Abstract

This research aims to develop a prototype of a smart assistant system for independent learning activities based on Artificial Intelligence. Web-based instructional design (WBID) approach is used in research to develop intelligent assistant systems. Artificial Intelligence-Learning Analytics helps students make important decisions and creates an effective and efficient learning environment while still building learning independence. The method used is a research and development (R&D) approach. The findings of this research are an intelligent assistant system in independent learning activities assisted by artificial intelligence in the form of the AILA ChatBot application. In the end, this research concludes that the ChatBOT application developed in this research is used to provide recommendations for using AI applications to students, which are then implemented and integrated into SPOC/MOOC.

Abstract

Abstract

UT Radio, an internet-based radio broadcast service, serves as a multifaceted educational platform, offering general educational content, course tutorials, information dissemination about UT, and engaging educational entertainment. This study investigates the evolving landscape of UT Radio, which now includes live streaming on the UTTV YouTube channel and aligns with the podcasting trend. Podcasts, with their captivating packaging and focused episode content, have gained popularity as a medium for information dissemination. The research employs qualitative methods to identify effective practices and elucidate the experiences of lecturers using UT-Radio for teaching and learning. Subjects include lecturers, course materials, and UT-Radio teamwork. Data collection involves observation sheets, interviews, and documentation, with 248 lecturers participating. The questionnaire evaluates broadcaster performance and UT-Radio management, demonstrating high validity and reliability (rα broadcaster performance = .96, rα management of UT Radio = .94, Cronbach's Alpha = 0.79). Interviews with five informants reveal positive perceptions among lecturers, highlighting UT Radio's role in facilitating the learning process. While obstacles exist, such as limited tutor ability to create instructional media and varying usage of multimedia tools, positive enforcement and management practices are evident. Challenges, including internet constraints during remote broadcasts, are acknowledged, and suggestions for more interactive communication with students are emphasized. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into the dynamics of UT Radio as an educational tool, emphasizing the need for innovative learning media development to enhance the overall educational experience.

Abstract

In this study, we present the validation of the AFCI (Analysis and Identification, Find Color, Color Composition, and Implementation) model as a problem-based approach to enhance the quality of multicolor output in open and distance learning materials. The primary objective was to evaluate the reliability and validity of the AFCI model, specifically designed to incorporate two-color separation techniques aimed at reducing costs while improving the quality of multicolor content. Our research encompassed the examination of printed modules and samples across diverse subject areas, including Basic Chemistry, Architecture, Enterprise System Design, and Teacher Profession. To establish the validity of the AFCI model, a comprehensive validation process was conducted, involving focused group discussions with experts specializing in graphic design, printing, and educational materials. The outcomes of this rigorous validation process revealed substantial validity coefficients (rα visibility = 0.98, rα attractiveness = 0.97, rα convenience = 0.91, rα emphasis = 1), affirming the model's effectiveness. Furthermore, the internal consistency of the AFCI model was confirmed with a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.86. This research significantly contributes to the realm of open and distance learning by introducing an innovative model for improving multicolor content quality. The AFCI model's successful validation underscores its potential to benefit practitioners and educators in developing high-quality teaching materials, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience in open and distance education.
