Abstract

Education is an important part of the national development process which also determines the economic growth of a country. The teacher is one component that occupies a central and very strategic position in the education system. Therefore, to achieve good quality education, teacher performance is very necessary. Teacher performance is a determinant of the high and low quality of education. To improve the performance of a teacher, of course, something is needed, something that is often referred to as motivation. Motivation is closely related to ways of directing the power and potential of subordinates so that they can work productively and achieve predetermined goals. In addition, the factor that can affect teacher performance is the leadership style of the school principal. The leadership role of the principal determines the success of an educational institution. This study aims to determine the effect of leadership style and work motivation on the performance of junior high school teachers in Sentajo Raya District. This research uses quantitative research methods with descriptive and verification approaches. The teachers who were respondents in this study were 84 teachers in seven junior high schools in Sentajo Raya District. The data in this study were obtained by distributing questionnaires to junior high school teachers in Sentajo Raya District. Data collection was carried out offline, namely by distributing questionnaires directly to respondents because researchers could meet directly with respondents so that they could convince respondents about the seriousness of this research. Data analysis in this study used the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach with smart PLS 3.0 software. The results showed that leadership style and work motivation had a significant effect on teacher performance at junior high schools in Sentajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning independence and academic ability on students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy as variables at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Teluk Kuantan Kuantan Singingi Regency. The population in this study were 349 students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Teluk Kuantan, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Indonesia. The sampling technique used was proportional random sampling of 186 students. Data measurement using questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Data analysis used with path analysis. The results of research based on path analysis show that learning independence and academic ability affect students' critical thinking skills mediated by self-efficacy.

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants (usually called TOGA) are essential medicinal plants grown in the yards managed by the family. TOGA basically a program for utilizing a piece of land either in the yard, garden or field to cultivate plants that have medicinal properties. Indonesian people are now getting used to various types of drugs. This has had both positive and negative impacts. The Indonesian Pharmacist Association (IAI) as one of the health professional organizations is currently starting to launch outreach activities to the public regarding the proper use of drugs. Pharmacists as health professionals who are concerned about the use of drugs in the community are encouraged to continue to conduct DAGUSIBU counseling anywhere so that people understand about the correct use of drugs so that the goals of treatment can be achieved and not cause environmental damage. The implementation of community service activities is carried out for correctional inmates at the Class IIA Narcotics Penitentiary in Bandar Lampung. Direct lecture with audio visual method was used in this events. In order to achieve the output in the form of increased knowledge about DAGUSIBU Drugs and TOGA, a pretest and posttest were carried out before and after the events. The average pretest score of participants was 68.28 and the average post test score was 85.22. As many as 95% of participants experienced an increase in post test scores compared to the pretest. The increase in post test scores in participants proves that counseling with audio-visual methods can increase participants' knowledge about DAGUSIBU and TOGA.   ABSTRAK                 Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) pada hakekatnya adalah tanaman berkhasiat yang ditanam di lahan pekarangan yang dikelola oleh keluarga. TOGA atau tanaman obat keluarga pada dasarnya adalah program pemanfaatan sebidang tanah baik di halaman rumah, kebun, maupun ladang untuk membudidayakan tanaman yang berkhasiat sebagai obat. Masyarakat Indonesia saat ini sudah mulai terbiasa dengan penggunaan berbagai jenis obat-obatan. Perkembangan tersebut menimbulkan berbagai dampak positif maupun negatif. Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia (IAI) sebagai salah satu organisasi profesi kesehatan saat ini mulai mencanangkan kegiatan penyuluhan kepada masyarakat terkait penggunaan obat yang baik dan benar. Apoteker sebagai profesi kesehatan yang concern terhadap pemakaian obat-obatan di masyarakat dihimbau untuk terus melakukan penyuluhan DAGUSIBU di manapun agar masyarakat paham mengenai penggunaan obat yang benar sehingga tujuan pengobatan dapat tercapai serta tidak menimbulkan kerusakan lingkungan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan kepada para warga binaan permasyarakatan di Lembaga Permasyarakatan Narkotika Kelas IIA Bandar Lampung. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah langsung dengan audio visual. Demi mencapai luaran berupa peningkatan pengetahuan mengenai DAGUSIBU Obat dan TOGA dilakukan pretest dan posttest sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan. Rerata nilai pretest peserta ialah 68,28 dan rerata nilai postest ialah 85,22. Sebanyak 95% peserta mengalami peningkatan nilai postest dibandingkan dengan pretest. Peningkatan nilai postest pada peserta membuktikan bahwa penyuluhan dengan metode audio visual dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta mengenai DAGUSIBU dan TOGA.

Abstract

This study aims at describing the effect of leadership and achievement motivation on teacher performance at SMK Negeri 2 Pekanbaru. The population in this study were all PNS (Civil Servant) teachers at SMKN 2 Pekanbaru. The total population was 107 people. The participants were obtained by using a simple random sampling technique to obtain a sample of  84 people. This qualitative descriptive research uses a type of correlative  research. The data were obtained through questionnaire and documentation techniques. The collected data were then analyzed using descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results of the study showed that there was an influence  of the principal's leadership on teacher performance. The coefficient of positive path analysis shows that there is a positive relationship between the principal's leadership and teacher's performance. It is found that the  leadership of the school principal is very influential on teacher performance; there is a correlation between achievement motivation and teacher performance; and there is also a positive relationship between principal’s leadership and achievement motivation on teacher performance. Principal leadership influences teacher performance to increase work productivity in achieving goals.

Abstract

Financial behavior is an action that aids individuals in managing their finances effectively. This study aims to analyze the impact of financial attitudes and peer influence on financial behavior, with financial literacy as a mediating factor among students. Conducted from February to June 2023 in the Economics Education Study Program at Universitas Riau, this research collected data through questionnaires and documentation. A total of 115 students participated, selected using a saturated sampling  technique (census). Participants included undergraduate students in the 2020 class from Accounting, Cooperatives, and SMEs courses. Data analysis utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on variance, specifically Partial Least Square (PLS), with SmartPLS 4.0 software, and an independent T-test on SPSS to assess gender differences in peer influence. The results indicated that financial attitudes and peer influence affect financial behavior through financial literacy. Furthermore, gender differences were observed in financial behavior, influencing decision-making. Therefore, students are encouraged to develop positive financial attitudes and surround themselves with financially knowledgeable peers to enhance their financial decision-making skills.

Abstract

This paper documents the influence of the quality of financial accounting learning on financial literacy and its impact on financial self-efficacy. The research uses quantitative descriptive methods through simple linear regression analysis techniques. The research was carried out at the Vocational School of Labor under FKIP, Riau University in the Accounting and Finance Skills Department Program. The population used in this research were students with competency skills in accounting and financial institutions, namely, classes XI and XII in the academic year 2021/2022, all of whom were 90 students studied (census). The research results show that the quality of financial accounting learning influences the financial literacy of students at the Vocational School of Labor under the guidance of FKIP, Riau University. Financial literacy influences students' financial self-efficacy. Quality learning will help in understanding, assessing, and acting in managing students' finances and financial self-efficacy

Abstract

The aim of carrying out this research is to explain how social media is used in marketing micro business products and to find out whether social media has an impact on the development of micro businesses. This research uses this type of qualitative descriptive research using a phenomenological approach. The phenomenological method seeks to understand the meaning of events and their relationship to people in certain situations. Based on the results of research on the use of social media in marketing MSME products, Simpang Baru Village, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, it can be seen that micro businesses in Simpang Baru Village use Instagram and WhatsApp social media in marketing or promoting their products. They use social media by uploading photos and videos by editing them through the application and then uploading them with words that attract customers. Apart from that, micro businesses also rent or utilize well-known social media accounts to promote products and goods so that their products are known to many people. However, from the use of social media, the language used is not good and correct and in terms of business premises there are still many buyers who do not get a seat. The existence of social media has a positive impact on micro businesses to expand product marketing. The existence of social media provides convenience and good benefits for increasing customers and also increasing income. However, when using social media you must also be consistent so that your business becomes better known and grows. If it is not consistent, what will happen is a decrease in income.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning motivation on student learning outcomes in the subject of Social Studies of class VII SMP Negeri 002 Pasaribu Humbang Hasundutan. Learning outcomes are one of the important indicators in the world of education that reflect how effective the learning process is carried out. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach. The population in this study were 329 students of class VII SMP Negeri 002 Pasaribu. The sample size used the Slovin formula which resulted in 77 students. The sampling technique used proportional random sampling. The data collection technique used a questionnaire for the learning motivation variable and documentation of final semester exam scores for learning outcomes. The types of data in this study are primary data for the learning motivation variable sourced from students and secondary data for the learning outcome variable sourced from the school. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that learning motivation had a significant effect on the learning outcomes of students of SMP Negeri 002 Pasaribu Humbang Hasundutan Regency. The t-test showed that learning motivation had a significant effect on learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.015.
