates that the current process performance is still below the expected quality standard. Improvement proposals are prepared based on root cause analysis using the 5W + 1H method, along with the implementation of control plans and the use of batch cards to monitor production quality. The use of the DMAIC method in this research proves to be effective in identifying the key factors causing defects and reducing the defect rate, while also helping to improve the efficiency of the production process at PT WCD.
