Abstract

This research is a qualitative research that discusses the survival of the Angkola Mandailing language ecolexicon. This research uses the study of ecolinguistics and lexical semantics. This research data is in the form of Kuling-kuling Anca song lyrics. The data were analyzed using the distributional method. The results of this study indicate that the ecolexicon in Kuling-Kuling Anca song lyrics are parahu 'boat', kukang 'loris', pahu 'fern plant', bulu 'bamboo tree', and rambutan 'rambutan fruit'. These five lexicons still survive in Angkola Mandailing because the song Kuling-Kuling Anca is often played in the Angkola Mandailing area and these lexicons are also still found in the area. From the results of this study, it is known that the introduction of regional lexicons through a song is very effective to preserve the shifting or extinct language lexicon.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms, morphosyntactic features, and causative as well as applicative constructions in the Pasir Pengaraian dialect of Riau Malay. Employing a qualitative descriptive framework, data were collected through in-depth interviews and recordings of natural speech from native speakers in Pasir Pengaraian, Rokan Hulu, Riau. Data analysis was conducted using distributional method, involving the direct constituent analysis (BUL), deletion, and expansion techniques. The findings identify three categories of transitive verbs: monotransitive, ditransitive, and semitransitive, each with distinct argument configurations. Causative constructions in this dialect are classified into three typesanalytic, morphological, and lexical, each reflecting valency expansion through the addition of a causative agent.

Abstract

Universitas Muslim Nusantara Al-Washliyah merupakan salah satu universitas swasta di kota Medan. Salah satu mata kuliah mahasiswa  semester 3 di prodi ini adalah penulisan karya ilmiah. Dalam hal penulisan karya ilmiah kebanyakan para mahasiswa tersbut mengalami kesulitan khususnya penulisan karya ilmiah berbahasa Inggris. Tim pengabdi melakukan sosialisasi kepada mahassiswa semester 3 prodi Agrobisnis dalam hal pelatihan tata tulis karya ilmiah berbahasa Inggris. Karya tulis merupakan uraian atau laporan tentang kegiatan, temuan atau informasi yang berasal dari data primer dan atau data sekunder yang disajikan untuk tujuan tertentu. Informasi tersebut dapat berasal dari data primer, yaitu didapatkan dan dikumpulkan langsung dan belum diolah dari sumbernya, seperti melalui pengujian (tes), kuisioner, wawancara, pengamatan (observasi). Semua kriteria dalam penulisan karya ilmiah ini diajarkan dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris. Hasil yang diperoleh pada kegiatan pengadian ini yaitu mahasiswa lebih memahami tentang penulisan karya ilmiah khususnya dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris. Selain itu mahasiswa mendapatkan kosakata baru dalam bentuk bahasa Inggris yang mendukung mahasiswa dalam penulisan tata tulis karya ilmiah.

Abstract

English is an international language that is taught at all levels of education. In Amir Hamzah University itself, English learning is needed to improve learning outcomes and student motivation. One of the learning methods to improve English proficiency for Amir Hamzah students is the time token method. This learning method is one of the methods that provides opportunities for students to be able to express their opinions in English actively. So that the negative effects of learning dependence can be avoided. The existence of the time token learning method encourages students to increase initiative and participation, avoiding the dominance of students who are good at speaking or who do not speak at all, helping students to be active in learning activities.
