Abstract

Penguasaan kosakata (mufradat) merupakan komponen penting dalam mempelajari bahasa Arab. Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran mewajibkan mahasiswanya untuk berbahasa Arab di lingkungan pesantren, sehingga strategi pembelajaran mufradat menjadi hal yang penting untuk dikaji. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi pembelajaran mufradat bagi mahasiswa di Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran dengan menggunakan klasifikasi strategi dari Rebecca L. Oxford. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran (mixed method) dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 31 mahasiswa Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran semester 2, serta wawancara dengan dosen pengampu mata kuliah bahasa Arab dan musyrif atau pendamping mahasiswa di asrama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang paling banyak digunakan oleh mahasiswa adalah strategi kompensasi (58,72%), diikuti oleh strategi afektif (54,86%), kognitif (49,68%), memori (49,07%), dan sosial (46,44%). Sementara itu, strategi metakognitif merupakan strategi yang paling jarang digunakan (40,66%). Mahasiswa Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran cenderung lebih sering menggunakan strategi kompensasi, afektif, kognitif, dan memori dalam mempelajari kosakata baru, sementara strategi sosial dan metakognitif masih kurang populer di kalangan mahasiswa. Mastery of vocabulary (mufradat) is an important component in learning Arabic. Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran requires its students to speak Arabic in the Islamic boarding school environment, so the mufradat learning strategy is an important thing to study. This research aims to explore mufradat learning strategies for students at Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran using Rebecca L. Oxford's strategy. This research uses a mixed method with a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach. Data was collected through questionnaires distributed to 31 students of Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran semester 2, as well as interviews with lecturers who taught Arabic and musyrif courses or student companions in the dormitory. The results showed that the strategies most frequently used by students were compensatory strategies (58.72%), followed by affective strategies (54.86%), cognitive (49.68%), memory (49.07%), and social. (46.44%). Meanwhile, metacognitive strategies are the least frequently used strategies (40.66%). Students at Pondok Hajjah Nuriyah Shabran tend to use compensatory, affective, cognitive and memory strategies more often in learning new vocabulary, while social and metacognitive strategies are still less popular among students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan tokoh-tokoh modernisasi pedagogik di wilayah Timur Tengah serta pembaruan gagasan yang dibawa oleh tokoh-tokoh tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa library research atau studi pustaka. Analisis dilakukan dengan mencari data berupa jurnal, buku, dan referensi lainnya yang mendukung penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah yaitu pemikiran dan kontribusi tokoh-tokoh seperti Muhammad Ali Pasha, Shah Reza Pahlevi, Abdullah Nashih Ulwan, Rifa’ah Badawi At-Tahtawi, Jamaluddin Al-Afghani, Muhammad Abduh, Syekh Rasyid Ridha, Thaha Husain, Syekh Muhammad Abduh, dan Abdulaziz Al Saud memiliki gagasan pembaruan dalam pendidikan di Timur Tengah dan dunia Islam. Pendekatan yang dilakukan mencakup pembangunan infrastruktur, modernisasi kurikulum, integrasi nilai Islam dengan ilmu pengetahuan modern, serta inklusi dan kesetaraan dalam pendidikan. Pemikiran mereka dapat menjadi sumber inspirasi untuk reformasi pendidikan yang inklusif, relevan, dan berorientasi pada kebutuhan zaman.

Abstract

Communication is a crucial process in human interaction for exchanging information and maintaining social relationships. Grice's cooperative principle provides guidelines for effective communication, yet violations of this principle are often exploited to create humor. This study analyzes violations of the cooperative principle that generates verbal humor in short Arabic films on the YouTube channel Arab Podcasts. Using a qualitative approach with observation and note-taking methods, the researcher observes selected episodes to understand the context of the conversations and the humor that arises, then records examples of verbal humor. Data analysis is conducted in two stages: first, analyzing the application of Grice's four maxims, and second, identifying types of verbal humor based on Berger's theory. The results show that the most significant violations occur in the maxims of quality and relevance, each with three violations (33.33%). The most frequently occurring type of verbal humor is misunderstanding, with two instances (25%), followed by other types such as paradox and wordplay. This study provides insights into how verbal humor is generated through violations of the cooperative principle in the context of Arabic language conversations.

Abstract

This research aims to examine eschatological verses in Surah Al-Waqiah using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic theory, focusing on the relationship between the representamen (sign) and the object it represents. Peirce classified signs into three distinct categories: icon, index, and symbol. The study, conducted as library research using descriptive qualitative methods, employs content analysis for data interpretation. Upon analysis, it identifies eight verses featuring icons where the sign closely resembles the object it represents, such as depicting the universe's destruction as akin to the end of the world. It also identifies nine verses containing indices that clarify cause-and-effect relationships on the Day of Judgement, including the elevation or debasement of groups based on their worldly status and the consequences of indulgence and major sins leading to hellfire. Furthermore, 17 verses use symbols with conventional relationships, such as the "right" and "left" groups to represent categories of individuals in the afterlife and fruit-bearing trees representing perpetual pleasure in heaven. Peirce’s semiotics offers a new perspective for understanding the Quran's message concerning eschatological events that will occur on the Day of Judgement.

Abstract

There are four nahwu postulates agreed upon by the majority of ulama, namely as-sima', al-ijma', al-qiyas, and istishab al-hal. Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-Du'ali agreed on four components of Qias, namely al-asal, furu', illat, and law. However, this research aims to identify his contribution to the field of nahwi science and identify the contrasting views that occur between Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-Du'ali in the use of qias in ulus nahwi. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study as a source of data collection. Data analysis techniques include an in-depth analysis of the contributions of Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad Ad-dual in the field of Usul Nahwi and a contrast to the use of Qias Nahwi as law. The result of this research is that in the discourse on Qiyas Nahwi, the perspectives of Ibn Mada and Abu Aswad al-Du'ali present different but complementary approaches. Ibn Mada emphasized structure and precision in applying Qiyas, while Abu Asad al-Du'ali was more inclined towards context and flexibility in using this method. These two approaches enrich our understanding of how Qiyas can be applied effectively in understanding and applying the law.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out how using animated video learning tools along with critical incident learning strategies affects the learning results of students at SDN Tunggul 1 Gondang, Sragen. The method used in this study is a quantitative experimental approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically a nonequivalent group design. After testing the validity of the instruments, carrying out the implementation, and evaluating the process, the researcher collected test data for analysis. The data was found to be normally distributed and homogeneous in the prerequisite test. Then, the data was analyzed using the t-test (independent sample t-test). The results of the study showed an improvement in Arabic language learning outcomes when using animated video learning tools combined with critical incident learning strategies at SDN Tunggul 1 Gondang, Sragen. This was supported by the results of statistical tests, which showed a significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, as tested using SPSS software. Therefore, it can be concluded that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning there is a difference in the Arabic language learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan media pembelajaran video animasi digabungkan dengan strategi pembelajaran critical incident terhadap hasil belajar siswa SDN Tunggul 1 Gondang, Sragen. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode kuantitatif eksperimen dengan design penelitian quasi eksperimen berupa nonequivalent group design. Setelah melakukan validitas instrument, penerapan dan evaluasi, peneliti menerima data tes untuk dianalisa hingga diketahui bahwa data dalam penelitian ini berdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen pada uji prasayarat. Selanjutnya data dianalisa menggunakan uji t (independent sample t test). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan hasil belajar bahasa Arab menggunakan media pembelajaran video animasi digabungkan dengan strategi pembelajaran critical incident terhadap hasil belajar siswa SDN Tunggul 1 Gondang, Sragen. Didukung dengan hasil uji statistic yang menunjukkan sig. (2-tailed) pada uji independent sample t test sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 yang diuji menggunakan perangkat lunak SPSS. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar mata pelajaran bahasa Arab kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol.

Abstract

This study explores integrating philosophical ethics and prophetic values ​​in Islamic education to realize humanistic, just, and transformative education. Philosophical ethics originate from human rationality and thought, while prophetic values ​​originate from Islamic teachings. By combining the two, Islamic education can be a vehicle for the formation of noble character, social sensitivity, spiritual intelligence, and intellectual skills. This study is qualitative, using a literature study approach and content analysis of related literature. The results of this study reveal that the relationship between philosophical ethics and prophetic values ​​prioritizes goodness, truth, good morals, good character, and humanitarian values, and the difference lies in the source of both. Philosophical ethics originate from socio-culture, human rational foundations, and other logics of goodness, while prophetic values ​​originate from religious teachings, namely the Qur'an and Hadith. Humanistic education glorifies human dignity and develops its potential as a whole. Fair education guarantees equal access and treatment without discrimination. Meanwhile, transformative education equips students as agents of positive change in society. This concept is expected to produce an intelligent generation with noble character. Apart from academic intelligence, education also aims to form a good personality and character following Islamic principles

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model combined with the peer tutoring method in improving and bridging the gap in Arabic language proficiency among pre-university students. The method used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample comprised 48 pre-university students at The research sample comprised 48 pre-university students from one of the Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. The research instruments included tests (descriptive statistical analysis, N-Gain test, and T-test) and a questionnaire. The experimental class's pre-test scores ranged from a minimum of 40 to a maximum of 74, with an average of 58.25, while the post-test scores showed a significant increase, ranging from 73 to 98, with an average of 86.29. The control class showed a lower improvement, with a pre-test average of 57.75 and a post-test average of 70.04. The N-Gain result for the experimental class was 69.07% (moderate category), while the control class scored 29.70% (low category), showing a difference of 39.37%. The T-Test results indicated a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05, demonstrating significant effectiveness in the experimental class. Student response toward implementing the PjBL model and peer tutoring reached 83.23%, which is considered positive. Therefore, the implementation of the PjBL model and peer tutoring method has proven effective in bridging the gap in students’ Arabic proficiency and in producing personalized vocabulary dictionaries.
