Abstract

Studies on civic disposition recently have been carried out with an emphasis on building moral character. However, very few have explored the use of information literacy for fostering civic disposition that examines the interaction between citizenship education, technology, and language. The goal of this research is to discover how to promote civic disposition which focuses on the interaction between citizenship education,  technology, and language in the Citizenship Education course. This study used a descriptive qualitative method, which was located at Yogyakarta State University. Data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation, and literature readings. The research conclusions indicate that fostering civic disposition through information literacy in Citizenship education courses enables students to 1) strengthen their critical thinking skills, 2) learn about civic affairs prudently and effectively, and 3) become self-reliant (independent) members of society. The development of civic disposition through information literacy in Citizenship education courses at Yogyakarta State University is considered as good. through this article, the researchers conclude that fostering students’ Civic Disposition in Citizenship Education courses through information literacy is a form of habituation to smart and good citizenship.

Abstract

As a ground handling officer who deals directly with passengers, both domestic and international, they should have the ability to speak English confidently. In practice, their English language sometimes undermines their confidence in performing their professional duties. The purpose of this study is to find out whether English proficiency affects the confidence of Ground Handling officers at Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang as well as their English performance in handling foreign passengers. This study used mixed methods, combining quantitative and qualitative data. The data was gathered through the use of questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation. Quantitative data analysis employed hypothesis testing and descriptive statistics which were followed by qualitative analysis. The findings of the study indicate the level of English mastery (X) has a significant influence on the self-confidence (Y) of airport ground handlers, proven by the t-test result indicating t-value 4,211 > t-table 2,2024 at the 5% significance level. In general, their English mastery is categorized as “good” However, several issues such as speaking and listening skills as well as vocabulary mastery, contribute to their confidence to perform English in the workplace. They are less confident with their abilities, struggle to communicate their ideas, and rely on coworkers or translation tools.

Abstract

The difficulty of boarding gate officers in maintaining work focus has the potential to reduce the effectiveness of services to passengers during the boarding process. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the work focus of boarding gate officers on the effectiveness of Citilink Airline passenger services at Yogyakarta International Airport. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection through questionnaires. Involving all boarding gate officers of PT Gapura Angkasa at Yogyakarta International Airport, totaling 40 people. The data was then analyzed using simple linear regression method, T test, determination test (R2), and descriptive statistical test. The results of this study indicate that the results of simple linear regression indicate that the work focus of boarding gate officers affects the effectiveness of passenger services as evidenced by the results of the T test which shows a significance value of (0.000 <0.050). The magnitude of the influence of the work focus of boarding gate officers on the effectiveness of passenger service is 80% while the remaining 20% is influenced by other variables or factors not used in this study. The descriptive statistical test results show that the mean value of each indicator is at a high level with a low standard deviation, indicating a consistent officer work focus and contributing positively to the effectiveness of passenger service. In other words, it is concluded that increasing the work focus of boarding gate officers is very influential in increasing the effectiveness of passenger services in the boarding area.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Flight punctuality is an important indicator in assessing the quality of an airline’s service. Flight punctuality reflects operational efficiency and has a direct impact on passenger satisfaction levels. This study aims to determine how much influence flight punctuality has on passenger satisfaction of Malaysia Airlines at Juanda International Airport Surabaya. This study uses a quantitative method approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires to a number of respondents selected using random sampling techniques. The data collected were analyzed using simple linear regression, partial test (t) and coefficient of determination. Based on the results of the partial test (t), the calculated t value > t table is 11,166 > 1,984 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows that there is a significant influence between flight punctuality (X) and passenger satisfaction (Y). in addition, the results of the determination coefficient test show an R square (R2) value of 0,560, which means that flight punctuality has a 56.0% effect on passenger satisfaction, while the remaining 44.0% is influenced by other factors outside flight punctuality. Abstract

Pasca relokasi counter Customer Service maskapai, Customer Service Bandara Internasional Halim Perdanakusuma menghadapi tantangan dengan tingginya inquiry yang masuk karena perubahan ini menimbulkan kebingungan bagi penumpang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis komunikasi efektif yang diterapkan oleh CS bandara serta hambatan komunikasi yang dialami oleh petugas pasca relokasi tersebut. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Sebelum dianalisis secara kualitatif, triangulasi teknik dan sumber dilakukan untuk menjamin kredibilitas data. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa petugas CS Bandara Halim Perdanakusuma menunjukkan komunikasi yang sangat efektif dengan menerapkan tujuh unsur komunikasi efektif, khususnya dalam membangun kepercayaan dan mengelola interaksi kompleks pasca relokasi konter maskapai. Mereka profesional, adaptif, dan mampu menyampaikan informasi yang akurat, jelas, serta konsisten. Kredibilitas petugas terbangun dari sikap ramah dan responsif, dibarengi empati dan pemanfaatan beragam saluran komunikasi. Namun, hambatan komunikasi masih ditemukan, yaitu hambatan teknis (gangguan Wi-Fi, telepon internal, FIDS yang tidak update, dan signage yang kurang jelas), hambatan semantik (perbedaan pemahaman bahasa, aksen, jargon penerbangan, dan kesulitan menjelaskan hal kompleks pada penumpang asing), serta hambatan perilaku (ketidaksabaran penumpang atau penurunan keramahan petugas saat beban kerja tinggi). Secara keseluruhan, komunikasi yang efektif yang diterapkan menjadi kunci dalam menjaga kualitas layanan, meskipun masih diperlukan upaya untuk meningkatkan infrastruktur teknis, pelatihan bahasa dan komunikasi antarbudaya, serta mengembangkan alat bantu (misalnya, aplikasi penerjemah). Optimalisasi manajemen antrian dan beban kerja, serta pengembangan soft skill dan kecerdasan emosional petugas, juga krusial untuk pengalaman penumpang yang optimal

Abstract

Kenyamanan ruang tunggu di bandara menjadi faktor penting yang memengaruhi pengalaman penumpang selama menunggu keberangkatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kenyamanan pengguna ruang tunggu domestik di Gate 5 dan Gate 6 Bandar Udara Internasional Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan Balikpapan. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, di mana instrumen disusun dalam skala diferensial semantik 5 poin menurut Sugiyono (2019) untuk memudahkan responden memberikan penilaian. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada 68 responden yang dipilih dengan purposive sampling. Analisis dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menghitung nilai rata-rata (mean) dari masing-masing variabel dan dimensi yang digunakan dalam instrumen penelitian. Hasil nilai rata-rata tersebut kemudian diklasifikasikan menggunakan pendekatan skala interval untuk menentukan kategori tingkat kenyamanan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ruang tunggu domestik tersebut berada pada kategori “nyaman” dengan skor rata-rata 4,07. Indikator pencahayaan dan kebersihan toilet memperoleh nilai tertinggi, sedangkan fasilitas Wi-Fi dan stopkontak mendapat nilai terendah meskipun masih dalam kategori “nyaman”. Temuan ini selaras dengan teori kenyamanan Kolcaba dan merekomendasikan peningkatan fasilitas digital serta sarana pendukung untuk meningkatkan kepuasan penumpang.

Abstract

The growing integration of digital technology in various sectors, including aviation, has significantly increased vulnerability to cyber threats such as ransomware. This community service activity aimed to raise awareness and improve students’ understanding of ransomware threats and prevention strategies in the aviation industry. The target participants were 24 tenth-grade students from SMK Dirgantara Putra Bangsa in Sleman, Yogyakarta. The method used was an offline interactive seminar, consisting of a lecture, discussion, and digital-based evaluation through pre-test and post-test questionnaires. The program was implemented in four phases: planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The session was delivered by a professional speaker from Rumahweb, one of Indonesia’s largest hosting companies. Results showed a significant improvement in student knowledge, with average scores increasing from 15.29 (pre-test) to 21.38 (post-test). Statistical analysis confirmed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.731, p < 0.05) and a significant mean difference (p = 0.000), indicating the effectiveness of the activity. Additionally, the event was documented and published via YouTube and Harian Jogja, expanding its public impact. This initiative demonstrated the importance of digital literacy and collaborative efforts between higher education, professionals, and vocational schools in strengthening national cybersecurity awareness.
